Semester 5 | III year

CULTURAL AND PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE (CONTOUR DESIGN) Semester 06 | year III

A theatre of the city’s culture... The sixth semester design objective was to create a cultural and performing arts centre on a contour site beside a lake at Bhopal. The objective was to create an effective user experience ,reect the city’s culture.

The approach was to create PATTERNS powerful and vibrating enough to hold people and completely make them a part of the space which feels no new, better absorbed at every step, an illustration of their own region and worthy enough of leaving a great impact on their minds.

The performing culture is an assimilation of various expressions, conveying messages in different forms. In the vast Hindu culture each performing art arouses out basic nine expressions-NAVRASA, the knowledge of each string of the subject of interest will make the users more leaned towards it.

The design tries to create a ‘HABITAT’ which theaters the culture of the city .A habitat where people will perceive each space ,get involved with it and eventually become a part of the space simultaneously being connected to nature.

Frames, glimpses of spaces and foregrounds makes people interact with the places and become a part of them in a better way. The beauty lies in arousing the senses by the water at the shores and submerging into the essence of the space NOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY. VIEW FROM THE CLUSTER COURTYARD

RURAL DESIGN STUDIO(M.P.)

Rural India has always been a sustainable system. It is not just architecture but a series of layer of design systems ,culture, community, artifacts, technology which are interwoven to form a complete sustainable system. This system focused on exposing participants to make them sensitive to the fact that rural India is very rich in design and so is sustainable.

The following is the documentation of the vernacular building DOCUMENTATION AT techniques and native houses at Dharamshala which has a monsoon humid subtropical climate. The documentation was DHARAMSHALA (H.P.) carried out to understand local building techniques to create a climate responsive design .

TURIYA:Largest among the three villages is located at the entry gate of pench national park, and this has brought winds of change to this village's economy. Quite a few people are drawn to new professions like jungle safari drivers, and guides. It has also changed the architectural character on periphery but in the inner areas, the village still retains its art and architecture in full glorty. SITE PLAN

PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHRASES....

IMMORTAL yet MORTAL parts people are As sugar which gets dissolved but sweetens.. Presence is limited but essence is limitless In silence,in the other world Their touch ,voice and actions can still be predicted connectivity remains unaltered Just that they are made mortal

Every aspect of the story was needed to be known ,before arriving to the conclusion.

Waiting for a pause, She sits on the looped streets

DESTROYED YET PRESERVED-The value didn't always remain in the COMPLETENESS.It lied in the Will for permanence and strength.

Proximity and choices Have their own voices.

Time teaches us everything Governs who we are and will be The one who decided to move with it Realised their purpose of existence It was of nobody No one could overpower it Every human made mistakes Mistakes which helped him prosper Made him realise Keep Moving ! The value was known by none Not once realised ignored by none!
