Call to Worship

Scarlatti by Steve Garnaas-Holmes

Creator God, for life and beauty we praise you. We are full of joy and gratitude! Loving Christ, for grace and mercy, we thank you. We are full of joy and gratitude! Holy Spirit, in your life-changing power we worship you. We are full of joy and gratitude! Alleluia!

God of gentle mercy, we confess our sin, for it has become a burden to us that we cannot bear. There are things we have done and things we have left undone. We bring these moments to you now in the silence of our hearts. . . {pause for prayer} Merciful God, forgive us. We have not loved you with our whole heart. We have put our trust in ourselves, in institutions and systems. We forget about your care and fail to notice your presence. We bring these moments to you now in silence of our hearts. . . {pause for prayer} Merciful God, forgive us. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have hurt some people and we have ignored the hurt of others. We bring these moments to you now in the silence of our hearts. . .

Prayers of the People The Lord's Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kin-dom come; your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kin-dom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Offertory
