A Message From the Dean As a purpose-driven organization, the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma is on the move. Recently, the College’s Center for Entrepreneurship was named a Top Five Program at the undergraduate level by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine, and the graduate program was named in the Top 20. This is the fifth consecutive year Entrepreneurship has been named a Top 10 program and has been ranked second among public universities two years running. The MBA Program opened expanded facilities in the state’s capital of Oklahoma City and is ranked as a Top 10 (#7) Best Value in the country by CollegeAtlas.org. The Supply Chain Management Program returned to the Top 20 according to Gartner and, for the 10th consecutive year, the International Business Program was ranked in the U.S. News & World Report Top 25. In the past two years, our student enrollment increased over 11% and our faculty presence is stronger than ever. We welcomed fifteen new full-time faculty members and achieved the highest level of research productivity in over a decade. Furthermore, Price College has launched a transformative campaign in conjunction with the University of Oklahoma’s 125th Anniversary campaign to raise $500 million. Associate Dean Appointments Robert Dauffenbach Senior Associate Dean for Economic Development and Impact Director of the Center for Economic and Management Research McCasland Foundation Professor of American Free Enterprise Professor of Management Information Systems PhD (Illinois)
Robert Dauffenbach has been appointed Senior Associate Dean for Economic Development and Impact after serving as Associate Dean of Graduate Programs. In his new role, Dr. Dauffenbach leads and facilitates the integration of three economic development units under Price College, which includes the University of Oklahoma’s Corporate Engagement Office, the Office of Technology Development and the Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth.
Frances Ayres Associate Dean for Faculty Relations, Research Innovation and Accreditation Dale Looper Chair of Accounting Professor of Accounting PhD (Iowa)
Frances Ayres has been appointed Associate Dean for Faculty Relations, Research Innovation and Accreditation after serving as an accounting professor and Director of the Steed School of Accounting. In her new role, Dr. Ayres continues her accreditation efforts and is responsible for college-wide faculty support, research, governance and oversight of the PhD program.
Laku Chidambaram Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Engagement W.P. Wood Professor of Management Information Systems Professor of Management Information Systems PhD (Indiana)
Laku Chidambaram has been appointed Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Engagement after serving as Director of the Management Information Systems Division. In his new role, Dr. Chidambaram leads the undergraduate and graduate program offices, including academic advising, the JCPenney Leadership program, the Energy Management program, the Business Communication Center and the Professional Development programs.
Division Director Appointments Chitru Fernando | Rainbolt Chair in Finance Director of the Finance Division Professor of Finance PhD (Pennsylvania)
Chitru Fernando has been named Director of the Finance Division, as well as Director of the Center for Financial Studies. He has previously served as the John and Donnie Brock Chair in Finance and Research Director of the Energy Institute at Price College. His areas of expertise include corporate finance, corporate risk management, energy, commodity and environmental finance and economics, liquidity risk and financial markets.
Jack Kasulis | Ruby K. Powell Professor Director of the Marketing and Supply Chain Management Division Associate Professor of Marketing PhD (Northwestern)
Jack Kasulis has been appointed Director of the Marketing and Supply Chain Management Division. He has served in a wide range of administrative positions at Price College over the years, including three terms as Associate Dean, Director of the MBA Program, Director of the Division of Management, Director of the CBA Certificate Program and Director of CBA Executive Programs. His expertise includes retailing and channel strategy, as well as consumer behavioral research.
Radhika Santhanam | Michael F. Price Chair of MIS Interim Director of the Management Information Systems Division Professor of Management Information Systems PhD (Nebraska)
Radhika Santhanam joined Price College as Interim Director of the Management Information Systems Division and Michael F. Price Chair of Management Information Systems. Her research complements her teaching interests in decision aiding systems, analytics, systems design and management of technology. Dr. Santhanam is currently a senior editor for Information Systems Research, where she received the Best Associate Editor Award in 2010. Prior to joining Price College, she was a Gatton Endowed Professor at the University of Kentucky after serving as a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati and Florida International University.

Ervin Black | Rath Chair in Accounting Steed School of Accounting PhD (Washington)
Ervin Black’s teaching and research is primarily in the financial accounting and international accounting areas, with emphasis on examining the usefulness of firm financial characteristics in different settings. He is the incoming editor of the Journal of International Accounting Research and has been published in numerous journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics and Accounting Organizations and Society. Dr. Black has held faculty positions at Brigham Young University, the University of Washington, the University of Wyoming and the University of Arkansas. He earned his PhD at the University of Washington.

Mary Hill | Assistant Professor Steed School of Accounting PhD (Alabama)
Mary Hill teaches and conducts research in financial accounting, reporting issues and executive compensation. Prior to joining Price College, she earned her PhD in Accounting from the University of Alabama, where she received several honors for her dissertation, including the AAA/Grant Thornton Doctoral Dissertation Award for Innovation and the Culverhouse College of Commerce Outstanding Dissertation award. Dr. Hill holds a CPA license and previously worked as an auditor at Ernst and Young, LLP.

Batchimeg Sambalaibat | Assistant Professor Finance Division PhD (Carnegie Mellon)
Batchimeg Sambalaibat’s research interests focus on understanding informational, search and agency frictions in financial markets using both theoretical and empirical methods. She was awarded the Alexander Henderson Award for Excellence in Economic Theory by the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, where she also received her PhD and Master of Science degree in Economics. Dr. Sambalaibat holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with distinction, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with distinction and honors from Indiana University in Bloomington.

Caroline Zhu | Assistant Professor Finance Division PhD (Duke)
Caroline Zhu’s teaching and research interests are in corporate finance, capital structure, corporate governance and the role of information. She had a paper accepted this year by the Western Finance Association. She received her PhD in Finance from Duke University after receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, Investment and Banking from the University of Wisconsin.

Alexis Downs | Associate Professor Management & Entrepreneurship Division PhD (St. Louis)
Alexis Downs’ teaching and research interests are interdisciplinary, with specific interest in the intersection of strategic management and taxation. Dr. Downs graduated from St. Louis University with a PhD in Business Administration. She is a CPA and graduated from OU with a Master of Accountancy degree, and earned a Master of Taxation degree from the University of Tulsa. Dr. Downs also received a Master of Arts degree in English from Oklahoma State University after receiving an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Will Drover | Assistant Professor Management & Entrepreneurship Division PhD (Southern Illinois)
Will Drover teaches and researches in the areas of entrepreneurship and strategy. His research has been published in several leading journals, such as the Journal of Business Venturing. Dr. Drover has twice been awarded best paper recognition, and his research has also been presented as the keynote address to one of the world’s largest angel investor symposiums at Microsoft in Silicon Valley. Prior to OU, he was a Visiting Scholar at Babson College. Dr. Drover earned his PhD from Southern Illinois University.

Jim Wheeler | Assistant Professor Management & Entrepreneurship Division PhD (Oklahoma)
Jim Wheeler became an assistant professor after serving as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Price College Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. He continues to hold the Stanley White Directorship of the Entrepreneurship Center. Dr. Wheeler sits on the State of Oklahoma Seed Investment Fund Committee, and created a student venture capital fund as well as an annual business plan competition. He earned his PhD from the University of Oklahoma.

Brian Dunn | Assistant Professor Management Information Systems Division PhD (Pittsburgh)
Brian Dunn is involved in an active stream of research targeted at top MIS journals, and has authored two Harvard business cases used widely in teaching graduate-level IT courses. He received his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh where his doctoral thesis used behavioral experiments to explore the concept of borders in digital environments. Prior to earning his doctoral degree, Assistant Professor Dunn spent 11 years working in private industry in various IT-related positions.

Charles Ingene | Robin Siegfried Centennial Chair Marketing & Supply Chain Management Division PhD (Brown)
Charles Ingene’s teaching and research assesses pricing contracts in distribution, location issues in retailing and the economics of externalities, migration and international trade. He previously was a chaired professor at the University of Washington, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Mississippi. Dr. Ingene received his PhD and Master of Arts degree at Brown University, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.

Pravin Nath | Assistant Professor Marketing & Supply Chain Management Division PhD (Texas)
Pravin Nath performs research on marketing’s role and its organization focusing on chief marketing officers in top management teams, as well as on related areas of strategy, branding and global marketing. His work has appeared in top journals like The Journal of Marketing and been presented at leading conferences. Prior to joining Price College, Dr. Nath taught at Drexel University. He earned his PhD in Marketing from the University of Texas after receiving Master of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Engineering degrees from the University of Bombay in India.

New Instructors Joseph Dulin | Instructor Steed School of Accounting MBA (Utah State)
Joseph Dulin’s areas of expertise include risk management regarding property and casualty losses, cost accounting and consolidations. Prior to joining Price College, he was a sole practitioner specializing in court appointed receivership and special master duties. In addition to being a CPA, he is a certified risk manager and served as the chief risk officer of Utah State University and the University of Oklahoma. He received his MBA from Utah State University and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University.
Laura Palk | Instructor Marketing & Supply Chain Management Division JD (Oklahoma)
Laura Palk joined Price College as the Accreditation and Assurance of Learning Coordinator and as a Lecturer in Marketing and Supply Chain Management in the legal studies area. She has served the University of Oklahoma for the last 13 years, first as Assistant General Counsel for the Office of Legal Counsel and most recently as Institutional Equity and Title IX Officer. She obtained both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Oklahoma.
Krista Snow | Instructor Managment Information Systems MEd (East Central University)
Krista Snow teaches computer-based information systems and programming. She also serves as Co-Director of the Management Information Systems Student Association and is Director of IT is Hot Camp for high school students. Associate Professor Snow received her Master of Education degree from East Central University after earning her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in MIS.
Daniel W. Pullin | Dean Fred E. Brown Chair JD (Oklahoma) | MBA (Harvard)
Daniel Pullin was appointed Dean and Fred E. Brown Chair of the Michael F. Price College of Business April 1, 2014, after serving as interim dean since July 1, 2013. Pullin serves as an executive officer of the University of Oklahoma in the role of vice president and teaches each semester in Price College, where he received the OU Foundation Alumni Teaching Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Pullin most recently served as university vice president for strategic planning and economic development and chairman of OU’s Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth. Prior to joining OU in 2006, he served as vice president of strategy and business development for Home Interiors & Gifts following his tenure at McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm, and Hicks Muse Tate & Furst, a leading private equity fund. Dean Pullin, a licensed attorney, earned undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance from the University of Oklahoma, an MBA from Harvard Business School and a juris doctorate from OU.
