When it comes to seating there is almost an unlimited amount of chairs in a myryad of styles, shapes, colors, quality and seating comfort available in the market place, we are well aware that the buying process can be predicated on several factors, To cut trough some of the clutter in this issue we focus on some of best seating available, new as well as classics and the people behind them.

We went to Copenhagen Denmark to attend 3 days of Design During the event we saw some of the some of the latest and inspiring products

Over the years, Susanne Grønlund has been responsible for the design and development of a selection of furniture and other design products and has received a number of internationally recognized design awards such as: 3x RedDot Award, 4xNorwegian Design Council Design Award, 2xGood Design Award (USA), German Design Award and Gold Award

“For me, it’s about creating a complete piece of furniture The materials are carefully combined, so the user can’t see how the furniture is assembled The elegant interplay between the stainless steel and solid wood results in a natural whole It’s the details that give the furniture a voice and make a difference for the user Therefore it’s important to me, that the user feels comfortable in the furniture ” read it

Athene is a chair with strong roots in history, combining Danish and international design traditions with its elaborate wood, slim design, and high sitting comfort The chair’s graphic curves blend well with the frame, giving the chair a modest lightness that fits perfectly in the modern home The light base with swivel lifts the upper part of the chair elegantly from the floor, thus completing Athene as both a distinctive and very elaborate chair The chair is made with a swivel function that, together with the upholstered elements, makes the Athene chair comfortable to sit in for an entire evening or working day

In the development of the Primum Collection chair were ergonomics and comfort The Primum chair is a piece with a wraparound backrest The chair is well supported by robust legs that provide just enough material for integrated solid joints These smoothly interconnect with the seat, creating the distinct lines that build the chair's character

Nataša Perković is a product designer from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina She aims to fuse aesthetic value with innovation and commerce. This is Nataša’s way of inspiring people to enjoy her design sensibilities for many years to come. Nataša lectures at the Department of Product Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. Currently on a semester's study leave, she operates from the Design Lab at the Kyoto Institute of Technology in Japan
