Redefining Low-Level

Order Picking

CROWN's QuickPick Remote Advance is a game-changing innovation in low-level order picking – a fast paced, physically demanding job. With the simple press of a button on the wireless remote, the order selector remotely advances the truck to the next pick location, allowing the operator to remain in the optimum pick position. The operators spend more time working behind the truck and less time stepping on and off the platform. The QuickPick Remote Advance system also reduces damage due to the auto steer correction and obstacle detection features. Because the QuickPick Remote Advance system reduces steps in the picking process, the amount of time spent carrying heavy cases and the number of steps on and off the platform means less strain on the operator’s body and less fatigue as a result. Using patent-pending technologies, QuickPick Remote Advance revolutionises and drives unprecedented results in warehouse productivity. Crown Equipment Pty Ltd, www.crown.com/au

A NEW report has been launched to provide the Australian rail industry with a roadmap for the future. The On Track to 2040 report, compiled by ANU Edge, the Cooperative Research Centre for Rail Innovation and the University of Cambridge Institute for Manufacturing and Strategic Connections Group, aims to enhance the competitiveness of the industry and maximise opportunities for Australian rail suppliers. The report also documents the outcomes from a rail vision workshop, which included more than 40 key industry leaders. “Apart from a united direction, the workshop prioritised areas for the Rail Manufacturing Technology Roadmap’s next phase in identifying future opportunities for the rail supply industry and building on our current capabilities,” Rail supplier advocate, Bruce Griffiths explained.

The report provides the Australian rail industry with a roadmap for the future.

Griffiths said the report marked the beginning of transforming the Australian rail supply industry and developing sustainable jobs. “Industry input to identify the industry’s strengths, capabilities and technologies, as well as to identify the strongest potential market opportunities is vital,” he said. “With commitment from all stakeholders, On Track to 2040, will create a strategic plan for global competitiveness and innovation and a renaissance of the Australian rail manufacturing industry.” ANU Edge 02 6125 9024 anuedge.anu.edu.au

Brambles to expand CHEP pallet operations GLOBAL materials handling and storage company, Brambles, will sell its Recall document management business so it can focus on its pallet operations. The sale will be worth about $2 billion and a quarter of the proceeds will be used to expand Brambles' CHEP pallet business and pay off debt, ABC Lateline Business reported. Brambles made $500 million in the 12 months to the end of

June, which is down about one per cent on the same period last year. Brambles’ chief executive Tom Gorman said the company was expecting profits to increase in 2012. New reforms for Australian shipping industry THE Federal Government has announced new reforms in the Australian shipping industry, including a zero tax rate for ship operators. Transport Minister Anthony Albanese said the new reforms are designed to increase the international competitiveness of Australia’s shipping industry. The package of reforms includes: tax reforms to remove barriers to investment in Australian shipping and to foster the global competitiveness of the shipping industry a simplified three tier licensing framework for participation in the coastal trade; the establishment of an Australian International Shipping Register to put Australian companies on a level footing with their international competitors; and the establishment of a Maritime Workforce

Development Forum to progress key maritime skills and training priorities. Companies will also be given a financial incentive to replace ships earlier, with the depreciation rate reduced from 20 years to ten years to encourage renewal of the fleet. The reforms also include a tax break for companies employing Australian seafarers on international voyages. The Australian shipping industry has been operating at a substantial disadvantage compared to international operators who have access to beneficial tax, regulatory and employment arrangements, according to Albanese. Chief executive officer of Shipping Australia, Llew Russell, said the package of reforms was welcomed but further information was required on how the reforms

will be carried out. “Shipping believes that the package of reforms released by Minister Albanese today has the potential to lead to a reinvigorated and internationally competitive Australian merchant marine,” Russell said. “Much will depend on the detail of how the reforms are enacted whether that objective will be achieved. The details of the criteria for the second register and the training packages as the result of the establishment of the forum to develop skills and training in the industry, are some of the issues on which we are waiting further detail. “The coastal shipping policies appear initially to be of concern but whether this concern is fully justified will depend on further detail being made available to the industry.

COAG agree on transport reform THE Council of Australian Governments (COAG) has reached an agreement on national transport reforms. The reforms, agreed by the COAG on 19 August 2011, include a national heavy vehicle law, a new maritime safety system and new rail safety system – each administered by an independent national regulator. The new reforms will cut the number of transport regulators from 23 to three by 2013. “It’s a long overdue reform that industry desperately wants to see come to fruition,” chief executive officer of the Australian Logistics Council (ALC), Michael Kilgariff, wrote in The Canberra Times. “Combined, the reforms are estimated to boost our national

economy by approximately $30 billion.” Kilgariff said the new reforms would reduce transport costs and help lift national productivity without compromising safety. “The national regulatory reform agenda for heavy

VTA launches logistics cadetship program THE Victorian Transport Association has launched a cadetship program for young people interested in moving into the logistics industry. “The VTA is very excited and pleased to announce this fantastic new venture supporting young people getting into this industry,” said VTA chief executive, Philip Lovel. “We know there are plenty of young people who are interested and just need a guiding hand into this industry. This program has plenty to offer to both the cadets and the companies who take them on.” The Victorian transport and logistics industry employs more than 330,000 people and contributing more than 14 per cent of the state’s Gross State Product.

Lovel said the cadetship program is available to companies of all sizes and opened to anyone aged between 18 and 25 who has completed year 12. VTA Logistics Cadets graduate after two years with a Certificate IV in Logistics and a Diploma of Logistics. Over the two year program, the VTA helps with recruiting cadets, overseeing cadets at their workplace and during study blocks, and assists companies in managing their cadets and the program. “Another bonus is that employers may be eligible for financial incentives of up to $8000 to support the training of the cadets,” Lovel said. Safe Manual Handling at Distribution Centres & Parcel Carriers

Distribution Centres Situation: The main areas in a Distribution Centre are the receiving dock, the storage area, the picking area and the shipping dock. Manual work in all these areas might cause problems with repetitive strain injuries due to bad postures and heavy manual lifting that are performed with a high intensity. Solution: Materials Handling P/L, together with our partner Vaculex, have developed specialized solutions to solve these problems in most of the areas in a Distribution Centre. In addition to the reduction of work related injuries Vaculex solutions usually also improves productivity and worker satisfaction. Vaculex solutions for Distribution Centres include solutions for: • Unloading or loading vontainers and trailers • Order picking in picking areas • Palletizing • De-palletizing

Parcel Carrier Terminals Situation: At all Parcel Carrier Terminals there is normally considerable manual handling of parcels. At smaller terminals manual handling tends to dominate the operation, at larger terminals automated sorting systems handle the sorting and terminal logistics but the manual handling is still an important part of the operation. At every terminal some of the parcels do not fit the automated sorting system, these non conveyable parcels usually are large and heavy but even in spite of that must be handled manually due to the lack of lift assists. Manual handling has previously been the only alternative when loading and unloading containers or trailers, sorting parcels between pallets, cages and conveyors. The manual handling at Parcel Carrier terminals is typically high tempo and work postures, if not performed with care risk causing injuries. The weight of parcels can often be up to 40 kg. The manual handling risks cause repetitive strain injuries and severe injury to for example the spine. The result is high sick absence, low productivity and dissatisfied workers. Solution: Materials Handling P/L together with our partner Vaculex has developed and implemented solutions to solve the manual handling problems at Parcel Carrier Terminals. The results are ergonomic solutions that potentially increase the productivity whilst still minimizing the risk for repetitive strain injuries and other injuries like spinal injuries. After just a short period of training most operators use the equipment like an extension of themselves. Integrating Vaculex solutions into the existing handling system is usually easy. In cases where there is limited space such as low head room, narrow passages and narrow areas Vaculex have solutions that can solve most of this. Vaculex Solutions for Parcel Carrier Terminals include solutions for: • Loading or unloading loose loaded containers and trailers • Sorting parcels between cages, pallets and conveyors

‘Virtual fence’ safety system

Safe handling of reels

FLIR Systems has released a ‘virtual’ perimeter-fence alert system called Thermal Fence – a fully-integrated system which uses thermal security cameras for simultaneous threat detection and assessment. The system recently won the Best New Product award at Security2011, Australia’s largest security conference and exhibition. The Thermal Fence uses FLIR Sensors Manager (FSM) software, providing automated perimeter approach surveillance, intrusion detection and alert capabilities. The system covers perimeter security applications including critical infrastructure, petro-chemical facilities, nuclear facilities and residential installations.

SITECRAFT'S Logistec stainless steel Compac lifter has reportedly been designed to lift, transport and position loads. It enables easy and safe handling of reels or coils, ideal for industries where hygiene and resistance to chemicals is of paramount importance such as food, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. The lifter is flexible in design, operator friendly and easy to use with a range of features and functionality, according to Sitecraft. The reel handler is used to lift and rotate reels of film and paper by gripping the reel’s core, and rotating them over to be placed on pallets or loaded onto a production line.

SSI SCHAEFER’s LogiMat storage lift is designed to maximise storage capacity while reducing storage and energy costs. The LogiMat storage lift is an automated storage and order picking solution that uses process automation to provide a six- to ten-fold increase in order picking speeds, at the same time minimising picking errors, the company says. The LogiMat features two rows of trays. Between the trays, there is a lift moving up and down along the entire height of the warehouse automation system to remove the individual trays from their positions and move them down to a service opening that follows the goods-to-man principle. VICTORIAN company Independent Racking Inspections & Audits’ (IRIA) racking audit software is now multilingual to accommodate clients with global bases. IRIA’s Rack Audit Technology was developed to collect and store steel racking audit data in a range of industrial and commercial operations, aiding racking safety. Faults are recorded for storage in a centralised database, allowing users to generate damage reports on-site. The technology now offers the facility to operate in various languages, accommodating global clients with language barriers. According to Independent Racking Inspections & Audits, the multilingual capability was added to the company’s Rack Audit Technology software because many companies with steel storage racking in their business failed to realise their responsibilities within the Australian Standard, including annual inspections. The racking audit software reportedly complies with the Australian Standard for Steel Storage Racking (AS4084) and the European FEM standard. (FEM 10.2.04)

All good things come in threes The Loscam ‘new-gen’ radiata pine pallets are made entirely from sustainable pine forests. In 25 years a sustainable pine forest can produce thousands of new Loscam pallets compared to 75 years for hardwood pallets. A tree reaches maturity over a course of many decades and absorbs roughly 680kg of CO2 in its first 55 years, according to carbon-info.org. A well-managed sustainable pine tree farm acts like a factory for sucking CO2 out of the atmosphere. The most climate-friendly policy is to continually cut down trees, plant new ones and use the wood to produce durable products like Loscam pallets.

Logistics Leader DHL Supply Chain took out this year’s award for implementing the DEPICT method for Pfizer's new Direct Distribution Model. Sarah Falson writes.

D

HL Supply Chain took-out this year’s winning vote for the Logistics Leader award – sponsored by CEVA Logistics – at the 6th Annual Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards. DLH Supply Chain won for the adoption of its Depict methodology to define, plan, implement, control and transition stages of Pfizer's new Direct Distribution Model. When asked how the company felt to win this category, DHL vice president of life sciences and healthcare – Australia, Saul Resnick, said: “I am very proud of all our team and all their efforts over the years towards the development, implementation and running of the Pfizer Direct Distribution Model. This award really is for them and represents their dedication.” The company commenced the direct distribution of Pfizer's full range of prescription medicines to all community pharmacies across Australia earlier this year. DHL Supply Chain

recruited and trained an expanded administration, warehouse and transport team to ensure a seamless process for pharmacies as this new strategy took effect. The new distribution model enables Pfizer to effectively promote and market its medicines to pharmacists, and with an increased range of offpatent and generic products going direct to pharmacies, Pfizer is better able to compete with the generic manufacturers and offer an increased range of products. By deploying 'Pick to Light' technology in four distribution centres, DHL has been able to meet its service criteria for all 5,160 pharmacies from just eight distribution channels, as opposed to the traditional wholesaler model, which uses up to 16 nationwide distribution centres. Some key areas DHL Supply Chain focused on are: end of line check weigh process – ensuring highest levels of pick and pack accuracy; and recycling of eskies for environmental reasons

and also for re-usability and cost effectiveness. The judges said: “DHL demonstrated excellence in the management of Pfizer’s supply chain operations. DHL’s direct distribution model delivered impressive results for a large supply chain operation.” DHL Supply Chain 1300 725 468, www.dhl.com.au

Warehousing and/or Storage Solution Woolworths, in conjunction with Dematic, won this brand new awards category for an innovative DC upgrade in Victoria. By Sarah Falson.

A

S part of its Project Refresh supply chain initiatives, Woolworths has completed an innovative distribution system and infrastructure upgrade at its Mulgrave National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Victoria. The company won the Warehousing and/or Storage Solution award at the 2011 Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards. After more than a year in design and nine months onsite, Woolworths pulled apart, redesigned and transformed one of its largest distribution centres to support business growth at a much lower cost for the next ten years. The NDC upgrade, which involved a partnership with materials handling supplier Dematic, was designed to boost throughput volumes by up to 80%. With a series of innovations within the automation design, Woolworths has been able to maximise efficiency at its NDC. 16 | Logistics&MaterialsHandling November 2011

“[The company] was very honoured to accept the award on behalf of the many people involved in this project,” said Aaron Ford operations manager, Melbourne NDC & Mulgrave Produce. “Woolworths has undertaken some major projects in logistics but this was a significant challenge given that it involved pulling apart and rebuilding one of the company's largest operations, whilst continuing to operate that site at full capacity throughout, servicing over one million cartons per week nation-wide. “The project took an aging and complex automated facility and completely transformed it over the course of nine months. New systems, automation and associated infrastructure were progressively introduced to transform the site into the highly efficient and flexible operation that now services Woolworths National network of Supermarkets at a greatly reduced cost. The judges said: “Woolworths’ Project Refresh

OBOTIC Automation won the Materials Handling Solution Award, sponsored by Linde Material Handling, for this year’s Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards. Robotic Automation was recognised for the design, build and integration of an end-of-line solution to help boost productivity at packaging company Amcor Cartons. “It’s fantastic and really good recognition for the RA team that put in the effort to make it all happen,” said a Robotic Automation spokesperson at the event. The project, called the Robotic End-of-Line Solution, consisted of three main technologies: robotic palletising, Automatic Guided Vehicles (RAGVs) and automatic pallet wrapping. The robotic palletisers have increased Amcor Cartons' productivity by reducing the amount of manual handling bottlenecks in the factory, while the RAGVs have allowed for a more effi-

cient and flexible use of current floor-space and cost-free adaptability to changing needs. The automatic pallet wrapping machines have increased the efficiency of Amcor Cartons' use of stretch film consumables by up to 350%. Overall productivity has increased by more than 235%. According to Robotic Automation, this project was a very significant one for the company. “This project brings together the entire main elements RA group had to offer: IE Robotics, AGVs and Stretch Wrapping,” said group managing director, Colin Wells. “We should have had two tables instead of one and brought more staff and clients to such a great event,” Wells said of the event. Robotic Automation is now working on a string of similar projects, after the success of the joint venture with Amcor Cartons. The judges said: “Robotic Automation’s solution has cut costs, saved time and prevented

Young Professional of the Year This young achiever took out the 2011 Young Professional award for developing a critical Cost to Serve tool for BlueScope Steel. By Rita Mu & Sarah Falson.

C

ONGRATULATIONS to Daniel Castle from BlueScope Steel, for winning this year’s Young Professional of the Year award, sponsored by SSI Schaefer. The judges said: “Daniel’s development and implementation of a Cost to Serve tool was a critical ability for BlueScope Steel. Daniel was able to conduct a complex but essential piece of analysis that has delivered real, lasting commercial benefit.” As a principal supply chain analyst, Daniel Castle's responsibilities include the identification and implementation of medium to large projects that improve Bluescope Steel's costs, service or safety position. These responsibilities include analytical review, capital case development, project management, influencing of internal stakeholders, and system design and building improvement. Daniel was promoted last year (from a senior to a principal supply chain analyst) due to his

achievements. He has been identified as a High Potential Employee within BlueScope, delivering millions in savings for the company. Daniel was asked to develop and implement a Cost to Serve tool for BlueScope Steel's Australian based sales. This tool is viewed as a critical enabler in improving margins for BlueScope Steel in a mature domestic market. Daniel has also introduced another key business initiative around international freight optimisation. This initiative meets the ongoing business drive to lower costs for international distribution. It has been delivered by configuring the company's Transport Management System to optimise freight in containers in the same manner as which the system optimises domestic road and rail movements. Consequently, Daniel has allowed BlueScope to improve container utilisation for the movement of international freight by about 10%. Introduced a little over a year ago, the Trans-

Supply Chain Innovation A well-implemented solution that overcame a critical problem for shopping centre logistics won this year’s Supply Chain Innovation award. Sarah Falson & Rita Mu write.

C

ONGRATULATIONS to Bestrane, for taking out the Supply Chain Innovation gong (sponsored by Cornerstone Automation Systems Inc – CASI), at this year’s Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards ceremony. The company won for implementing its Descartes Dock Appointment Scheduler (DAS) to manage and improve the inbound and outbound dock function at the Westfield Group’s Westfield Sydney shopping centre. The structure of DAS supports three major areas: configuration, booking request/approval and booking execution. The solution enabled stakeholders such as contractors, carriers, suppliers and retailers to access a booking system in real time via a hosted online solution. Over 90% of appointment bookings are now made and approved automatically. Peter Cameron, sales and commercial manager at the Bestrane Group, said he was “surprised, but happy,” to win such a prestigious award.

“There was a large field of quality entrants who were deservedly finalists, so we were not confident of winning. Although we feel the Dock Appointment Scheduler is a very innovative solution, it is fantastic to have others recognise the innovation it represents as well,” he said. “The success Dock Appointment Scheduler solution has been a major win for both Westfield and Bestrane. Traditionally, Westfield has not seen itself as having a major impact on the Supply Chain, but with 240 Retailers, 400 Carriers and Contractors and up to 450 deliveries coming into the one location it definitely is not the case. “This solution has improved the management of the task and brought significant benefits not only to Westfield but the key stakeholders in the Supply Chain. This has all been done with no increase in manpower as 95% of the bookings are made and approved via the web.” The judges said: “Bestrane’s Descartes Dock

B Schenker has been working with a major electronics customer to streamline their supply chain in order to reduce environmental impact and cost. This involved a complete review of supply chain activities. This project won DB Schenker this year’s Best Green Initiative award at the 2011 Logistics & Materials Handling Mercury Awards, sponsored by Century Yuasa Batteries. The judges said: “It is impressive that Schenker Australia’s green initiatives reduced its carbon emissions by 40% from 1990 to 2007. The company’s drive for a greener future is reinforced with the goal of reducing a further 20% by 2020.” There were three main areas that DB Schenker needed to review. Inbound delivery was analysed in an effort to optimise container recovery and improve lead time. Warehousing was examined

24 | Logistics&MaterialsHandling November 2011

to determine methods of consolidation and local delivery was evaluated to improve fleet optimisation and efficiency. DB Schenker consolidated four local warehouses into one logistics centre located within one kilometre of the rail system directly linked to Port Botany. This resulted in a shift from truck to train inbound delivery, meaning multiple containers could be delivered simultaneously. This also resulted in fewer trucks on the road and less movement from warehouses to port. Local delivery was also improved using DB Schenker's optimisation tool to analyse trucking movements nationwide. "At DB Schenker we believe that ecology and economy can go hand in hand. It's our responsibility to reduce our company's footprint in the environment, and we care about our future generations who deserve to live on an equally beautiful and healthy planet," says Carola Jonas,

With a lift capacity of 2,500kg, the H50CT is said to strike a balance between the number of loads it moves and the amount of fuel it uses, which is 12% per cent less fuel than similar forklifts use on average. The optional integral sideshifter allows loads to be optimally positioned, and the responsive electronicallycontrolled inching adjustments are designed to give the operator better control of load positioning. The H50CT is suitable for applications in agricultural, general warehousing and distribution, beverage distribution and bottling, light manufacturing, or retail. An optional 2.6L diesel engine is also available.

supplychain

Supply chain traceability Traceability is more than just a process of tracking events in the supply chain; it is a method manufacturers take to become customer-centric. Steven Kratsis writes.

T

HE need for manufacturers to focus on compliance and traceability initiatives is increasingly significant as commercial pressures grow to meet regulatory mandates. By mitigating the risk of product recalls, reducing manufacturing costs and quality controlling end-to-end process traceability, organisations will be able to reduce inefficiencies. Technology can be used to track system status, analyse performance and support decisionmaking. Software systems, for example, are designed to support the levels of strategy, planning, design and operations. All of these forms of traceability are needed in manufacturing to provide a structured, holistic way of managing operations to meet commercial targets. Traceability takes two forms. The first, product tracking, is following the path of a specified unit of a product through the supply chain as it moves between organisations. Products are routinely tracked for obsolesce, inventory management and logistics. The second, product tracing, is identifying the origin of a particular unit and/or batch of product located within the supply chain by reference to records held upstream. Products are traced for purposes, such as recall and complaints. Scoping out the challenge Traceability enables organisations to ‘guarantee’ the origin of a product or raw material. It also allows them to reduce the risks they face where an incident has occurred by more quickly searching impacted products and removing from the marketplace as/when required. In many firms, opportunities for process quality enhancements are lost because genealogical data is so hard to attain. Many organisations across the process industries, particularly those in the batch industries like consumer products and pharmaceuticals, are still

finished products. Second, it can help identify in which specific lots a particular product has been used. Third, automation can be used to find which equipment items have been impacted by a given lot. Fourth, it enables organisations to use records to find the history of a manufactured lot. Finally, it enables users to compare manufacturing and quality parameters at different steps of the same lot, and between the same steps of different lots. As well as data about temperatures and pressures from pallets and boxes, there is a need to capture relationships across the manufacturing process.

using manual approaches to traceability. This presents a variety of problems as organisations need to keep a history of transactions, stretching back as many as ten years to comply with regulations. Most businesses keep a paper-based standard operating procedure document and mark comments on it. There are many disadvantages to this approach. First, it is extremely expensive. Second, it introduces errors into the system both in the process and in the documents used to support it. Third, it brings little value to the organisation. Unlike electronic data, it cannot easily be used to support continuous process improvement, carry out ‘what if’ analysis and drive product efficiencies. Some organisations are now looking to digitise the process but the sheer weight of paper that will need to be moved before this can happen makes this a challenging task indeed. It is important that data is collected and analysed electronically. Automated traceability techniques are used across a range of applications. First, the approach can be employed to identify lots impacted by an incident, by navigating ascendant and descendant links between raw material lots, intermediates and

An effective solution To fully support traceability, sophisticated tools are needed to deal with a range of issues. In the product development process, this includes manual data from pallets, raw materials scans and process automation data. This will incorporate batch data, details of product quantities, sources, destinations and times of despatch and arrival, and supply chain data. When all disparate information has been collected and captured, the information needs to be stored into a database and a user interface provided in order to navigate it quickly and easily. Detailed analysis software is also needed to analyse the data, evaluate issues, find their source and the underlining cause. In this context, a software solution for traceability will address the core manufacturing function and the broader supply chain can be deployed across many process industries and easily integrated with many other systems. Traceability should not been seen merely as a process of tracking events in the supply chain, it’s a method of being customer centric, enhancing service excellence and achieving commercial success by developing a genuine value chain. Women driving home transport industry THE old-fashioned notion of males dominating the Australian transport industry is changing thanks to the hard work of countless women, and a number of government and business initiatives aimed at correcting the gender imbalance. "While attracting and hiring qualified women in a male-dominated industry can prove to be a challenge, organisations such as Transport Women Australia and Trans-Help Foundation have done a great deal in getting women involved in the transport sector," said Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) director and chief operating officer, Phil Taylor. "These organisations not only promote effective networking and mentoring for women within the industry, they also provide clear career paths and recognition for women who are working in, or want to work in the transport industry.” According to a recent report conducted by the Transport Logistics Centre, the average age of truck drivers in Australia is 43 years old, compared to the average age of 39 across all other industries. Other

Taylor says government and business must get more women involved in the transport industry.

research from the Victorian Department of Transport also shows that 32% of current truck drivers will be over 70 years old by 2026.

Taylor said that finding ways to replace over 30% of the workforce is crucial for the survival and prosperity of the transport industry, and government and business action aimed at getting women involved is a critical first step. "The annual $10,000 Victorian Government scholarship for females starting a post-graduate degree in the freight, logistics and/or marine-related fields along with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, Strategix Training program are great initiatives to get women involved in the industry," he said. According to Taylor, the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics is forecasting an 80 percent rise in Australia's total freight task between now and 2030; given this, transport businesses that aim to attract and retain women will be more resilient to future skills shortages.
