NFYT Summer Gathering 2011 INFORMATION FORM Dear Group, The National Festival of Youth Theatre 2010 was Promote YT’s biggest event to date hosting 18 performances, 36 workshops and over 350 participants. To follow on from this success we are delighted to announce a continued partnership with the Arts & Theatres Trust for Fife (AttFife) which, for the first time, will see the NFYT fixed in its location to allow us to react to evaluation, build capacity and enhance the profile and impact of the event.

In addition to building the performance and workshop programme we will be putting in place the following developments: Youth involvement in the creation of the event through our online WISE UP project.

An advanced NFYT ‘Fact Finding Day’ offering free information, advice and workshops to prospective group leaders.

Improved performance facilities.

A supporting programme of workshops and talks for group leaders / adults.

Increased marketing and profile.

Healthier catering and improved camping facilities… but sadly we can’t control the weather!

If your group is keen to be involved in the 2011 event either as performers or participants then please read the following information and then forward an NFYT 2011 ‘NOTE-OF-INTEREST’ FORM to us BEFORE January 19th 2011: VENUE: The NFYT 2011 will return to the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, Fife as the main event venue supported by smaller local-based locations. The residential side of the event will once again be hosted through camping and hostel accommodation at Fordell Firs Scout Camp.

DATES: The NFYT 2011 will take place a little later in the summer from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17th July.

PERFORMANCES: We are looking for everything from polished performances to work-in-progress and are able to offer a diverse range of platforms on which to present your group’s work. As a guide, our proposed 2011 programme will have the capacity to accommodate 10 main-stage and 6 studio / alternative-platform performances.

COSTS: As we are still in the process of developing the 2011 event we are unable to offer accurate participation costs at this stage. However we do aim, as far as is possible, to freeze costs @ 2010 levels. Therefore based on full participation (4 days), coach transfer, camping accommodation and catering please budget £75 per person for members / £105 per person for non-members.

NFYT ‘FACT FINDING’ DAY, 23rd February 2011 from 10am – 4pm @ The Rothes Halls, Glenrothes Whether you attended the event last year or are new to the NFYT, this ‘fact finding’ day will be a helpful tool for learning more about the proposed structure of the event. It will give you the opportunity to network with other prospective participants, tour the core venue space, workshop some skills relevant to bringing a group to the event and question the Promote YT team. This day is free and lunch will be provided but places will be limited.
