Profile Who is Who at City Hall?

This time around, we would like to introduce you to the Woodhaven Fire Chief

Brad Myles. Brad’s parents built a house in Woodhaven in 1969 and his father, Chet, served the citizens of Woodhaven for 15 years as a firefighter. As a young child, Brad was lucky to spend a lot of time around the fire stations and it seemed a natural choice for him to become a second-generation firefighter. Brad started his career in October 1996 as a part-time firefighter and in December of 1999, he was hired as one of the first six (6) full-time firefighters for the City of Woodhaven. Brad was promoted to Fire Chief in October of 2021 and has currently served the community for al-

most 28 years.

Brad and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 33 years and have two children. Travis and Brooke are both nurses for the University of Michigan Hospital System and the family also includes a fur-baby named Maggie, who is a Goldendoodle.

Fire Chief, Brad Myles

Brad enjoys living in the community he serves and has loved watching the area grow and develop into a thriving and much sought after place to live and work. He shared with us that he believes the services provided through the various departments in the city are a large part of what makes Woodhaven such a special place.

In his spare time, Fire Chief Myles enjoys playing golf, swimming and spending time with his family. •

Woodhaven Fire Chief Brad Myles stands with enthusiastic students at school events, fostering community connections. In another photo, he proudly poses with fellow dedicated firefighters.

ABOUT

Being Digital

In today’s busy world, the need to stay connected has become part of daily life. It’s become especially important for parents who need to stay in touch with their children – not only about their social lives, but also about their scholastic lives. To that end, our district has a number of ways to stay in touch electronically with our students, our parents and our community. Our district website – mywbsd. org – hosts core district information, as well as links to every school and programs within our community. Drop downs and clickable links can

put you in touch with whatever program or service you need. But our digital footprint doesn’t end with our website.

Parents can use our special parent portal to check the status of their students’ progress in real time. To get started, ask your student’s school office for login information – or call the district office at 734.783.3300.

We also have an engaging mobile presence that provides yet additional layers of real-time communication.

First, you can follow us on Facebook by searching for “Woodhaven-Brownstown

School District.” Next, you can follow our hashtags on Twitter at: #WhyWBSD and @WBSDStrong and on Instagram #WBSDRelentless We also use Instagram accounts – via school specific social media platforms, so check with your school.

Finally, you can download the district’s app and gain access to everything you need right at your fingertips including the Live Feed, Events, and access to Parent Connect just to name a few. Download the new app in your phone’s app store today or click on the QR code above. n
