The General Assembly is like a world council of nations. Each country, big or small, rich or poor has one vote at meetings in which decisions are made. 联合国大会就像一个世界性的会议，在每做出一项决定时，每个国家都有一次投票的权 利，不管这个国家大还是小，富有还是贫穷.

The Security Council is the organ of the United Nations that is responsible for working towards international peace. It has 5 permanent member countries – China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States of America. It also has 10 non-permanent member countries that are elected by the General Assembly. The United Nations has tried to resolve many conflicts in the world. However, we are not always successful. 联合国试图着解决世界上的很多冲突，然而我们并不是总能获得成功.

The United Nations has done a lot of good work in bringing peace to certain parts of the world, BUT has been less successful in other parts; and so our search for peace CONTINUES…… 联合国在为世界某些地区带来和平的过程中做 了大量很好的工作，但是在另外一些地区不是 很成功，所以他们的使命是无止境的…..
