01. A BIRD’S EYE VIEW The idea of this environmental center centers around the protection of habitat for various bird species around Blue Bell park. This will target issues in the problem of habitat loss and deforestation. Deforestation is a major issue especially for birds, since many of them rely on trees for their own form of shelter. The overall design of this building will be a sort of nested feeling, basing the idea off of the general idea of how a nest is constructed by birds. It will create this feeling of reaching out from the urban environment into a natural setting through pods that feature certain views throughout the education center. The idea is for these pods to reach both into the ground for birds that scavenge and up high to get a better understanding of the setting in which these birds live in.It will channel them in a way where it will introduce the problem, talk about the causes and what humans can do to provide a solution for the birds even if it at a small scale. Ultimately, this education center aims to educate people on how to identify certain birds in order to help them adapt to a different setting in the case that they are out of their natural habitat.

02. INVASIVE TERRITORY GROUP PROJECT This architectural space is focused on the scientific fictional works of H.G. Wells. It is designed to resonate his futuristic ideologies of aliens, invasions and walking through time. In this underground pod, a user of the space would be able to feel that concept through the high ceiling to the base of the ground above them and the slow progression of circulation to the very bottom of the sphere. This space aims to recreate many of Well’s ideologies about creating a perfect futuristic utopia.

FIRST FLOOR ENTRY
Users are met with an initial grand introductory space overlooking the structure from the top.
RECEPTION
Moving through the catwalk, a lone reception desk greets the people, forcing their circulation to the ramp leading to the next lower mezzanine level.
VISUAL ARCHIVES
The visual archives act as an introduction to the museum and as a finishing element for users once completing the full experience.

SECOND FLOOR RESTROOMS CURATOR’S OFFICE
The curator’s office views the reading room and archives allowing for opportunites to monitor the reading rooms archives.
READING ROOM/ARCHIVES
The archives and the readings rooms showcase the works of H.G. Wells. It provides opporutnities for users to learn more about the esteemed author and perform further research
THIRD FLOOR COMMON AREA
This acts as a common area between employees and the visitors. It provides as a space of relief.

FOURTH FLOOR MEDITATIVE SPACE
The meditative space is a reflective room which emphasizes the grandiosity of the space. Users will be able to look from the bottom of the dome all the way to the top of the ground level.
SPATIAL INTENSITY & HIERARCHY THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM OF THE STRUCTURE CARRY MOST OF THE INTESITY IN TERMS OF FEELING AND EMOTION. THE HIGH CEILINGS (GREEN) ALLOW A USER TO FEEL SMALL WHILE THE COMPRESSED SPACES (RED) EVOKE A SENSE OF DISCOMFORT
CIRCULATION THE CIRCULATION OF THE SPACE IS DEPENDANT ON THE ROTATIONAL DESCENT OF THE SPACE WHICH IS CREATED BY THE RAMPS THAT CIRCLE AROUND.

03. R H Y T H M I C J U N C T U R E GROUP PROJECT Located at the corner of 19th Street and Cherry Street, Rhythmic Juncture provides an illuminated performance space to activate the previously under-used area. Surrounded by the commercial, institutional, and residential district, the installation invites the public through three openings which correspond to the three different districts. Everyone from businesspeople to tourists to residents can be united through sharing a common experience underneath the illuminated ring.

NIGHT - LIGHT SHADOW EFFECT
DAY - SUN LIGHT SHADOW EFFECT
This project focused primarily on using color and light to create a playful exploration of shadows. The night lights display a more ambient glow of light versus the daylight which creates physical spots of color within the space while also providing an area of refuge for the users of the space.

04. T E S S E L A T I O N Tessellation is an interactive wall structure using varying sizes of operable triangles. It is located on the corner of Kelly Drive and Calumet Street along the street facing the river. It creates an interactive environment for people of all ages using glass and steel. It is hung on suspension cords along a mesh to provide a loose, fluid structure while also being manually operable. The purpose of this project is to create an interactive environment for the people of East Falls, a place where they can create a community and bring in the essence of the community into that space.

SITE PLAN
This structure uses pushing pins in a system of a two layered wall. The pins attach to the suspension cables which in turn are connected to the glass pieces. As the pin moves into the two wall panels, the triangles will pull themselves towards their connection point. As the pin is pulled out, the triangles will separate and exhibit spearation between those triangles. Along the back of the glass is space for vegetation that adds another layer of sceening into the garage space. The glass is held through pins that cuff around the glass. Those cuffs connect to the cables which are able to hold in tension. At certain centerpoints, the operable pins are connected to the cables and are movable at those points. They pass in and out of the aluminum mesh until they are reach the limit of mobility.
ELEVATION - KELLY DRIVE
MAIN SET PINS - HOLD UP CABLES ALUMINUM MESH GRID -
This section view shows the interaction between user and structure. As seen within the detail of the wall, there are multiple operable pins within reaching distance for people of all heights and sizes. This allows for the dynamism to be explored as everyone interacts with each other through this wall.
OPERABLE PINS FROSTED GLASS MAIN STEEL FRAME
VEGETATION
The vegetation creates a secondary barrier screen to block the view to the interior of the garage. This could also provide to be a way to make use of stormwater runnoff instead of letting it flow into the river
ALUMINUM MESH
Aluminum Mesh will allow for structural support as well as a providing a base for the vegetation to grow on. The vegetation provides a secondary means of covering into the garage
STEEL GRID
This grid is is constructed out of steel to provide the main basic structural support required to hold up the components of the glass wall
OPERABLE GLASS PANES The glass panes are the front layer of this structure. Attached and hung from the suspension cables, they provide a sort of dynamism and fluidity through the mobility of the window panes.
SUSPENSION CORDS & CABLES The suspension cords run along the top and bottom of the structure. They attach to the triangular pieces of glass and have enough flexibility that they are able to move and act fluidly.
OPERABLE PINS These pins can push and pull through the second screen of aluminum mesh and vegetation. They act through several notches which allow different distances from the mesh. They push against the tension cables which connect to the glass. This allows a user to push and pull the glass creating varying shapes.
