Congratulations on your purchase. You are now the owner of the most innovative electrical bicycle on the market. The eVox® is in fact propelled by the DynaMeTM propulsion system with its unique dual-core motor that integrates the bottom bracket with the belt drive. This powerful yet c ompact motor allows you to climb 15% grades yet offers no resistance to p edaling in Bicycle mode (without power assist). In addition, the fast-charging provides unlimited range. In this way, the eVox gives you unequaled riding comfort, letting you go Faster, Further, Easier! Before riding your new eVox, carefully read the brief instructions contained in this manual. They will familiarize you with its features and ensure continued proper operation so that you may enjoy many years of pleasurable and safe cycling.

After a complete stop of more than five minutes, the control display goes into “Standby” mode and turns itself off. This is a safety precaution to avoid an accidental activation. Assistance Modes: Press on the MODE (A) button to choose between the three different modes: Liberty Pedelec Bicycle
LIBERTY MODE: This mode lets you use the bicycle without pedaling, by rotating the throttle located on the right of the handlebar. Your speed will depend on the power level you select. PEDELEC MODE: In this mode, you must pedal and use the speed s elector located on the left side of the handlebar. Your effort and speed will depend on the level of assistance that you choose. Basically, you are using the eVox like a conventional bicycle while benefiting from t he assistance of the DynaMe propulsion system. BICYCLE MODE: This mode lets you use your eVox just like a conventional bicycle. No resistance from the motor is felt due to DynaMe’s unique clutch disengaging system. (Note: No symbol is displayed on the control display and you must use the left stick to select the 8-speed lever on the left.)

Starting and safety features
There are three safety features for the power supply on your eVox. These features were added to your eVox to increase safety and avoid accidents when riding or transporting the eVox. • The green button on the right of the handlebar must first be pressed in order to leave “Standby” mode and start the control display. • A speed sensor deactivates the propulsion system whenever the bicycle is stopped. To take advantage of the electric assistance, a minimum speed must be reached :
4 km/h (2.5 mph) in PEDELEC mode 3 km/h (1.9 mph) in LIBERTY mode
Simply pedal as on a conventional bicycle, and once the required speed has been reached, the propulsion system can be engaged. • Also, a power cut-off switch is activated when either brake lever is applied.

Tips : To insure optimal battery performance and extend its lifespan, it is advised to completely charge your battery before your first bike ride, after a long period of disuse, or following a ride. • It is best to charge the battery at temperatures between 0°C (32°F) and 40°C (104°F). • Do not leave the charger connected to the battery longer than 24 hours. • Remove the charger from the bicycle when it is not planned to charge the battery during the ride. This will lighten the bicycle.

TIPS AND SAFETY FEATURES
6.1 Riding an eVox bicycle For your own safety and that of others, take time to familiarize yourself with your new eVox by gradually progressing through the levels of power and the different modes. The eVox allows you to maintain a top speed higher than that of a c onventional bicycle. It is therefore recommended to reduce power to level 4 or lower on bike paths or areas of heavy traffic. Note that traffic laws apply to the eVox as with any other road vehicle. Additionally, Canadian law requires the wearing of a helmet when riding an electrically assisted bicycle. The rear carrier can support up to 18 kg. It is not recommended to o verload the bicycle or tow an excessively heavy load. An incorrectly balanced load may destabilize the bicycle or increase the braking distance and risk causing an accident. A trailer weighing 23 kg or less may be towed only if no luggage is being carried on the rear carrier. It is recommended to remove the charger when it is anticipated that charging on the ride is not necessary.
14 6.2 Battery • Only use the eVox charger for charging the battery. • Do not use the battery for purposes other than powering the eVox bicycle. • Avoid exposing the battery to sources of heat. • Do not submerse the battery and avoid exposure to water. • Do not disassemble or modify the battery. • When storing, remove the battery from the bicycle, keep it in a cool place, and charge it once every three months. • Do not short circuit the output terminals of the battery. • Recycle the battery. Do not dispose of in the trash. • Keep the battery out of the reach of children. Also take note of the information found on the back of the battery.
15 6.3 Charger • Only use the charger for the battery of the eVox bicycle. • Avoid any impact to the charger. • Make sure that the connectors are clean and dry before charging. • Avoid exposing the charger to water. • Never cover the charger or expose it to direct sunlight during charging. • Never disassemble the charger. • Keep the charger out of the reach of children. Also take note of the information found on the back of the charger.
6.4 Storing When storing your eVox, fully charge the battery. Remove the battery and the charger from the bicycle and store them in a cool place, and in order to optimize its capacity, charge the battery once every three months. When used and maintained properly, battery life is approximately 1000 cycles.
6.5 Standards This electric vehicle is an assisted bicycle and complies with Standard 1.2.1 of the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.

MAINTENANCE
Use a soft cloth and a neutral cleaning product to clean any dirt from the plastic components. Wipe off with a dry cloth. NEVER USE A HIGH-PRESSURE WASHER OR COMPRESSOR TO CLEAN YOUR EVOX. THESE DEVICES CAN FORCE WATER INTO THE ELECTRIC COMPONENTS AND DAMAGE THEM. Avoid leaving your eVox outside. Even if the components are waterproof, it is best not to leave your eVox outside when you are not using it. You will also lessen the harmful effects of the sun’s ultraviolet rays which can cause discolouration of the paint and cracking of the rubber and plastic parts. Battery maintenance Be sure to fully charge your battery after each ride. In addition, charge your battery every three months whenever it is stored for long periods. These precautions will assure better performance and a longer lifespan.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• The battery must be charged before use. • Do not incinerate or mutilate the battery; it can explode or release toxic material. • Do not disassemble the battery. Instead return it to your authorised eVox dealer for service and recycling. • Always store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. • Never charge the battery at temperatures below 0° C (32°F) or above 40°C (104°F). • When transporting the bicycle on a car rack, always remove the battery and the charger. It is also recommended to cover the control display with a plastic bag to protect it from dirt and road debris. • For detailed information concerning service, repairs, and maintenance, please contact your authorised dealer.
