Wants-n-Wishes Campaign 2013-14
with
gratitude
Dear Princeton Montessori Community, Thanks to the generosity of our community, the 2012-13 “Wants-n-Wishes” Annual Campaign was a success! It is truly remarkable that so many of you donated so generously. You should take much pride in knowing that YOU have helped make a difference in the lives of children. A summary of the 2012-13 “Wants-n-Wishes” Annual Campaign: • Over 62% of our parents, 82 % of our faculty, 100% of our dedicated trustees, and 37% of our alumni and friends who we reached out to made a donation, which allowed us to reach our goal of $125,000. • 29 teachers and staff members were recognized with a Gift of Gratitude for donations over $1,000. • Over 25 teachers were able to attend workshops, conferences or other professional development opportunities. • Four children received a full scholarship to SummerQuest as a result of your donations. • Program enhancement “Wishes” were fulfilled as a direct result of the 2012-13 Campaign. The culmination of your donations allowed the School to give new life to the Freedom gardens; purchase mathematical fraction materials, new geography materials, and reference books for various programs; and fund enhancements to the toddler and infant play spaces. On behalf of the Princeton Montessori Trustees and Parent Leaders, we extend our gratitude all of you who donated to the 2012-13 campaign. We are delighted to see your name among the list of our caring contributors. We thank you for your ongoing support, and hope we can count on you to make this year’s “Wants-n-Wishes” Campaign an even greater success. We are thrilled to have you as part of our Princeton Montessori Community! Sincerely, Peter Egbert

Help us surpass our $150,000 goal We are pleased to announce the launch of this year’s Wants-n-Wishes Campaign. With your help, we can surpass our goal of raising $150,000 with 100% participation by all families within 100 days - a realistic target given the past philanthropic history of the Princeton Montessori School community. Donations to the Wants-n-Wishes Campaign support professional development opportunities for teachers, classroom materials and program enhancements. Each donation helps get us closer to 100% participation. Large or small, your donation is needed and appreciated. Below is a sampling of this year’s requests. Consider making the teachers’ Wants-n-Wishes come true! • Elementary and Middle School Cultural Field Trips • Junior I Musical Sponsorship • Junior 2 Operetta Sponsorship • Montessori Model United Nations Program • Assemblies Sponsorship • Iris Garden Outside the Imaginarium Art Studio • Requests for Classroom Materials in All Programs • New Infant & Toddler Carpets • Archery Supplies and Shed for Elementary and Middle School For more information about this year’s Wants-n-Wishes, visit us at princetonmontessori.org or contact Kathy Marmion at kmarmion@pmonts.org.
your
gifts at work
Your gift to the Wants-n-Wishes Campaign has a direct impact on the everyday lives of our students. Like most independent schools and colleges, tuition does not cover all of the costs of providing services to our children. Wants-n-Wishes makes up the difference between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating students. However, unlike tuition, donations to Wants-n-Wishes are tax-deductible. Interested in designating a gift? The following are two special funds designed for more purposeful giving.
SummerQuest Scholarships Could you help to make another memorable summer for at least one child this summer? Generous donations from our grandparents, along with current parents, faculty, alumni students and alumni families, enable us to offer full SummerQuest Scholarships for local children who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the wonder of a Montessori classroom. Your gift to the SummerQuest Scholarship Fund is sure to have a positive impact on the future life of up to four students this summer. Grade 5 To ddler —

New this year!
Legacy Fund for Teacher Professional Development A new fund in the life of the School, the Legacy Fund’s first honoree is Marsha Stencel, for whom professional development has been a key priority in her 37 years of directing our worldclass school. What better way to show your appreciation of Marsha AND our talented Montessori teachers? Your gift to the Legacy Fund provides opportunities for our talented teachers to attend educational conferences and pursue Montessori training. Last year, teachers attended Learning and the Brain Symposium, American Montessori Society (AMS) Annual Conference, National Science Teachers Conference, and the Model United Nations Program teacher workshop. In addition, three teachers received honorariums for MACAR training — Montessori Accreditation for Children at Risk (Reading).
