BAC Group Fitness changed my life ! !
This is my story… In November of 2011 I began talking to my family about getting a gym membership. I went to another gym to sign up but my daughter, who was already a member at the BAC, told me that joining there would be a waste of money. Considering that I joined the previous year and only went a total of 3 times, I took her advice. That evening my wife handed me a greeting card with a BAC membership inside.

Considering that I joined the previous year and only went a total of 3 times, I took her advice. That evening my wife handed me a greeting card with a BAC membership inside.
My first few BAC visits… When I first went to the club I was 5’9” weighed 229 lbs and had 29.7% body fat. I knew that I had weight to lose so I started with Cardio. Cardio was a butt kicker, however, I quickly became bored. The weight lifting equipment at the BAC is similar to the equipment I was used to but there was definitely things I needed to learn. My daughter urged me to use the free training session that comes with the membership. I was hesitant at first but decided to schedule a session with Justin Cammarata. Justin was patient and he listened to me for almost an hour while he came up with a strategy for me. At the end of the session he informed me that he needed another session to train me on the equipment. During the second session he introduced me to a new method of weight training and suggested group classes to help me achieve my weight loss goals. This personal training session was the jump start that I needed to start losing the weight.

Group Fitness became my motivation… BEFORE GROUP FITNESS is something that I swear by and use regularly. I don’t want to be too wordy, but I want everyone who reads this to understand what group fitness is and how it can change lives. Group fitness is basically a personal training session that you share with others. It sounds funny but it’s true. If you are unsure about classes just show up early and the instructor, as well as participants will be more than willing to help. Some of my favorite classes are RPM, CX WORX, BODY COMBAT, BODYPUMP and Yoga. At first classes may seem intimidating, but I promise you that if you get in the door you will benefit. In RPM the instructors will teach you how to set up your bike in order to get the best out of your workout. In BODYPUMP constant instruction will be given to ensure that you select the correct base load weight and use proper technique. Don’t go too heavy at first; I learned the hard way. In BODYCOMBAT just keep moving: punch, knee, elbow, kick. You will be challenged; just don’t follow my lead, because even a year later and I am still directionally challenged. The routines change regularly and the instructors make it fun. If you stick to it I guarantee success. There is just no way around it.

The BAC family… Sounds kind of corny but it needs to be said. From the minute you walk through the door you are greeted by friendly faces. Personal trainers, group instructors, support staff and fellow members are always there to pick you up if you need it. In my experience it was GROUP FITNESS that kept me coming back. The camaraderie in group classes is infectious. The instructors and fellow members become your friends and you won’t want to let them down. You will encourage and inspire one another to attend class and challenge each other to make personal gains. I can’t say enough about what this club has done for me. Justin Cammarata became more than my personal trainer, he became my friend. I have taken several training sessions and classes with him and he never misses an opportunity to give me training advice. I’ve been a member for just over a year and I feel great. I am still 5’9”, however, my weight is down to 185 lbs, my body fat is 12%, and most importantly my energy level is up, as a result my quality of life has improved. If you have taken the time to read this my only hope is that you join. I look forward to seeing you at the club and in class.
