Waste to Energy Recycling Plant + Greenhouse Profe ssor : Stepha n ie Ba ya rd Pro jec t with Moneesha Kum ar
A studio project with a brief to design waste to energy recycling plant with greenhouse speculates the opportunties to blur the boundaries between various stages of industrial process of the factory. The formal language of the project resembles the industrial parts which are the core of the project by blending them into the architecture. Interiors follow the similar architectural language to carve the spaces that allows the users to experience different scale and volumes. The scale of project relates to the context of the site.

Mixed-Residential Housing Tower Profe ssor : Thoma s Lesser Pro jec t with Sara Brandt
The project explores the use of carving as a form of interconnectivity, a generator of community, and a unification of existing and new in the Farragut Housing Project. The carving system wraps around a new residential tower and extends to the existing Farragut towers, revitalizing the local community through direct access to multi-level exterior circulation and cultural gathering space.

Volumes and voids creates the opportunity for allocation of formal and informal spaces by providing flexible space to the user of the space. Punctured solids to add an element of interconnecting levels. Massing creating myriad voids and spaces allowing physical and visual interaction among the levels.

Undulating lines, contoured planes with gradually decreasing contours with amalgamation of fragments from object leads to ground development. Ground generated out of amalgamation of manifestation of fragments, use of contours, undulations, free flowing curve blurs the boundaries between built structure and ground.

An attempt to create an illusionary space which introduce an element of fiction in architecture. Elements are classified into large, medium and small scale melting together to develop a fictional space comprising of varied elements.Spheres, arches, carved elements alongwith the use of straight lines in the form develop an architectural language that is reflected in the development of the whole.
