GFI inc and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers WESCE recently teamed up to participate in a field evaluation of helicopter landing zones. The objective of the project was to reduce FOD (flying object debris) which is dangerous and damaging to our military operations.

Seeing a CH-47 helicopter landing on a 5000 square foot TRAX PLUS landing pad was a sight to see and a very proud moment. Our team at GFI, inc. with years of experience continue to exceed the expectations of some of our most demanding customers in the world including the USA military. PRICING

The Blackhawk also put TRAX PLUS to the test. A team of two can deploy 800 square feet per man hour using no special tools or equipment. Simply place the TRAX PLUS, insert the bushing, tighten and your are ready to roll! FEC Heliports has designed, manufactured and installed more helipads than anyone else in the world. In addition to the traditional concrete and steel designs, FEC has developed three different pre-fabricated aluminum helipad systems to provide you with the most versatile landing pad on the market today. These aluminum systems are as strong as concrete and their lightweight design is perfect for new construction or adding to your existing building. These permanently portable pads are the perfect choice for rooftop (HELISLAT), ground (HELOMAT), and offshore (HELISLAT II) applications and can also be used to retrofit your worn out concrete pad. FEC Heliports has an extensive in-house staff consisting of engineers, experienced installers and heliport consultants. We are staffed to handle multiple heliports projects and still give your project the first class attention it deserves. In addition to coordinating your entire heliport project, FEC offers a full line of heliport accessories such as perimeter lighting, obstruction lighting, windcones, snowmelting systems, fuel/water separators, and fire suppression equipment.

6000 SERIES ALUMINUM EXTRUSION The HELISLAT is a pre-engineered aluminum design that can be extruded up to 60 feet in length. This tongue and groove design, when properly supported, is capable of handling in excess of 25,000 pounds of gross weight. The HELISLAT can be designed to meet any helipad size requirements. It has an integrated non-slip surface and is coated with an additional non-slip paint to provide protection in all weather. FEC has designed the HELISLAT with an internal snowmelting cavity to accommodate either a glycol snowmelting system or electrical heat cable. This unique design provides superior heat transfer in the harshest snow environments. The HELISLAT is attached to steel or aluminum I-beams and utilizes an FEC designed clamping device to reduce installation time. FEC also provides a neoprene isolation system between the steel and aluminum for dissimilar metal isolation and to help reduce vibration.

6000 SERIES ALUMINUM EXTRUSION The HELOMAT is a pre-engineered aluminum design that is 1 1/2" thick and 2' wide. The HELOMAT panels can be extruded up to 45 feet in length. This interlocking design is capable of handling in excess of 25,000 pounds, and can be designed to meet any size pad. Typically the HELOMAT is used for ground based heliports, instead of a traditional concrete pad. The HELOMAT is a perfect solution for replacing damaged concrete pads. The panels can be placed right over the top of the old helipad. If you facility expands, the HELOMAT helipad can easily be moved to another location. the
