Molnar Funeral Homes

■ If a business is only as good as the team that runs it, then Molnar Funeral Homes is top tier.

As the leading funeral service Downriver and in the surrounding area, Molnar is dedicated to providing exceptional service to every family that entrusts them with their loved ones. Since its founding in 1923 by Hungarian immigrant, John Molnar Sr., Molnar Funeral Homes has been owned and operated by the same family.

Following the untimely death of both John Molnar Sr. and his son, John F. Molnar in the late 50’s, the business has experienced tremendous growth and flourished to acquire their third and fourth locations in 2016.

Today, Molnar is led by licensed funeral directors, Angela M. Molnar-Ferguson, of the 4th generation, and her husband, Larry A. Ferguson. Although in semi-retirement,

John S. Molnar, of the 3rd generation, remains a steadfast presence in the daily operations.

In its near century since opening, Molnar has not only grown from a home-based funeral home to four unique and beautifully appointed chapels, but they have also expanded their services and cultivated a team of compassionate professionals who are proud to serve families during a difficult time. Molnar offers burial services, on-site cremation, preplanning services, and a one of a kind graphic design center. They have the ability to make custom keepsakes for families, ensuring memorable celebrations of life. All of this has been made possible with the help of the talented Molnar team.

The Molnar team consists of 15 licensed funeral directors including John, Angela, and Larry; two pre-need specialists; and many team members including graphic designers, administrative assistants, support staff, and maintenance that help the business thrive. While not all from the Downriver area, Angela says “We are an integral part of the communities that we are located in, and fortunate to have several employees involved in both civic and community organizations.”
