CAROLINE 923J
The first calf from our record-setting Lot 1 a year ago is the logical and best place to kickoff our 2022 offering. This beautiful bred heifer is the product of generations of Cardinal breeding on the bottom side of her pedigree and you will find several of our most notable sires and dams in her pedigree. Her amazing dam was the $100,000-valued Lot 1 of our 2021 female sale to LP Cattle, IL, and she delivered again this year in the form of a very exciting bull calf. Remember that the dam of this heifer is also a maternal sister to Cardinal Crossover, the $105,000-valued record setter of our 2022 Program Bull Sale, and also to the dam of Maddax McCollum’s big-winning Chiangus heifer from the 2022 summer tour, as well as several other elite producers in the Cardinal herd. We lost the matriarch of this family, Erroline 36Z “Caroline”, this summer but not before she was a huge winner for us and later filled our pastures with influential progeny that keep carrying on the family tradition of quality and success. This heifer is great and she keeps getting better.

An awesome half-blood with a sterling pedigree, this heavy-duty matron is a product of some of our most trusted and proven lines. She is by Secret Weapon, a Simmental go-to favorite for style and maternal ability, and out of a gorgeous cow whose second dam is a maternal sister to our noted sire, The Situation. Daughters of The Situation and his sisters have always been among our best producers and they have been behind a very long list of successes for us and our customers; think of bulls like Patriot and Crossover, for instance, plus a slew of national winners for us and others. This gal is engineered for profit and enjoyment and she surely looks the part with her amazing mass, great feet, beautiful udder, and leading power. Due with a MaineTainer baby and carrying the right touches of Simmental, Chi, and Angus from cow families that we know and rely on… this is The Proper Blend and The Program!
An eye-catching, purebred dream girl from the dam of True North, this loud and proud heifer is one of several you’ll need to see and compare in our 2022 offering. She is a young leader in the making – regardless of her color pattern – due to her remarkable build and proven pedigree. She is filled with the right kind of body, bone, and great hair plus she is so powerful and flexible in her spine and columns. Her brother is setting the pace in Canada and the US (you should see the bulls we have coming from him) and this heifer will set a course of her own for you.

Bankroll has worked so well on our Chiangus females and he really clicked with Aristocrat 313W, our former ACA National Champion that has given us years of quality. It is easy to see the premiums in this cow family that is noted for its longevity, and this is another plenty thick, plenty attractive, super-sound rendition but maybe with better hair than some before her. WELCOME TO THE PROGRAM!
Thank you for your interest in our annual female sale and for your continued support of our operation. It is your interest – and our desire to serve you better – that keeps us motivated around here. We want to be your only seed stock supplier and we are willing to work for the privilege.
In the past few years Cardinal Cattle Company has begun a new era. My son, Lucas, has come home to live and work, our sales have greatly expanded, and we are in the process of growing to better accommodate you. Our growth is due to your interest and the expanded use of our genetics around the country. We are excited to see where we can go from here but we will never forget where we started.
Thank you to everyone that makes things work around here. From the Riley family to my family to our helpers and supporters, it takes a real team to keep this boat afloat. Your help is appreciated much more than I will probably ever tell you.
My great friend, Shannon Frankenreider, has decided to push pause on his heifer selling for a bit so this is the first Program Female Sale without him. We will miss him and his cattle and we wish him the best.
This is without a doubt the best set of bred heifers we have ever prepared and sold. I am very proud of them – how they have developed, how they bred, how they handle, how they look – and I am excited to see what they will do for you. We put so much effort in our breeding decisions and many of those moves are showing up well in this set of cattle. Those decisions are also working well for our customers as the past two selling seasons have seen multiple 5 and even 6-figure cattle produced from our genetics. Congratulations to all involved with those successes. I know some more will start this December 10.
Please call if I may be of assistance. Best wishes to you and yours.
