Chrysalis 2015 Application Form Introduction In 2015 Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS) will launch a pilot of the ‘Chrysalis’ festival – a new high-profile platform for ambitious and provocative performance by young theatre-makers. Chrysalis aims to:

Dates, venue and programme Friday 6 – Saturday 7 November, 2015 – Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. 4 selected shows will each be performed twice over the 2 day festival.
Application criteria Performance participants should be aged 16-25*. The work presented must be new (i.e. created within a year of application). A live performance of the work should be available to view between February and June 2015*. Applications of the same performance for the National Festival of Youth Theatre (also produced by YTAS) and Chrysalis within the same year will not be permitted. Applicants must be YTAS member organisations or willing to become a member if selected. Applicants must demonstrate strong advanced preparation in their application (this can include supporting material).
Applications must be a joint effort between the group leader/practitioner and their young theatremakers.
* The consortium will consider minor adjustments to these criteria under exceptional circumstances, e.g. a single cast member who is over 25 or video footage to accompany applications from outside the UK.

Timeline Applications for Chrysalis 2015 are welcomed from any eligible youth theatre groups from within or out with Scotland. Application will be via an online form and applicants will be encouraged to include supporting material (e.g. video footage of recent work). The timeline is as follows:
