READER’S Gallery “SUNRISE CANVAS” Corinne Lacrneux

( FRANCE )

“My name is Corinne, also known as, “March”. I live in Lyon, France and I work from home for my husband’s company. I’m a mom of an adorable “young” adult, who’s also my source of inspiration. I have a wonderful husband who understands and accepts my passion for scrapbooking. I enjoy many styles but once I discovered Mixed Media, I began to include it in my projects. I like to work with inks, paints and additives (gesso, gels mediums etc.) and stencils. I often work with pictures or postcards

brought back from my travels with my husband.

embellish around the photo. This added to the effect of a beautiful underwater coral reef.

“SLOW DOWN” Nic Howard

( NEW ZEALAND )

“The new Vintage Vanity papers from Finnabair are simply gorgeous. They offer deep, rich color, yet still a neutral base to work perfectly with a range of different Prima products. Nic has used a base of darker Engraver papers to contrast the richness of the Vintage Vanity, older linen and textile patterns working perfectly with the doilie mask Nic featured on her background. Bel Canto & Serentity flowers take centre stage in the embellishing. This layout is finished off with “Say it in Studs” flourishes and leaves made with one of the

new Prima Sizzix dies.

Kelly Foster

“I loved using the All Star collection in a different direction...I thought the colors and textures were a perfect match for these photos taken of myself and my girls checking out the scenery on a train ride recently. I cut apart bits of the brick patterns and the tickets and layered them up! I used the Ingvild Bolme Junkyard Findings - Water Pipe Parts - to frame my photos and add to the “industrial” feel of the layout. I

tucked in one of the “Car Parts” as well, to one of my flower clusters.

“BOY WONDER”

Adrienne Ford

( USA )

“I was very much inspired by this photo I captured of my son. I love the bold stripes in his shirt against the earth tones and sky in the background. I very much played off these colors when creating my background and lightly painted onto the Prima flowers for a more cohesive look. The bark icon butterflies were just perfection against this boyish layout! To really make them pop off my page, I outlined them with black archival pen. I love the playfulness of the messy sewing thread, it also helps really

highlight the Sugar Dots from the All Star line that I tucked in here and there.

“AlwAys dAddy’s AllstAr” Sam Ho

( SINGAPORE )

“When I see the newspaper print pattern paper from the Allstar Collection, I knew I had to make a layout with the title Daddy’s All Star (which is inspired by the name of the collection itself). Since the color from this collection is fairly neutral and masculine, it is perfect for a boy’s layout. I used the Finnabair stencil to add some colors and texture to the newspaper background. I also pulled out a number of star embellishments (brads, flair buttons and stickers)

to complement the title.

close to my work area. Papers, masks, alpha and canvas sheets are all in separate upright file folders

WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD ORGANIZATION OR STORAGE TIP YOU COULD GIVE US? As daggey as it may sound, but if you are a visual/texture person like me, then consider grouping your flowers in groups of what the flowers are made of, for example; I have all hessian/canvas flowers grouped together, all mulberry flowers grouped together, organza, metal etc and so on. I makes it easier to select potential products that would suit the project design and/or look, that you have in mind.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ORGANIZATION PIECE IN YOUR ROOM? Until recently I didn’t have one but I did purchase 2 lovely hanging wire baskets from Ikea to place on my bench top, these hold my paints, brushes/tools that I use frequently and stop them from being spread out all over my work space. They help to keep the mess contained so they would be my favorite organization piece at the moment.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOUR ROOM WHAT WOULD IT BE? LOL-most definitely the size and the amount of working bench space that I have. I would love to have separate a designated work area so I don’t need to keep packing up my wet mediums, also so I do not worry that they will get all over my paper products etc.

IS THERE ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION TIPS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE? This probably sounds a bit of a time waster but it works for me; and that is to have a spring clean of your scrap space every six months. Appraise the products that you have stored ‘close at hand’ to ensure that you do frequently use them and, if not, replace them with your favorite most used products and put the others back into drawers/baskets away from your working area. Consider using open top, clear storage systems so that it is easy to see the products and it is also easy to get to them when the mojo is flowing.

“BORN TO BE FREE” Keren Tamir

( CANADA )

“I got inspired from the pastel colors from the Delight collection. I wanted to create a serene beach scene with those papers and the Delight Destination paper was the perfect background for my scene, as

it reminded me of a magnificent blue sky.

BACKGROUND First I masked one of the Elemental stencils with light molding paste. The shape of this stencil reminds me of the ocean waves so it was perfect for creating this beach scene. Once dry, I sprayed it with different shades of blue. Then I masked small butterflies in the sky using another Elemental stencil. I used Sandy Stone Texturez to create texture on the butterflies.

LAYERS To add layers to my layout, I used leftover pieces from different papers from the Delight collection. I layered them over each other using some foam tape. I added some crystal chevrons and arrows to the layers, too. After creating the area around the picture, I needed to balance it in the corner, so I layered a few paper pieces at the bottom of the page.

EMBELLISHING Finally to embellish the papers I used matching Prima flowers, shells and cheesecloth. These three together were the perfect embellishments to create this beach scene.

“SUMMER FUN”

Camilla Ekman

( SWEDEN )

My name is Camilla Ekman and I am from Sweden. I live here with my husband and our two children. I work as a Montessori teacher. When I don’t work I scrap, read books, listen to music and spend time with friends and their families. I enjoy traveling as well. I have scrapped for a few years and I think my style is somewhat romantic. Even though my layouts have flowers on them, they’re still pretty “clean”. Sometimes I scrap a bit shabby (distressing and inking) depending on what papers I use and what mood I’m in. I love softer colors and brighter colors and my style can change. I always use different kinds of flowers on my layouts. I also love to use swirls of different kinds, ribbon and lace. I always try to find a detail to finish off the page. My goal is to create beautiful, harmonic pages. I always make 12x12 layouts, because this size fits me and my style the best. I enjoy creating mini-albums, making cards and altering items by using my scrapbooking and stamping supplies. My favorite Prima products are the flowers and the different resins. And I also loooove the bling swirls.

“HAPPY MEMORIES” Joanne Bain

( AUSTRALIA )

My name is Joanne, but my friends call me Jo. I am a very proud mother of 2 of the best kids in the world, I am slightly biased. I am happily married to my best friend and have been for 19 years. He is the best husband a girl could ask for and is very supportive of my need to scrapbook. We live in sunny Queensland, Australia along with our 2 dogs and more pet birds then I can count. I have been a scrapbooker for 12 years and I would say I am slightly addicted to this craft. My preferred scrapping style is 12 x 12 layouts and creating off the page, but I do enjoy altering items and making cards. I am not locked into a specific scrapping style, as I am happy to give anything a go. I would describe my style as structured, full of detail and dimension, with lots of layers and fussy cut paper details; if the papers have a pattern that allows me to do so. My favorite Prima Product - Seriously it’s hard to pick just one, but I do love the vines and roses.

“PERFECT DAY”

Rommel Okuma

( BRAZIL )

Hey there! My name is Rommel Okuma, I am a 34 year old guy and I live in São Paulo, Brazil with my boyfriend and two kittens: Wasabi and Temaki. Although I have a degree in Business Administration, I have an artistic soul. Ever since I was a child I have loved playing with colored pencils, watercolors, oil pastels, origami papers and other artistic materials. When I found out about Scrapbooking, over 5 years ago, I immediately became addicted. For me, Scrapbooking means more than just keeping my memories close and registering good moments. This artistic expression gives me many possibilities to express myself and my story. Fun moments, music, books, movies, and my daily life… in all of these situations I can find inspiration for my artistic works. My style? I think I have an eclectic/artistic style. It depends on the mood of the day and the inspiration I can catch from the photo or subject I want to develop. I just have fun playing with papers, inks and artistic mediums, creating layers and adding distressed edges. I love it all! My favorite Prima product: Prima Flowers, for sure! I will be lying if I chose anything else, and if I could be more exact I would say: vines! I am always trying to use them in several creative ways, because they are just amazing and gorgeous.
