CEO NOTES Greetings Readers, I pray all is well in the month of July. I also pray all of the Fathers had a wonderful Fathers‟ Day! Starting off, I would like to once again thank the staff of PPM for their patience and acceptance of the transition we are going through. I want to thank my Advisor Rachel Moore for staying on top of things including me (Smile)! We had a wonderful time at the North Carolina Gospel Guild Award ceremony held in Raleigh NC, May 4! I must admit I felt as though I was in the valley for the month of May. There were struggles and obstacles that had me on edge. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. The thing that kept me searching and searching and seeking and seeking was the constant voice I heard from the Lord saying to remember his promise. But in order to fulfill and see that promise, I had to, and still have to stay on the path that God has designated for me to reach that promise. I had to be still and listen just to ensure I was still on the path in which God had designated for me. I‟m still learning and God is still teaching me and sharpening my spirit with wisdom and knowledge. I have to say thank you Lord for your patience and mercy! Now Getting down to business; taking affect immediately PPM at the moment will be viewable digitally only. If you subscribed from the month of May backwards, you will still receive a copy of the printed magazine until your subscription ends. Others are now asked to subscribe to our digital magazine for $19.99 . That‟s 12 months of PPM digital

Minister Gene Viale has been known to the Gospel Music community for over forty years. A native San Franciscan, raised, in its‟ Mission District, his voice was first heard as a child singing in the sunshine choir of his maternal grandparents Pentecostal church. In his early teens he became one of the lead singers for the Voices of Victory community choir one of the bay area‟s best known choirs of that time. In 1964 (at the age of 17) while visiting family and friends in Southern California, Gene met and was asked by Rev. James Cleveland to become one of his legendary James Cleveland Singers. This, made the Cleveland Singers one of the first integrated groups, in gospel music. Within the week he, (together with Odessa McCastle, Roger Roberts and Rev. Cleveland) left for what was to be an extremely successful, extended tour of the United States. This group of Cleveland Singers, were responsible for songs like “Heaven That Will Be Good Enough For Me” “Two Wings” “Heartaches” and “What A Friend”.
By 1965 Rev. Cleveland added Clyde Brown and Charles Barnett to the group and the hits went on “Without a Song” and “The Lord Is Blessing Me Right Now” being two of them. All this was happening during a time in this country when segregation was still in place in the South land and Jim Crow was yet alive and well. Gene received his ministry license in 1967 from the Church Of God In Christ and has since been ordained by The Fellowship under the leadership of Bishop Yvette A.Flunder DD. For the past forty-five years he has continued to minister, crossing all racial and denominational barriers.

Read this unique life story, The Last Seal of Mystery. This is a testimony written due to the encounter with light versus darkness. The hardship of different trials and tribulations, the unfolding of truth to many seemingly mysteries of life The last seal of mystery tells about how a small child was haunted and attacked by forces of a unknown creature while growing up in the south:forces of the unknown which later follows into child/adulthood. However as an adult, she was ordained by God to face and overcome all fears of the unknown and known. This dialogue also deals with faith and rising above situations, facing different challenges or crossroads that intend to prevent one from a purpose fulfilled life. The music has rich melodies, sweet harmonies, and clear messages in each song that it leaves the audience satisfied and blessed in more ways than one. In 2005, group leader Carlyle T. In 2006, Carlyle who is a songwriter, producer, and lead vocalist, began working on his first album. Carlyle began the process of creating a group, and shortly thereafter CTM was formed which consists of 5 family members.

PPM: Greetings Chosen To Minister. Thank you for allowing PPM the opportunity to interview you all during your busy schedule. Please tell us a little about the group and how it got started? CTM: Chosen To Minister (CTM) is a gospel reggae group whose goal is to spread and share God's word to anyone who will listen. In 2005, I, Carlyle T. Myrie, started writing songs after I was inspired and blessed by the Lord. While writing songs, I continued to play and did a number of shows with other gospel groups and local artists around the tri-state area. In 2006, CTM was formed which consists of 5 family members. We began working on our first album. I am the songwriter, producer, and lead vocalist. PPM: Were there any obstacles that tried to prevent Chosen To Minister from existing? CTM: I can say thanks be to God we faced only a few obstacles such as difficulties with studios making time for a new artist like me. We had to make some changes along the way. What kept me going was knowing no matter what, God is in control, and things we experience was just Him processing us. PPM: What is the name of your latest CD released? CTM: “Give Thanks” PPM: When your listeners listen to your music what is it you‟re praying or wanting them to get out of your messages in the songs? CTM: While ministering, we pray that our listeners would hear the clear messages of the gospel of Jesus Christ and what he has done for us and our responsibility as ambassadors for Him. We hope that each song leaves the audience satisfied and blessed both spiritual and natural. PPM: Are there any other projects we can expect to hear from Chosen To Minister in the next few months or year?

CTM: We are working on our second CD called “Breakthrough” that should be done sometime next year. PPM: What is one of the group‟s most memorable performances? CTM: One is doing an open mic jam session with Tye Tribbett and it was the beginning stage of us ministering. We were all very nervous and Tye started off by introducing us as CMT instead of CTM. Everything went well after that and he ended up free styling with our group. PPM: Where can your CD be purchased and how can others contact/book the group to perform for an event? CTM: We can be contacted for booking on our website at www.Chosentominister.com. Our music can be purchased at www.Gospelreggae.com, CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes. PPM: What encouragement or information would you like to leave with the audience? CTM: That it is a privilege to know that we are all instruments for the Lord, and that the Lord has chosen all of us to spread His love to every soul on the face of the earth.

Instructions: Cook orzo al dente, or just until firm, according to package directions(*3-4 minutes max).
2 pounds orzo pasta ½ cup whole, pitted Kalamata olives ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes (packed in olive oil, drained, with liquid reserved) ¼ cup toasted pine nuts 2-3 cloves fresh garlic A good sized bunched of fresh basil Sea salt(to taste) Freshly ground black pepper (to taste) 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
DO NOT OVERCOOK! Drain thoroughly, but do not rinse. Transfer orzo to a large pasta serving bowl and add some extra virgin olive oil to keep from sticking. Set aside. Meanwhile, in a food processor, combine the Kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, garlic cloves, fresh basil, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Stream in the extra virgin olive oil while intermittently pulsing, being careful to keep a more “paste” type consistency, and not a loose consistency. Into large pasta serving bowl, add the finished “pestonade” mixture to the cooked orzo, and add fresh baby spinach leaves. Combine well, and garnish with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and flat leaf parsley. Serve immediately or refrigerate. If serving cold, add the reserved sun-dried tomato oil and toss well to moisten. Enjoy! 6-8 servings. Use leftovers within two days.

As men, you have been given a command from the Lord to be the heads of the home. You have also been given the responsibility to be a godly and positive example to your children in all matters of life to include but not limited to spiritual matters, finances, relationships and all around godly living. I know for some this may seem like extra responsibilities but I do believe that if you cast your cares upon the Lord, he will see you through every test, and trial that you may face as a father. As the scripture has said “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”. Brothers with faith in the Lord Jesus, I know that each of you can lead your families the way that the Lord has designed. One aspect that is clearly established in the bible is God‟s set order within the Body of Christ and more so within the homes. “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of the women is the man, and the head of Christ is God”- 1Corinthians11:3.
Men if you are not allowing Christ to be the head of your life, then you are out of order. Men if you are passively sitting by allowing the wife and kids to rule, then you are out of order Women and children if you are not submitting to the authority that God has set up, then you are out of order as well. The word submission is seen as a dirty word for some, an opportunity to be a lord-over of others and is often seen and associated with something that is an arduous task filled with drudgery. These are all lies and deceptions of the enemy.
Submission simply is a willingness to yield to someone. Brothers when you submit your life, plans, and will to Jesus Christ, seeking first his righteousness, then everything else will fall into place. A godly woman doesn‟t have a problem submitting to her husband if he is first submitted to Christ. On the other end this role of leadership within the family is often abused when it is run like a dictatorship. Christ never designed for the head to mistreat, neglect or show disrespect in any way to his family (the same is true for the wife and kids as well respect is mutual for all family members). But men are to love and care for their wives as Christ loves the church. Remember love is not selfish, it is not easily provoked and is not puffed up but is caring, longsuffering and kind. Please read 1 Corinthians 13 for further study on the subject of love.

On top of being the head of the family, you also have been given the responsibility to be godly and positive examples to your children in all areas of life. The Lord has blessed you to bring forth life into this world. These precious lives are to be guarded and cared for with great value. Yes, as a father you will make mistakes! Yes, there will be times when you and your child will be at odds with each other because you told them no or didn‟t allow them to do certain things that are either ungodly or unproductive! But I do believe that as a father whose doing his best to guide his children in truth, if you can maintain your integrity, your children will thank you for it later on in life. Look at it this way, the more positive things you put into your child‟s life, the more they will be able to deposit into others. On the other hand if you fail to deposit godly and positive things into them, then how can they positively lead others? The things you do or don‟t do as a father will have great impact on not only your children but on future generations as well. Husbands and fathers the time is now for you to be bold in faith and fervent in the Spirit. If you aren‟t involved in your families‟ life or if the family seems to be falling apart then it‟s time to repair what the enemy has broken. The job of the enemy is to steal, kill and destroy by any means! He knows that if a family can get and stay in order and become complete in Christ, then his chances for wreaking havoc is slim. But if that family is broken for whatever the reason, then this is an open invitation for him to come in and attack. When the enemy comes in, the family unit breaks down and ultimately society breaks down.
Statistics of those in prison and those who commit crimes, numbers would drop drastically if young men and women had a father in their lives or at least a father who showed them the right way. Your job as a father is one of the most important jobs that you could ever have! When the spirits of Ahab and Jezebel are in operation within the home anything is bound to take place. The Lord never designed for the women to be the head neither did he ever design for the women to fulfill both roles within the home. I understand that things happen in life where the parents no longer together, but that doesn‟t give anyone the right not to be an active part of their kids life. Brothers I pray that the Lord gives each of you the strength to become the true backbone and anchor that your family needs. I pray that as a father and husband you will allow the Lord to lead you before you can truly lead others. Wives I pray that you will submit to, affirm and truly support your husbands in this matter. Children I pray that you submit to the authority that God has given even for you to follow for when you are obedient to your parents you are obeying the Lord. May the Lord richly bless each of you this day and always. Rachel M Moore, PPM writer

What is a promise? Can you answer that question? Often times, when a person says “I promise” the word would fall on deaf ears because it has lost its potency and credibility. Simply, Webster‟s dictionary defines a promise as a pledge or to offer assurance, an assurance that one will or will not do something, a pledge, a vow. In society today the word “promise” or the phrase “I promise” seem to have little meaning. Bringing it closer to home, how many of us have made a promise, and broke it? How many of us had made a vow and didn‟t keep it? How many pledges did we fail to keep because it became conveniently inconvenient? As we become more advanced in our technology, it‟s becoming more apparent that, as a society, our commitments and obligations have regressed. Some will say one thing and then do the opposite. In today‟s thinking a promise is not a promise, but a promise is a reason to disappoint, deceive, and thwart responsibility. In the old days we would call that lying. The scriptures make it plain to us where lying and trucebreakers have originated, and gives us an indication of the times we are living in (see John 8:44, 2 Tim 3:3). Certainly, we would want to disassociate ourselves from that group.
We can go down deep into channels of our life and name people from years past who have lied to us. Even in our adolescence, we can go back and identify people who had broken promises to us. I could easily remember when daddy was supposed to take me fishing or shopping for new clothes but left me waiting on the front porch. Wounded, I would call him again hoping and praying he would not disappoint me again. As painful as that experience was, it was important carry over man‟s irresponsibility to God. Our confidence cannot be in man, but in God (Ps 39:7). The scriptures tell us that our God is faithful and true, He doesn‟t see the promises He has made to us as idle words. His words are an anchor to which we can hold on to (see Ps 27:14).

Years of disappointments and heart aches from past relationships cannot spoil me or divert me from trusting in the One who is truly faithful and honest. Even in our own nature and our view of promises by man, we can be assured and confident of God. For we are encouraged, when we pray to him he does here us and will answer our prayers (1 John 5:14). The enemy, the devil, the father of lies will whisper in our ears that God will disappoint us like man but we can speak confidently to those voices and say, “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD (Ps. 31:24).
Rest assured and be encouraged my brothers and sisters, all is not lost, what God has promised will come to pass (Phil 1:6, Is 55:11). When we felt that God doesnâ€&#x;t care or has forgotten all about us we can poise ourselves, brace and stand firm on what God has said will materialize. Although people may lie and break their promises, God is not man, He cannot and will not lie (Num. 23:19). He has NEVER broken a promise. His track record is clean without any disappointments. To God a promise is a promise and He will honor his word.

Is love enough at this point…All these years don‟t mean nothing if there is no happiness attached to it …Happiness, real happiness is so hard to find…Sometimes you have to bend for happiness, you have to spit up and out some stuff for happiness, you have to cut away some people and things for happiness, sometimes you have to move for happiness, sometimes you just need to sit still peacefully for happiness…you have to let things go that you thought made you happy for happiness sake…Happiness looks so far away when you‟ve moved too many miles away from it, thinking happiness was out yonder…Happiness what can I say, it is not manufactured, it is not assembled, it is not constructed, it is not put together, it is not prefabricated…Happiness just is…God says happiness is a fruit of the spirit which is something only He can make, so if it is a fruit of the spirit then God not man orchestrated happiness…and if God made happiness and placed it‟s seed in each of our spirits that is found within one‟s self…then this fruit must be given the right conditions in which to grow, to bud, to blossom, to live, flourish and grow…However, if you live in an environment where happiness‟ growth and maturity is stunted by people and things in your life, why are you looking for happiness in a place where it will never be found…you‟ve been fooled!
I tell you no matter how many things you have, no matter how many people you know, no matter how you try to please someone who is just using you…no matter your socioeconomic place in society, each one of us was given a seed of happiness…and these hopeless things and people we look to make us happy will never create the right space in your life for happiness to have its place in your life…Until we put those things to rest that suck out of us what God has so graciously given us, this seed of happiness, we will never understand, taste, have, or even be able to pass this seed to others…Happiness is not something that comes and goes, you can tell when someone has entered that territory of happiness….There is a glow about them…Happiness as I‟ve described it is like a plant that needs nurturing and territory to grow so your happiness (these seeds or buds found within self) will be infectious and leave those spell bound when in your presence because your happiness has grown like a vine leaving seeds where ever you go, now that‟s happiness-Real Talk- Selah By Tina Kay Hughes, author of “TKay‟s Inspirationals: Walking In Your Season” www.tinakay.net

The mirror projects society‟s expectations and the media showcases images of how we should be presented in the public eye which are expectations that we can never meet. Some of us are still glazing in our rearview mirrors. Rearview mirrors are when we are focusing on things from our past. We have not removed our thoughts and dreams from the past. We are still living in a past memory, awakening, or vision. We are not seeking for God‟s new anointing, His bread of life, and His daily Word for us. We are still dreading on what we could have done, should have done, or wish we could change. When we continue to stare in the rearview mirror, we will not develop and mature as believers. We also will not walk into our future destinies. In rearview mirrors, the objects appear closer than they actually are. These memories appear as real as your divine calling on your life. We allow FEAR to deter us from our true godly nature. FEAR is false evidence appearing real. We listen and view things as if they are real, when some of us are only living in a fantasy. We need to get out of the matrix and plug into the source of life—Jesus Christ. We have shattered mirrors. Shattered mirrors are when we see our reflections in the mirror of which we are frustrated, disgusted, or hate what we see. We project a cluttered mind, disorganization, and dysfunction, where we are not satisfied with our lives such as career goals, education, and abilities to project meaningful life choices and decisions. We can glue the pieces back together when we allow God to renew our minds and spirits. When we are filled with His Holy Spirit, we become like Jesus.
We have broken mirrors. Broken mirrors are where we only reflect on our hurts, pains, miseries, bitterness, and past memories of not succeeding in various aspects during our daily missions. We complain, nag, bicker, and continue to speak death while we continue to breathe. We don‟t hope for the best, or believe we can succeed with anything or anyone. We are broken. We are tore apart from our horrifying past memories. Look in the mirror. What do you see? How can we change our broken hearts? We call on Jesus to take our pains, brokenness, and hurts away by showing us glimpses of our future—where we strive to achieve them. We have foggy or dusty mirrors. Foggy or dusty mirrors appear when we stare in the mirror and see our imperfections, unclear career paths and have no idea of our purpose. We see ourselves—not who we are called to be. We need to clean the junk out of our lives such as sin, imperfections, and insecurities where we do not believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. He requested us to multiply and be fruitful— He allowed us to procreate where we bring forth perfections of God‟s creations. Yes, we are born into sin. However, we can seek God to remove everything that displeases Him or is not like Him. We can see what God sees once sin is omitted. When we continue to seek Him on a daily basis—we will know our plans, future, and potential vocations.

We will see how to bless others with the spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities He placed in each one of us. Clean the impurities from your heart, mind, spirit, and body—to see your clear mirror and it will not be hazy anymore. We have clear mirrors. Clear mirrors display our transparencies, where we share our stories, testimonies, and lives that demonstrate how God has been the main attraction, for He is glorified. Regardless of our past, we continue to share our personal walks with God, and even our hardships in which we have triumphed with God‟s help. We elaborate on how God was in the equation, through it all.
God gives us a compelling vision. We have to discover the vision of God that He has especially for our life. With God‟s help, we will commit to all God has called for our lives, to be, and to do. We develop understanding and revelation of God‟s Word. We are becoming a Christ-like character. We are seeking God‟s wisdom instead of ungodly wisdom. We are stepping into God‟s plan, power, and provision over us. We are to commit and have a stronger dedication to build the church, the body of Christ. We are to be involved in His career, not our own. Be equipped and ignited with the fire of the Holy Spirit. We need passion. 1 Excerpt from God is in the Equation by Prophetess Adrienna Turner, from EQ7: Equation. 1
Pastor Tom Wilke. Vision 2010, sermon at Spirit Life Church, Milwaukee, WI on January, 3, 2010. (author‟s paraphrase).
