Hamilton Farms 30th Annual Bull Sale 2025

Page 1

Welcome everyone to Hamilton Farms 30th Annual Bull & Select Female Sale…

Thirty years have sure flown by it seems! I vividly remember all the preparations we were tasked with to get ready to host our 1st sale back in 1995. It was a huge undertaking to organize the first one. We thought it would get easier in time… past experience would be golden, and the stress would be much less. Well, that’s what we thought!! In actual fact, hosting these sales really doesn’t get easier. We know the drill inside and out, but you can never take your foot off the gas and there is never any room for complacency. Having said all this, we couldn’t be prouder of the journey so far, and we are extremely blessed to have our family alongside us now to continue pushing Hamilton Farms forward into the future. Through the past 30 years, we have been so fortunate to have such a strong customer base that have supported us and believed in the product we have been raising. Thank you to every one of you, whether you purchased one animal or hundreds of animals, you have been an important part of the growth and success at Hamilton Farms. We would also like to recognize two people who have been on this journey with us for the past 30 years. Colonel Steve Dorran as our auctioneer, and ring man Bryon Wolters. Thank you both, for all your help and dedication. We really appreciate it! We continually strive to source genetics which will benefit our customer’s programs with sound, easy doing cattle, capable of withstanding harsh conditions, while maximising production. Our bulls and heifer calves are developed by their mothers, naturally, on grass and milk, with no creep feed through the summer. After weaning, the bulls are introduced to a high roughage, low energy, TMR ration, that is designed to enhance their growth requirements without compromising their longevity. We think the bulls and heifers are in ideal body condition to go to work for their new owners. The open heifers on offer represent many of our top cow families and we believe this group is as exciting as we have offered. Cole Giles and his sister Taylor will once again present a stout group of quality two-year-old bulls from 3G Cattle Ventures which have been retained solely for this sale. No bulls have been sold previously from this group.

We wouldn’t be able to operate this outfit without the great help and expertise from the following people… Joel and Taylor Hamilton continue to take on more responsibilities in the management and operation of the ranch, Brenda Silbernagel and Dawn Turner who do such a thorough job in the office, Tim Hamelin who started in October with ranch duties, Chad MacLean splitting ranching and college duties and graduating this spring from Olds College, Bruce Luyendyk doing a great job running the feed wagon, Cole Giles masterfully heads up the show and sale cattle preparations, Jordan Buba’s awesome patience with livestock photography and videos. Special thanks to Kim Matthews for her expertise with advertising and compiling our catalog for over 20 years, Sebastien Stewart who spends a lot of time assisting with herd visits, bull searches and acquisitions, Wyatt and Stacey Hamilton who are committed to the promotion and success of Hamilton Farms. Thanks to you all for all your help and expertise.

Our family keeps on growing and Gail and I are so fortunate to be blessed with loving grandchildren. Wacey and Carlye’s girls, Romee 8, and Oshie 6, Wyatt and Stacey now have a daughter Lennon 3, and a new son Kace 7 months, and Joel and Taylor have a daughter August 1-year old, and another arrival coming in February. We are excited about the future and will cherish all the memories yet to be made.

Our live auction will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, and we will be hosting our annual open house on Tuesday, March 25th with food and refreshments available all day. Call anytime if you have any questions or need help with your selections. If you can’t make it in person on sale day, DLMS will be available to handle your online bidding needs. Please give Rob, Gail, Joel, Sebastien, or Cole a call if you have questions or need suggestions on selections.

Stay safe, Happy Ranching, and we look forward to seeing you!

Hamilton Farms have their entire cow herd on an integrated and comprehensive health and production management program. The program is based on the detailed collection of data on each individual animal at all key health and production points. This information is kept in a secure web-enabled database called Herdtrax® and it is continually monitored and audited by the managing veterinarians at Cow/Calf Health and Management Solutions (CCHMS).

The are 5 key components to the health and management program:

• Nutrition

• Animal Care and Welfare

• Disease Prevention

• Breeding Soundness

• Tracking Sale Bull Progeny Performance

Bull and Heifer Nutrition

All pre-weaned calves are raised on mamas milk and lush green grass. No supplemental creep is needed or provided. After weaning they are introduced to a fibrous total mixed ration comprised of chopped hay, silage, barley and an all-natural protein supplement. This diet is more than adequate for maintaining growth and performance and superior for rumen, hoof and reproductive health.

Breeding Soundness Examination

Every bull for sale will have been evaluated for the following criteria:

• Physical Examination

- Soundness of structure and movement

- Palpate testis, epididymis and internal sex glands

• Scrotal Circumference

-Minimum requirements must be met or no further evaluation is performed

• Examination of the penis

- Verify each bull can protrude and there are no warts or defects on the penis.

• Sperm motility and morphology

- Verify sufficient gross and individual motility and sperm morphology

Rob, Gail and family con琀nue to raise the bar higher and higher each year, which is hard to believe considering they have one of the premier sales in Canada each year. Mark your calendar, it is an event you don’t want to miss.

The bull feeding program is built to maximize forage u琀liza琀on and gut health; they are developed on grass with their moms on a strict mineral program. All the forages are sampled and analyzed to ensure quality forages are used. Once the calves are weaned, they are slowly moved onto a balanced TMR. The bulls are challenged with a forage-based TMR to help them develop and express their gene琀c poten琀al. Matchin suitable protein sources with proper starch is key to promo琀ng muscle growth. Organic minerals are used to ensure proper immun func琀on and overall health.

If you have any ques琀ons about the nutri琀on program, please feel free to reach out. Buy with confidence knowing the bulls have been developed on a balanced nutri琀on program. Good luck on sale day.

Hi-Range was purchased through the 2022 Ellingson Sale for $160,000 and he has proven his worth time after time since then. Bulls of that value come with very high expectations, and he has certainly lived up to all our expectations and more. A true calving ease specialist with growth and power to boot! HiRange will be a game changer for structure, foot quality and mobility. His outcross pedigree offers mating flexibility for a large cross-section of the breed, and he will excel with low birth, high performance progeny. Hi-Range progeny certainly created quite a stir in our 2024 sale with 23 sons selling for an average price just over $30,000. We now have Hi-Range females in production and they really are the right type and kind. They are consistently big middled, moderate sized females with udder quality galore. Hi-Range is just right for the cowboys who demand low input and high yields.

Northern Prince was a bull that was on a lot of astute cattlemen’s radar after we had him on display at Agribition in 2022. He captured Senior Bull Calf Champion at the show and was destined to be our lead off bull in 2023. A back injury kept him out of the sale that year which was a huge disappointment for us as well as the people who came to see him. The silver lining in this was that he did eventually return to health, and we couldn’t be happier with his resulting calves. We are looking forward to seeing his daughters in production down the road as there is so much maternal ability in this bull in terms of feet, udder quality and longevity. We have two flush sisters to Northern Prince in production in our herd and they are very special. Eleven maternal brothers to Northern Prince have sold through our bull sale for an average price of $21,000.

Reverence was the very popular lead off bull in our 2023 sale which sold to Bar E L Angus, and Cowtrax Cattle Co for $80,000. Reverence’s first calves here at Hamilton Farms are very impressive plus he did an equally impressive job leaving top end calves at Murray Ranches and Cowtrax Cattle. Reverence is sired by Sitz Profound 680G who is leaving us with outstanding replacement females, which are phenotypically pleasing to the eye, very nice uddered, with correct structure. His dam is one of our most highly regarded females descending from the famous Echo Cow family. We will continue to use Reverence in our program as he truly sires the right kind.

Co-Owned with CowTrax Cattle Co.

Relevance is a new outcross sire which we added to our program to enhance maternal strength, foot quality, and thickness, while offering our long-time customers a complete new pedigree to choose from. He is super long-bodied with an enormous top and rear quarter, moves like a cat, and stands on an ideal foot structure. Relevance is an impressively wide-bodied bull who also adds significant carcass values and stems from the highly valued Pride cow family at Poss Angus. We are super happy with the first calf crop by Relevance and will watch with great anticipation for his daughters to enter production.

Co-owned with Sitz Angus

We purchased Canadian semen on Jordan when in search of new outcross genetics that would benefit our breeding goals for maternal excellence and balanced numbers. Jordan is a unique sire with outstanding EPD balance, and ideal phenotypic design. This Identified son is anchored by his impressive and productive Confidence Plus dam, which goes back to the famous Baldridge Y69 cow. Our inaugural set of Jordan calves were very impressive, and we think that this year’s sire offering are even better yet.

6 Sons Sell

We purchased Showman with Six Mile Angus in the 2019 Schiefelbein Sale where he was the high selling bull at $125,000 USD. We bought Showman to add a new pedigree to our program that would support our efforts to provide easy doing, easy calving, high performance cattle. Showman has exceeded all our expectations after his first daughters calved, as they have extra body mass, nice udders and wean heavy calves. Showman has unbelievable spread from birth to weaning, and he does all of this while still transmitting tremendous muscle shape, volume, and eye appeal. The Showman sons are super stout with a ton of angus character and the heifers exhibit an abundance of volume and capacity while maintaining superior femininity. Showman progeny have been in high demand, and they will continue to add value for us as well as our customers.

Alcatraz sold through our 2019 sale to Bar-E-L Angus and Cowtrax Cattle Co. for a Canadian record selling price of $200,000 for one half interest. Alcatraz set a new standard for the definition of what a fault free bovine should look like. His structure is pretty much flawless, and he is so impressive in every other way. If docility is important to you, he has that. If added muscle expression is your desire, he provides that. He proved himself as a calving ease sire after the data on his first calf crop was recorded. When we collected semen on Alcatraz at 13 months of age, he never missed a beat and produced semen consistently during his time at Alta Genetics. Alcatraz daughters are consistently moderate in frame with some added muscle shape and spring of rib. Alcatraz daughters are super productive and continually wean calves near the top of the class.

Profound was the high selling bull in Sitz’s 2020 spring bull sale selling to Hollow Top Ranch, Montana, for $70,000. We acquired semen exclusivity on Profound to add to our herd bull line up and provide some fresh genetics which are rich in maternal values. Profound is a high performing, calving ease sire with balanced EPD’s, tremendous individual phenotype, and sound structure. Profound daughters are high in maternal values, and we couldn’t be happier with the udder quality, foot integrity, and body mass of these females. Profound has proved himself very popular with our customers as we have had numerous sale toppers. A son, HF Reverence 23K sold through our 2023 sale to Bar-E-L Angus, & Cowtrax Cattle Co. for $80,000. HF Intimidator 15J sold to Ranche Covey Hill for $19,000. Two Profound daughters sold in 2022, one to Rideau Angus Farm for $37,000, another to Simone Ducharme for $28,000.

Aftershock was one of our most popular bulls to sell through our 2022 sale going to Rivercrest Angus for $50,000. Hamilton Farms retained in herd semen on Aftershock and we used him with great success. Sired by the ever-popular HF Alcatraz 60F and out of one of our outstanding Tiger daughters, HF Miss Blackcap 257E, who just happens to be a full sister to one of our long time donors, HF Miss Blackcap 296Y. 296Y raised 16 calves which sold for an average price of $18,000. Aftershock stands on solid feet, he is very muscular through his top, and rump, and possesses that proud herd bull look. Aftershock has done a masterful job up at Rivercrest Angus as well as here at Hamilton Farms and both operations will feature his outstanding progeny.

Badlands is one of the most exciting Angus sires to have come around in many years. His balanced-trait package gives him the correct tools to make a meaningful impact in the commercial cattle industry. His Pathfinder dam has numerous sons being utilized in Angus programs across North America and Badlands’ positive impact will be felt for years to come. Badlands’ sons are consistent in their kind with more base width, volume, structural correctness, and authentic breed character that is second to none. We are very impressed with the Badlands offering in this year’s sale and we will have more progeny coming again next year.

Without question, Fair-N-Square is a breed changer for adding foot quality, base-width, and body density. His first calf crop here at Hamilton Farms proved his merit for adding performance and muscle in the right package, with big hipped, dense bodied, and sound calves. Fair-N-Square daughters will be the icing on the cake as all indicators point to him leaving females with level tight udders and sound structure.

Trailblazer is an exciting breeding piece which Hamilton Farms acquired from Daltons on the Sycamore in Virginia in 2021. Phenotypically, he is an outstanding individual with impressive body mass, and Angus character. Trailblazer is wide based with tremendous hind quarter and stifle, carrying that thickness up over his top from back to front. Structurally, he is a true gem with ideal leg structure and sound foot quality. You could put on a pile of miles searching for a bull of this magnitude that also packs such a superior EPD profile. Trailblazer is a calving ease bull that will also excel in performance and carcass traits while still maintaining maternal excellence. We unfortunately lost Trailblazer due to a stifle injury, but his influence will continue here at Hamilton Farms.

Baldco Fair N Square was purchased from Tiedeman’s in Nebraska in 2022. ‘BFS’ has massive rib depth, excellent structure, and comes from a mature cow which we really admired for her impeccable feet, udder structure and longevity. You can expect Fair N Square 122 son’s to be trouble free, and prolific in replacement female production.

Hi-Country is a powerhouse, calving ease sire that we are so excited to have in our lineup. He was our lead off bull in 2024 selling to Strongbow, River Valley, and Peak Dot, for $185,000. HiCountry checks off all the boxes when searching for the ideal herd bull. He is wide topped, expressively muscled, big scrotaled with ideal shape, perfect footed, and has a mother that is absolutely stunning. All reports of calves born from Hi-Country have been positive. Moderate birth weight, jet black and hairy. You can wear out a lot of tires trying to find a bull of this stature as they are very rare and hard to find. We will use Hi-Country extensively over the next few years and we know he will have a significant impact on the Angus breed in North America.

Co-owners: River Valley , Stongbow, Peak Dot, Hamilton Farms

Prostar is another All-Star herd bull raised right here at Hamilton Farms. He was purchased through our 2024 sale by SW Cattle, and Emde Land & Cattle/606 Livestock for $85,000. We exhibited Prostar at Agribition in 2023, winning Senior Bull Calf Champion, as well as also winning the Angus division of the Presidents Classic. Prostar has developed into a power Angus bull, defined by big nuts, tremendous body length, strength of top, and desirable muscle expression. His dam is a very productive cow with lots of foot strength and udder quality. We used Prostar back in our program and the results so far look promising. His calves are consistently stamped with body length and quickly transform into very shapely and stylish individuals. We expect Prostar to carry us forward in a positive way and look forward to having his sons in next year’s bull sale.

When you dig into the history of this bull you’ll find that his dam, HF Rosebud 246Z, has raised numerous notable past studs and multiple females retained in herd! His name suits him perfectly when you witness his depth of body, muscle shape, and width right from his pins to his poll. He stands square on all corners and commands your attention in the pen. He is sound structurally and moves out well. As you can see from his picture, he has that rugged herd bull look and great testicle maturity. He is heifer bull approved with a 70 lb birthweight and doesn’t falter in performance; he weaned off mom with an actual weight of 880 lbs and posted an impressive 1567 lbs yearling weight. We are excited about this years Baldridge Jordan sire group and HF Power Hour will be one of the fan favorites. He combines power, shape, and ruggedness into a stylish and clean front with ideal angus character. He is very appealing to the eye and has the potential to be a real game changer. We love our Jordan daughters and with the added Tibbie cow family on the bottom side this bull will sire females you’ll never want to part with. His dam, HF Tibbie 205F, has solidified herself as a staple female for us and for good reason. She has impeccable feet and ideal udder along with tons of mass, middle, and style. In her early days before she joined the donor program, she raised 2 impressive bulls that sold to commercial cattlemen for $10,000 each and a very special heifer, HF Tibbie 224J, that sold to MWC Investments for $36,500. We have since acquired 224J back in Robin’s dispersal in partnership with Golden Oak because we loved her so much! 205F has 6 ET bulls selling and 1 female. Full sibs sell as lot 98M & 233M

ISABEL B082

This stout bugger is the first Fair-N-Square calf born at HF and we were pleased with him since day 1. He shot out at 73 lbs and had the vigor needed to get off to the races. He is 1 of 6 really strong flush mates splitting bulls and heifers evenly. Fair-N-Square is advertised to enhance foot quality, fertility, width, performance, and fleshing ability and we think they have done just that when you analyse these brothers. His full sisters are some of the strongest females in the replacement group and we are very excited to see them milking next winter. Above Board 32M is out of one of the most potent donor cows to walk our pastures. His dam, HF Evening Tinge 118Z, does not miss. This Tiger daughter had 3 sons roll through the ring in last years sale averaging $16,000 and 5 sons that lead the 2023 sale order and averaged $30,000 between them. She also had 2 daughters from the same flush that averaged $25,000 and one daughter that will remain in herd with high expectation of following in her mother’s footsteps. Full Sibs 37M, 47M

This Jordan son will be hard to miss when touring the pens. With his added length, rugged bully look, wide top, extra muscle shape, and big nuts he has solidified himself as a true feature. He has a nice moderate birthweight and was one of the heaviest calves at weaning, which is no surprise when you see him in person. His mother is nearing the end of her production career being 13 years old, but she still puts everything she has into her calves!

MJ (Michael Jordan) has been one of our favorites for a while now, he is so correct and structurally balanced. This ET calf just does so many things really good, he’s not an outlier in any one aspect, he’s just solid at everything and this bodes true on his EPD spread as well! MJ has a very stylish profile and tremendous amount of shape and muscle mass when you walk in behind him, he is clean through the sheath and up into his front and provides ideal testicle development. MJ was a valuable part of our Agribition string of bulls last fall and was always very easy going in terms of docility. His donor dam, HF Mayflower 191Z, needs no introduction being the

HF Done Deal 47M is the last of the Fair-N-Square brothers born…only by a few hours. These flush brothers are all very similar in shape, size, soundness, and design but 47M was able to take the cake over his brothers weaning off his recip mother at 920 lbs and posting a yearling weight of 1475 lbs… any win over your brothers is a good win and Joel knows all about that haha! Done Deal adds versatility to your breeding program as he can be used on heifers but provides enough size to cover cows as well. For more information on his donor dam see lot 32M. This Hi-Range son comes to you out of a tanky Consensus daughter that has been a great cow for us. We were very excited to see how this flush would turn out when adding the best attributes from Hi-Range to a broody and powerful cow, and we were very pleased with the results. 3 full sisters remain in our replacement pen, and we expect big things from them. A maternal brother, HF Electric Avenue 196D, sold to Richmond Ranch for $72,000 and another maternal brother sold out of last years sale to East & West Ranching for $12,500. Full Sib 137M

Sometimes you’ve got to go back to your roots and go with what you know. Tiger 60M comes to you as an ET calf from one of our favorite matings, HF Tiger 5T x HF Miss Blackcap 27R. Tiger needs no introduction or history lesson of what he has done for our herd, but in case you don’t know much about 27R… She was a staple donor for our program raising many sires, the most notable being HF Syndicate 213Z, she also raised multiple females that would enter the donor pen including 296Y, 228B, 220C, and more donor females that would come in the following generations. The maternal side of this bull is a long list of consistent and predicable females!

This calving ease specialist was born at 70 lbs and has an ADG of 4.6 lbs/day brining him to a yearling weight of 1433 lbs. 66M is phenotypically flawless, he is structurally sound and mobile, he stands on a good foot and catches your eye every time he floats by. He is sure to sire a pile of replacement females, and you’ll see why when you get a look at his dam, and granddam. His dam, HF Tibbie 15K, is a beautifully made moderate cow with great feet and a level tight udder. His granddam, HF Tibbie 139F, is more of the same but with a little added size and middle. He was a late addition to our Agribition string getting a halter on and a quick clip job just a few days before we hit the road to Regina. His natural docility was a big help in making that happen, and then he strutted the ring a few days later winning 2nd in class. He had many friends that week and for good reason. If you need a bull to add pounds and performance to your calves this is your guy, he would have been one of the heaviest calves on weaning day pushing the scale down 975 lbs, and posting a yearling weight of 1466 lbs. To take advantage of current cattle prices, weaning heavy calves is a must. Being able to turn a bull loose on heifers that will calve easy AND pack on the pounds is a major bonus. Jordan 87M can help with that. His moderate birthweight, high growth numbers, attractive phenotype, and stellar EPD’s make him a very interesting breeding candidate! Then you add his mother into the equation, a beautiful Rosebud cow that has a proven track record. A maternal sister sold to Steven Knutson for $37,000 in the All-Star Angus Sale at Agribition. A maternal brother sold out of last years sale to Devon Hogg for $14,000. This Hi-Range son had a full brother that sold last year to Dave Woywitka for $17,000 and was a hell of a bull, so we bred the cow the same way, and she did it again! 94M is a bit of a unique bull in terms of a pedigree. Here is a wicked calf to represent the new and exciting Poss Relevance sire group. We acquired Poss Relevance in partnership with Sitz Angus and have been very pleased with the progeny that we have to offer. As a group they provide structural soundness, loads of muscle shape and expression, they’re heavy and travel well, and the daughters should make terrific mothers. “Fear of looking stupid is the No. 1 killer of dreams. The worst part? The people who make you feel stupid are usually the ones least qualified to judge someone else’s life.”

Just a note about our feeding program!

The entire bull offering has been developed on a high roughage Total Mixed Ration which has been formulated to maximize nutrition without adding excessive weight gain.

Our target for gain on our bulls is approximately 3 pounds/day and we like to see the bulls with moderate flesh, athletic, and ready to go to work for their new owners. We know it is very difficult to properly appraise cattle with excessive body condition and we feel it is very beneficial to you, the buyer, to view the cattle when they are fresh and with visual muscle definition. We understand, and pay attention to the fact, that we are in a performance driven business and we strive to source genetics which will help add pounds to your calves, and leave you with desirable replacement females.

This profound son is sure to add consistency in maternal characteristics to your replacement females. When you combine the structural integrity, udder quality, and body mass of Sitz Profound and HF Alcatraz you know the females are going to rise to the top and provide that maternal longevity that is so important! 173M has a tremendous amount of breed character with loads of mass and volume, and strides out well when he’s on the move.

This Jordan son is worth his weight in gold, and he posted a yearling weight of 1514 lbs. As one of the heaviest calves in the pen you’ll notice he carries himself extremely well. He posses that herd bull look and he knows it. Study this bull and you’ll be hard pressed to find a flaw in body, pedigree, or number spread! He’s thick, deep sided, and hairy. His EPD spread is above average and balanced across the board. If you are looking to add carcass values to your program without sacrificing the phenotypic profile, this is a good calf for that. And to top it off he can run on heifers! Sentinel’s mother is a beautiful young cow we purchased from Covey Hill 2022 sale for $15,000. She is doing an awesome job again with her young Prostar bull calf at side and we are excited for her future.

When you see Alcatraz come up in the pedigree, you know what you’re going to get… docile, great footed, hairy and overall good cattle that do so many things well. With growing concerns about structural soundness and foot quality in our industry, Alcatraz cattle have excelled. This bull calf was a shoe in to join the feature pen for a long time, and when you see him in person you’ll see why! 245M can be used on heifers and has a very balanced set of EPD’s making him a versatile breeder!

HF Noble 248M is another pea in the pod when analyzing the Northern Prince sons. After you get the opportunity to see this bull, we feel you will have a high appreciation for him as an individual. Noble will meet your phenotypic needs and then impress you further when you study his pedigree and EPD spread. This low birth heifer bull indexed 110 at weaning with a 865 lb weight, and posted a yearling weight of 1487 lbs. Low birthweight and heavy weaning weights have been a common trend for bulls coming off of Alcatraz sired mothers! His Alcatraz dam stems back to the Miss Blackcap cow family that has been a staple in our herd. Note the maternal granddam and

As you study the catalog, you’ll find exceptional quality in the Badlands sire group. We were late acquiring Ellingson Badlands semen which is why we don’t have too many progeny in the offering this year, but we think these cattle are made right and compliment our cows nice in pedigree and profile. 289M was born late February, he slid out at 72 lbs and posted very respectable weaning stats despite his age and being his dam’s first calf. Cole Giles and his sister Taylor from 3G Cattle Ventures have been consigning a group of extra age bulls for this sale since 2017. These April and May born bulls have never been offered for sale prior, and they certainly are raised and developed to go out and service a larger group of cows compared to yearling bulls. These 2-yearolds have been targeted for sale as aged bulls and have been raised strictly on a high forage-based ration through their first winter and then pastured until they were 19 months old. From November 1, 2024, they were introduced to a high roughage TMR and developed slowly up until sale time. Cole and Taylor’s breeding program very much compliments this sale as their cows combine some of the best genetics that we use here at Hamilton Farms.

The Giles operation is primarily focused on their 500 head of commercial Angus cows and the purebred cows in their operation are managed in the much the same manner. This is a no-nonsense operation supplying you with no nonsense bulls with extra age.

We very much appreciate the Giles family for offering these bulls in our sale and we would like to take this time to thank Cole for all the work he does for Hamilton Farms throughout the year. If we have cattle to prepare for sales or shows, or pictures to take, or help with delivering bulls, Cole takes care of it for us and does such a good job. The whole Giles family are good friends and great neighbors, and we look forward to many more years of working together.

PLEASANT VALLEY LUTE 1207

Tibbie 170K was purchased by Murvin Abas in our 2023 Sale and has started her “story” with a Hi-Range heifer that fits the mold of that sire group to a T. Immediately you note the quality, balance, and presence that you need to see to appreciate. The females are stunning, lots of middle and hip, but what sets them apart is their eye appeal and swagger. Tibbie 170K is ranked in the top 10% in WW, YW, RADG, Carcass Wt, Ribeye, Fat, Mature Wt, Mature Ht, topped off with a CBI of 341. Pretty impressive! A maternal sister to Tibbie 316B by Showman has spent time in the donor pen so to sum it up, I think you can buy with confidence with Tibbie 190M.

WOODHILL RELEVANCE POSS RELEVANCE

If you wanted to paint a picture of a phenotypically quality heifer, Rosebud 219M might just be your ticket. A moderate heifer with such a functional look and ideal angus character to her head with plenty of expansive rib cage and muscle shape, and plenty of hair! Her dam mirrors her in every aspect, plus she has a picture-perfect udder and attachment. Poss Relevance is full of red meat and muscle with awesome feet. His dam, going back to Hoover Dam, is one of the most influential cows of all time, with 25 daughters retained in the Poss herd. This could be the big-time

female you’ve bee looking for.

“There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow, so today is the right day to get it done.”

Tibbie, a powerhouse heifer out of a moderate, but big volume female with plenty of rib shape and overall substance. Tibbie 229M has a very impressive set of numbers and with the influence of Baldridge Jordan, these have pushed the needle to new heights. Jordan is a unique sire with outstanding EPD balance and ideal phenotype design. The Mill Brae Identified son is anchored by his impressive and productive Confidence Plus dam, which goes back to the famous Baldridge Y69 cow. Jordan ranks #1 for WW, YW, Ribeye and also unprecedented #1 ranking with a CBI of +392!!

This Relevance female has the design to mature into a soggy, deep bodied, sweet fronted, hairy brood cow exactly like her dam. Her dam could be described as the deepest bodied cow we own which is common for Cowboy Up females. Both the dam and granddam have been consistent producers … a bull to Don and Malinda Good for $16,000, a heifer to Lewis Farms for $11,000, a heifer to Bobcat Ranch for $12,000 and two bulls to Jenkins Lazy U for $10,000 and $7,500 and a heifer to Grand River for $8,500. We believe the Poss Relevance females have all the tools in their pedigree to build the right kind of females.

This young Northern Prince female does not give up to the older heifers in the pen. She certainly has all the tools to design a true angus prototype female. Her dam has that youthful demeanor about her even at the age of ten. Her paternal granddam is one of the most prolific females “Rosebud 246Z” to ever walk at Hamilton Farms. In her arsenal are eleven sons that averaged $21,000 mated to various bulls. A maternal brother was purchased by Canadian Sires for $34,000, maternal sisters to Lynden Smith (NE) and Murvin Abas to mention a few.

The Miss Blackcap cow family has been a true genetic gem that just does not get old. They are phenotypically very sound, great presence, correct and will make those great cows that build impressive herd bulls. As impressive as the maternal side of the pedigree, is her sire Northern Prince who captivated tons of attention when he was shown as a calf at Agribition. Injured after CWA, he was unable to be sold in our 2023 Sale and sometimes things happen for a reason. Used sparingly in 2023 has resulted in a handful of very select individuals that rang the bell both bulls and heifers. The dam of Northern Prince, Rosebud 246Z is a matriarch with eleven sons over the years averaging over $21,000 and many going into purebred herds! Guaranteed 256M’s udder will be impeccable, combined with the volume, mass, structure, and hair that Miss Blackcap will bring to the table. Think about what you could build going forward!

“Often, we don’t realize that a moment might be our last with someone, assuming there will always be another chance. We live as if time is limitless, but in reality, it’s fleeting. Cherish every moment, because sometimes, forever is shorter than we think.”

Another Pride heifer out of an exquisitely feminine Alcatraz two year old and she is cool! If she does not catch your eye you may need to get them checked. This female has as much style and presence as any in the pen. The Alcatraz females with their blend of mass, capacity, udder quality and gentle demeanor put together a mid-size package continue to back the current all-stars on offer. Badlands has set new standards of quality, predictability and maternal excellence, fertility, and performance. When you analyse this pedigree there are a lot of golden oldies throughout this power packed pedigree.

The Mistress cow family originated at Hamilton Farms with Mistress 9481, when our son Wacey bought her in 1999 (26 years ago) for a junior project. Three Elite Dams have resulted over the years and as a result we have daughters, grand daughters and great grand daughters still producing a real testament to their ability to thrive and maintain their status within the herd. Mistress 20J was purchased by Stewart Cattle Company in 2022 for $21,000. Her first calf sired by Ellingson Hi-Range topped the females in 2024 at $34,000 to Hilltop Hay & Livestock in Colorado. A maternal sister, 273M sired by one of the breed’s most current, exciting sires in many years, Badlands combines it all. His balanced traits and his incredibly successful dam results in unprecedented consistency in the progeny. The completeness of this pedigree top and bottom is certainly noteworthy!

“Not everyone gets the same version of me. One may tell you I’m a hell of a friend and loyal to the core. Another may tell you I’m a cold-hearted asshole. Believe them both. I don’t treat people poorly, I treat them accordingly.”

KOUPAL ADVANCE 28

The Badlands progeny recently blew the roof off the sale barn during the Ellingson’s Sale in early February. We acquired Badlands semen late in the season of 2023, so most of our calves were born towards the end of our calving period. They might be younger, but they definitely are making an impact! Badlands was the lead off, $80,000 top selling bull in the 2021 Ellingson Sale. He is admired for his sound structural design and his breed character is eye capturing. He is an outlier for combined maternal performance and excellence and his Koupal Advance Pathfinder dam has solidified her position as one of the top females in the breed and as a dam of herd sires. Donor dam Tibbie 205F has become an anchor at Hamilton Farms and a household name in the industry. Maternal brothers at Bar-E-L/Cowtrax $30,000, another to Minert-Simonson in Nebraska and her recent efforts at MWC with a daughter commanding $31,000 to Golden Oak, and a full sibling to 276M at $17,000 to 66 Ranch. Three brothers sell as lots 282M, 291M and 292M and there are three full sisters in the replacement pen. The consistence of the flush was uncanny.

The youngest heifer in the Sale, but do not let that fool you, start moderate and don’t look back. Her Crossfire dam is moderately framed but very easy fleshing and what you might refer to as a beast, with calving ease on their side. An Alcatraz heifer sold to Western Skies Angus (ID), another to JD Pastures, a Showman bull to T&B Harty and yet another heifer by Roper to Travis Lidstone. A no-nonsense female sired by a Showman son out of the famous Evening Tinge cow family.
