Barcelona, October 30th 2015 My name is Pilar Ripoll. I am a student from Barcelona. In two years I hope to graduate with a high grade degree in Industrial Design Engineering and also in Product design at ELISAVA, Pompeu Fabra. My two degrees are centred specifically in product design and engineer skills. We focus in product design as a global design gaining valuable knowledge of generating ideas from concepts to physical prototypes. More specifically, I have done software simulation programs, such as Pc Creo2.0, SolidWorks, Rhinoceros; also some graphic design programs, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and PremierPro. Additionally, I have drafted projects outlines and reports in different subjects related to my studies. I love working with other people and enjoy the challenge of beautiful and intuitive experiences. I also like to spend my life travelling but I don’t have all the time this opportunity. about me
Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Pilar Ripoll Azuara. I’m a Product Design and Engineer in Product Design student, but I am interested in a broad rang of disciplines including, Graphic Design and photography and I have some skills to develop projects in these specialities. My wish is to combine my knowledge and my passions in these areas, delivering my best creative part and my dedication to the companies. I’m extrovert, expressive and enthusiastic, this allows me to position myself in different ideologies of business and provide coherent projects to satisfy your needs. I am also organized and perfectionist. This allowed me to participate successfully in glass, toys (IMC Toys) and fashion (Aldo Shoes) workshops, generating creative ideas with the possibility to be applied to the different industries. Nowadays, I am working part-time for a small studio in Barcelona, Toni Miret Studio. I organise the photography production, improving the process making it faster and more convenient. I am also a photography assitant and encharged of the photo retouching for product brands such as San Miguel. I am currently available to participate in an Internship or collaboration for all kinds of design-based projects. shower GEL, SHAMPOO & tissues Stora Enso company launched a challenge and we were asked to redesign the conventional travel packaging. The principal goal was to recreate the travel packaging in order to make travelling easier, smarter and more responsible from a consumer’s point of view. It was stipulated that the design had to be three healthcare or beauty products left to the discretion of the designer.
We noted that we have all the time problems with gels and shampoos because they are bigger than the limited volume we can carry on airplanes. Another thing that we considered important for women and men are the wet wipe tissues. We don’t usually think about them but they are always useful. We started thinking about origami, and how to fold paper for saving space in the baggage and moreover creating an interesting shape.
Finally, we found a decagon volum that allows to contain 100ml and compresses itself when is empty for saving space. We used this packaging with gel, shampoo and wipes.
Furthermore, we were looking for travel packaging solutions that stand out from what we see and based our experience today. This packaging is ergonomic because it fits in our hands, but the shape is different from what we know.
We used Ensocoat material, like Tetra Brik, in order to conform to regulations. The cap was made with plastic injection. So, we must recycle all in a plastic container. All the graphic design is in relief embossing to exploit the possibilities of the material
Colours Two colour palettes and two different fragances have been chosen, one for men and another one for women, to distinguish between sexes.

NEW MATERIALS co2renov The Mad Fat is a cultural institution that’s become the first reference center of design and architecture in Barcelona.
We had to find a new application to an already invented material but which have not used it in the chosen field.
In the last floor of this property there are a “library” of samples of new materials existing in the market. Each has its data sheet with the areas in which they are used, we can also find the suppliers and other information of interest.
GeoSilex® is a paste additive which is obtained by recycling the acetylene manufacturing waste and has the ability to absorb CO2. Is used especially in architecture for sustainable buildings as an additive for concrete. It is clear that larger scale becomes more interesting the use of paste, but it is not yet acquired.
