The ZEISS Axio Observer family consists of three stable and modular microscope stands for flexible and efficient imaging. Among its features is Autocorr, a technology that allows adaption of immersion objectives to varying sample carriers and imaging conditions. The correction of spherical aberrations results in improved image contrast, higher resolution and more efficient fluorescence detection. The new Autoimmersion option that builds up and maintains stable water immersion without traditional problems such as evaporation or air bubbles is compatible with multiple water immersion objectives in the nose piece. Definite Focus.2 is a novel hardware focus that automatically compensates for focus drift and enables long-term time-lapse imaging and demanding multi-position experiments. The ZEISS Axio Observer can be combined with the new multicolor LED light source Colibri 7 that delivers up to seven excitation wavelengths. In combination with the new Virtual Filter technology users can perform ultrafast fluorescence imaging with high spectral flexibility. Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. announces the release of its KnowItAll® 2017 spectroscopy software and databases. The new version offers an additional 976,000 reference spectra in the KnowItAll Spectral Library including Bio-Rad’s Sadtler™ spectra as well as spectra from John Wiley & Sons, Inc., bringing the spectral database collection to over 2.3 million spectra. With the update, users can save time by automatically importing structures and properties directly from PubChem to enhance user-built databases. The improvements also help to streamline Bio-Rad’s Enterprise Server software for management of spectral and chemical data throughout an organization. MilliporeSigma’s Mobius® Power MIX 2000 single-use mixing system is engineered with advanced technology to effectively handle difficult-to-mix buffers, culture media powders and other pharmaceutical ingredients. The Mobius® Power MIX achieves a strong vortex using an impeller design and motor based on magnetically-coupled NovAseptic® technology, a proven mixing technology in stainless steel tanks. The system provides accessible, sterile zero deadleg sampling directly from the mixing container.
