We’re not just committed to the bike and the planet, however. We think a lot about your personal space as well. Dirty is easy. The difficult chemistry comes in designing bike care products that improve the health of the bike without damaging yours. You’ll find no Toluene, Naphtha, PTFE, 2-butoxyethanol, Acetone, or other carcinogens, mutagens, or other general badness in our stuff. On our hardware, we’ve moved away from PVC, hexavalent chrome and lead, and embraced TPU handles, Parkerizing, and other durable and safe finishes. Our eco considerations are important, but even more important is our absolute focus on making top quality, functional, innovate products that last last longer, work better and look good. This is cradle to grave thinking and it provides pleasure for all of us when we use the products.

Wash and Degrease On a scale - how fun is this? It ranks pretty low on our fun-scale, but can be made much better with the right equipment. We develop our cleaning products for performance and with as good environmental profile we possibly can. We have done well with our general purpose wash - Green Fizz. It is a stellar product and completely safe for the bike, for the environment and for you. We have left the use of petrochemical products behind and for our degreaser - Pro J we use citrus oil as solvent. It is a step forward but we hope to do even better with future products. Our wash and degrease products are soluble in water, once they've done their job, wash away with water. The products leave a thin protective film on the bike - you still need new oil on the drivetrain even if we have not left your components completely bare naked.

Green Fizz
New bottle
Green Fizz is an incredible foaming bike wash that has allowed Pedro's to quickly, easily, and effectively wash thousands of bikes around the world at major events from the Sea Otter Classic in California to Riva del Garda in Italy. The washer is different from many other bike wash products because it uses proprietary surfactants, instead of solvents, to lift dirt and grime from the whole bike. The surfactants work quickly on dirt and other contaminants by lowering the surface tension of the dirt molecules and allowing it to be effortlessly wiped or rinsed from the bike. Green Fizz’s biodegradable solvent-free formula can be safely used on all parts and materials, including carbon fiber, without washing away grease and lubricants or damaging delicate parts. The formula can be used straight from the bottle with a rag, sprayed from the bottle and then rinsed with water, or diluted in a bucket or water and used with brushes or other cleaning tools. Whichever way you choose, Green Fizz will leave you with a beautifully clean bicycle.
INSTRUCTION 1. Spray straight from the bottle onto all parts of the bike and let sit for a few minutes. Do not let dry. 2. Rinse well with water using low to medium pressure and then dry with clean rag. 3. Green Fizz can also be used without water using a rag or, for extreme jobs, mixed into a bucket of water. Then dip a brush into the suds and scrub the whole bike. 4. Though Green Fizz will remove some dirt from chains, cassettes and chainrings, Green Fizz is not designed for heavy duty degreasing. In stead, use Pedro's Pro J degreasers for the best results.

Pro J Do you just LOVE degreasing your chain and drivetrain? We didn't think so. However, degreasing your chain and drivetrain is an important part of maintaining your bicycle to ensure good shifting, efficient pedaling, and long life out of your investment. Unfortunately, as you know, it can be an unpleasant, time consuming activity, full of nasty chemicals and wasted degreaser. To solve this problem, Pedro's developed a better solution. Pro J is a professional grade biodegradable degreaser that cuts through the toughest grease, grime, road tar, and dirt with ease. Pro J’s proprietary high viscosity citrus-based formulation visibly coats drivetrain parts and stays where you need it the most. The concentrated power requires less scrubbing and wastes less degreaser and the water soluble formula quickly rinses away with water leaving a spotless drivetrain. We think you'll love it!
Our favorite way to use Pro J is to apply it to the entire drivetrain while it is still dry. Pour the Pro J onto the bristles of a small brush like the Pedro's Toothbrush and then use the brush and a light scrubbing action to coat all the parts. The opaque color tells you exactly where the degreaser has been applied and the high viscosity keeps it there. Sit back a relax for a few minutes while your friends scrub away at their bikes. In 15 minutes or so, rinse off your parts uncovering beautiful, gleaming, clean aluminum and steel. 1. Always shake well before use. 2. Apply to chain, cassette, and chainrings using a brush and light scrubbing motion and let sit for 5-15 minutes. 3. Though not generally necessary, very dirty parts may require additional scrubbing with brush. 4. Rinse well with water using low to medium pressure. Let fully dry before applying lubricant.

Cleaning tools to make the job easier A clean bike is a happy bike! Degreasing your chain is an essential part of maintaining your bicycle to ensure good shifting, efficient pedaling, and long life out of your entire drivetrain. Unfortunately, it can be an unpleasant, time consuming activity, full of nasty chemicals and wasted degreaser. Pedro's hands-free Chain Machine chain cleaner provides a simple, efficient, and effective way to clean your chain without making a mess or wasting valuable degreaser. The Chain Machine is designed with 104 rotating brushes which quickly clean all chain surfaces. You can also buy the chain cleaner as a Chain Cleaner Kit 3.0, with the Chain Machine and a 500ml bottle of Pro J degreaser which will last up to 20 cleanings. A great way to make cleaning easier is to remove your wheels. While this may seem excessive, removing the wheels from your bike opens up many tight areas that are tough to clean, allowing easier access and better visibility of these surfaces.

On top of these tasks, we set ourselves the target to make our products good for the environment and good for you and me. Chainj is a proprietary vegetable/synthetic chain lubricant engineered at the molecular level to associate ionically with metal surfaces creating a protective barrier, and keeping it there, for added life and increased anti-wear properties. As an added bonus, Chainj is biodegradable and a great solvent helping to remove contaminants from the chains.

Additionally, the negative charge, molecule size, and viscosity of Chainj makes it a much better penetrant versus synthetic lubricants. This is beneficial when trying to unfreeze rusty bolts, as 15

Syn Lube for wet, muddy conditions Pedro’s full synthetic lubricant designed to handle the harshest conditions outlast other lubes in all conditions. Syn Lube is formulated with extreme pressure additives, corrosion inhibitors, and tackifiers to provide incredible wear protection, lubrication, and staying power in extreme wet and muddy conditions. Unique polymer detergents also work to break down dirt protecting the surfaces of your chain. Pedro’s first lube is still the best in the worst conditions! This is the product that started it all back in 1989. This break through lubricant revolutionized the entire chain lube market. Syn Lube is the preferred lubricant for any rider looking for incredible lasting performance and in loved by both mountain bikers and cyclocross riders in the worst riding conditions. Bottom line: the original harsh conditions chain lubricant is still the best and we will never stop producing this lube.

Ice Wax 2.0 - for dry conditions Pedro’s natural wax dry lubricant designed for dry to mixed conditions. Pedro's Ice Wax 2.0 has been engineered with advanced chemistry to provide a low viscosity, wet, highly penetrative application that uses a unique detergent base to help push contaminants from the chain. Once dry, the wax forms a dry coating on the surfaces of the chain which provides excellent lubrication, efficiency, and wear and contamination protection. Though best in dry conditions the coating of wax also repels water from puddles or stream crossings. As an added bonus, as Ice Wax 2.0 slowly wears off over time, any contamination on the chain is removed with the wax leaving a cleaner chain. Ice Wax 2.0 is Pedro's simplest lubrication option with low maintenance due to the self cleaning nature. This premium lubricant earns it price by requiring less frequent degreasing and less time scrubbing your chain.

After applying Ice Wax 2.0 to the chain, cycle the drivetrain to evenly coat all surfaces. Then allow 1 hour or more for the lubricant to dry before riding. We suggest applying the night before a ride for the absolute best performance. 1. Always shake well before use. 2. Apply lubricant to the rollers of the chain and backpedal drivetrain 2-3 full rotations to distribute lubricant. The thickness of Ice Wax can vary due to the natural components used. If your Ice Wax is thicker, keep back pedaling for a bit longer or even distribute Ice Wax with your thumb and index finger over the chain. 3. For best performance, wait at least 1 hour before riding. 4. Before riding use a rag to wipe off all excess lubricant from outside surfaces of chain.

Grease Used everywhere from the threads of hardware to the interface between mating components, grease has a tough job when it comes to bicycles. Choosing the correct grease is essential to protect key parts from corrosion and wear, provide high efficiency, and ensure it lasts between servicing in the extreme conditions bicycles encounter. Since cycling occurs outside, it is also important to consider the environmental impact of the grease you choose.
Bio Grease is also formulated to provide excellent oxidative stability, corrosion protection, and extreme pressure/anti-wear protection. Inflation The right tire pressure has more impact on your ride quality than any other components or material A floor pump is one of the best investments a rider can make to keep their bike ready for action. Experts agree that tire pressure, more than any fancy frame material, the latest suspension, or high-tech wheels, affects the ride quality of any bike. In addition to ride quality, tire pressure affects traction for cornering and stopping, rolling efficiency, power transfer, flat prevention, and overall safety. A floor pump will make inflating your tires easier, quickly, and more accurate when compared to other means such as a small hand pump, compressor, or other inflating devices. Choosing the right model depends on how often you plan to use the pump, what inflation pressures you bike's tires require, the type of valve your tubes have and what features the pump has to make inflation easier and quicker.
