Project Lighting Design is an independent lighting consultancy firm which is based in Singapore. The firm has also established an office in Bangkok, as well as affiliate firms in Dubai and London under the name Light Touch PLD Ltd. The practice operates internationally on a broad spectrum of project types. This includes hospitality and leisure, high-end retail malls, commercial buildings, museums and exhibition centres, urban strategies and exterior landscape.

STEPHEN GOUGH

FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL Stephen Gough is the founder and principal of Project Lighting Design Pte Ltd and has over 30 years of experience in architectural lighting design. During this time he has been involved in some of Asia’s most iconic developments including MARINA BAY SANDS SINGAPORE Integrated Resort, Singapore Flyer (Giant Observation Wheel), The Fullerton Hotel, Ritz Carlton Pudong, Shanghai IFC Mall and the Four Seasons Hong Kong at IFC. Under Stephen’s leadership, PLD has also completed a number of large scale developments in the Middle East, most notably the Dubai Mall (the world’s largest retail complex), exterior lighting masterplan of the Old Town Commercial Island in Dubai, the Park Hyatt Dubai and the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi. As a member of the Singapore Urban Development Authority Civic District Advisory Board for Lighting, Stephen joins a panel of experienced lighting professionals providing critique on facade lighting for new notable buildings which shape the city’s skyline.

Xiao Hong has a Degree in Engineering (BA/1992) from the Shanghai University of Technology. She joined PLD in 1996 and has worked on many local and International projects.

Peggy graduated from NUS School of Architecture with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1998. She worked in Tokyo and Singapore with Lighting Planners Associates before joining Project Lighting Design in 2005. She has worked on a broad range of interior and exterior lighting projects including masterplanning, hospitality and restaurants.

Wee Ping graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Architecture. He joined PLD after two and a half years of working as a Design Architect.

Na graduated from the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 2000. After working in architecture for 3 years, she moved to London in 2004 where she undertook further studies in the University College London and graduated in 2005 with a Master of Science in Built Environment specializing in Lighting. She returned to Bangkok and worked as a Lighting Designer for 2 years before joining PLD in 2007.

Chanikarn (Link) Vatakapaibool holds an MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons. She has more than 8 years of experience in lighting design and has a successful track record of designing and delivering a diverse range of projects in cities spanning North America, Europe and Asia.
