The Matthews families at Highland Stock Farms would like to welcome you to Highland Sale 17. It is with great anticipation that we look forward to this year’s event. As you will notice we have changed the date of our sale and have pushed it back into the month of December. Many fellow breeders have asked Why the change? The reasons are simple... to better accommodate our customers. With the year winding down and the harvest and fall shows completed, we understand that people are in a better place to take advantage of our sale offering. Calves have gone to market, hay is up and grain is in the bin. Our outstanding set of calves will have that extra two and a half months of growth, time and the start on feed that is so important for the settling in of winter. Our great set of bred females will be further along in calf, with less time between clipping that “coupon” for your important investment dollars. This year’s offering definitely has something for everyone.You will notice some exciting new genetics as well as some of our herd based “tried and true” individuals. One of this years features is the HSF Tinkerbell female that sells with her outstanding January heifer calf at side. This was my daughter Cassie’s junior project for several years, and with several banners under her, Cassie is reluctantly letting her go. Another set of features the matings of AHCC WestWind and DVFC Natalie that sell as lots 3, 4, and 5. WestWind has already made quite an impact on the Limousin industry throughout North America. This genetic powerhouse combined with the flawless make up of the Natalie cow is phenomenal! These are just a few of the features you will see as you thumb through the pages of this catalog.
