National Festival of Youth Theatre 2015 Amigo Role Description Thank you for your interest in volunteering as an Amigo National Festival of Youth Theatre (NFYT). re looking for a team of 8 Amigos to work together and help us deliver NFYT 2015.

This opportunity will offer you:  Valuable work experience in an arts environment  The opportunity to assist in artistic workshops led by professional theatre practitioners  The chance to attend NFYT performances  The chance to meet and talk to arts professionals from the youth theatre sector  A work-based reference  Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme 

If so, first things first . . . in order to apply you need to be:  Over 18 (by 6 June 2015)  Available from Thursday 2 Monday 6 July inclusive  Available to attend the NFYT Staff Training Day at Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, Fife on Saturday 6 June.  A senior member (or recent leaver) of your youth theatre   A confident communicator and an excellent team player  Willing to work long hours (and sleep in a tent!)  Keen to share your passion and experience of NFYT If you meet these criteria then becoming an NFYT Festival Amigo could be just for you, so please read on for more information.

About NFYT As an NFYT veteran you know first-hand what it means to participate: the performances, the workshops, the camping, the partying, and the banter. NFYT can be both exhilarating and exhausting, which is why we need your experience and enthusiasm to support th festival participants!

In order to make 2015 the biggest and best NFYT yet, the event will include:  Over 250 participants representing youth theatres from across Scotland and beyond  Ten youth theatre shows all performed on the Rothes Halls Main stage  A skills development programme of artistic workshops and scratch performance events delivered by leading theatre practitioners 

 Camping at the Falkland Estate, Falkland, Fife

Role Description As an NFYT Amigo you will be working under the core Youth Theatre Arts Scotland staff team and your role will be to: 

meet and greet NFYT participants, workshop facilitators and public audiences



help groups set up and break-down their campsites



buddy and support NFYT participants, particularly those new to the event



assist with warm-ups and artistic workshops



organise and compere social events (including the Open Mic and the NFYT Wrap Party)

Being an NFYT Amigo will suit you if you: 

are passionate about youth theatre and keen to gain experience working in a festival environment



are confident at communicating



have a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards working with young people



are responsible, reliable and can use your initiative



enjoy working as part of a team

Training will be provided in advance of the event and your enrolment will require a PVG Scheme Record, which Youth Theatre Arts Scotland will apply and pay for on your behalf.

In return for your time and commitment Youth Theatre Arts Scotland will offer you: 

travel expenses (from within Scotland) to and from NFYT



travel expenses (from within Scotland) to the NFYT Staff Training Day on Saturday 6 June



camping accommodation in the
