On April 7, you will find that we have put together an exceptional, performance oriented group of spring and fall yearling bulls. Whether you are looking to extend the longevity and increase efficiency in your females, add pounds at weaning to your feeder calves -or- you are striving to increase the level of quality and marketability in your purebred programs, we have a bull that will work for you! To the proven pedigrees and tremendous set of EPD’s reflected in these 51 bulls, we add show ring success that speaks for itself. In this offering you will find the Denver bulls from Tubmill Creek’s Res. Champion Pen of Lim-Flex bulls at the 2012 National Western Stock Show plus top bulls from JP Lee’s Hill’s Farm and The Greenbrier Cattle Co. You won’t find a phenotypically stronger set of bulls selling in public auction this spring! These bulls are sure to add growth, fleshing ability and muscle to any herd in any part of the country. After decades of research, it has been proven that Limousin bulls used on an Angus based cowherds will produce up to 20% more pounds of calf per cow exposed due to hybrid advantages at puberty, conception rate, survival to weaning, milk production and increased weaning weight. These hybrid matings will also result in an additional 1.3 years of productive lifespan in terms of cow longevity and 30% greater lifetime production on average! In addition to this impressive data, we feel that in a time when the choice-select spread is less than it has been since 2005 and beef supply is low, that heavier carcass weights and yield grade 1 and 2 cattle with the potential to hit quality grade targets, make a lot of sense. TRUCKING AND DELIVERY...

The three firms offer free delivery within 100 miles of the sale site. Trucking will be arranged by sale management and the owners for delivery to central points after the sale. The firms guarantee trucking to be no greater than $200 per bull.

BULL GUARANTEE...

All bulls selling have passed a Breeding Soundness Exam 30- 45 days prior to the sale. We feel this is the best estimate we have to predict bulls that will go out and service as many cows as possible in the required time period. Although all bulls have passed a BSE, we know certain problems can arise after you receive your purchase. To help ensure your investment, the consignors will guarantee bulls against breeding injury, and to be sound breeders for the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90-day period following the first turnout of the bulls. Checking your bulls prior to turn out each year is cheap insurance to assure your bull is ready to go! If a problem arises, contact us and we will provide a replacement bull if available, or if the buyer prefers, credit toward a bull will be given in the upcoming sale, less salvage value of the injured bull. Please notify us as soon as possible should injury or problem occur and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage.

LIM-FLEX BREED COMPOSITION AND PEDIGREE SPECIFICATIONS ... 1.) Animals registered as Lim-Flex must be 25 to 75 percent Limousin and 25 to 75 percent Angus or Red Angus, with a maximum allowance of another breed or unknown breed composition of 12.5 (1/8th). NOTE Percent Limousin blood is computed using the same NALF calculation and rounding procedures as are used for other categories of registered Limousin. NALF percent Limousin blood of registered Lim-Flex animals is printed on registration certificates and performance records. Breed composition requirements for Lim-Flex animals can originate from parents of any percent blood that meet the sire and dam specifications listed below. 2.) Sires of registered Lim-Flex animals must be registered with NALF or the sire’s respective breed association and have documented pedigree information for parents. 3.) Dams of registered Lim-Flex animals must be documented as from a registered sire included in either the NALF herd book or that of another breed association and have actual blood information recorded. WHY LIM-FLEX? HYBRID VIGOR World’s largest cattle feeder give insight on cattle industry: Tom Brink of Five Rivers Ranch Cattle Feeding challenges producers to crossbreed. Brink states that one trend that will bring more value to beef is the expanding popularity of Angus hybrids. Specifically hybrid bulls of Angus based cows. From a feedlot perspective, Brink believes the hybrid Angus trend will be beneficial to the industry particularly on yield grades. “There have been cutability issues and overly fat cattle that the higher percentage Angus cattle bring to the industry. Our buyers say the ideal Angus percentage is 50 to 75 percent. Part of the reason straight Angus is not a total solution, is hybrid vigor. “Hybrid vigor is still very important at the cow/calf level and you can’t get that by crossing Angus on Angus for multiple generations. But structured crossbreeding has been to hard to implement, especially for small producers. So the hybrid bull is convenient and brings the muscle that continental breeds offer to the table.

For commercial producers this rescaling helps simplify the use of Limousin EPDs by managing the set of ranking benchmarks similar of both breeds. While EPDs of the two breeds cannot be directly compared, if you know the benchmark within the Angus genetic evaluation, you also know the EPD benchmarks within the Limousin evaluation. Twice a year EPDs are recalculated to include any new data that has been submitted to NALF. This is done to keep them up to date and improve accuracies. With this in mind, expect EDPs to change on the animals you purchase. The EPDs for the LimFlex calves reflect the combined EPDs of the Angus Assoc. and the current information in the Limousin EPD bank from the sires and dams of that breed.
