SNAP ASSISTANCE The Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can help you with food costs. Benefits are provided on the Link Card – an electronic card that can be used at most grocery stores. Our SNAP representative will work with you during food pick-up hours to submit your application online while you wait. LIHEAP ASSISTANCE The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program helps eligible households pay winter gas or electric bills. Set up an appointment to submit your application for assistance. Documents must be available. JOB SEARCH SUPPORT Make an appointment to get help with your job search. Career coaches at Loaves & Fishes offer technical and practical job search support for anyone who is unemployed or looking for a job change. Work one-onone with a coach to improve your resume, networking techniques and interviewing skills. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Many people, both children and adults, struggle with emotional and physical hardship. Samaritan Interfaith counselors can help with encouragement and advice for you, your family, or your friends. Make an appointment for a “Someone to talk to” session. MONEY MANAGEMENT Meet with a counselor who can help find solutions to your personal finances and money challenges, including handling credit problems and setting up a family budget. Register for “All My Money” sessions, offered every other weekend from May 2 to July 14. COMPUTER CLASSES Learn to use a computer no matter what your skill level. Free classes sponsored by People’s Resource Center teach computer and internet fundamentals on Thursday evenings. Attendance is limited. Register to reserve your place in class. ESL CLASSES If you would like to improve your English speaking, reading and writing skills, register for this summer semester course offered by the College of DuPage at Loaves & Fishes. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon, starting May 29. Register to reserve your place in class. VETERANS SERVICES If you or members of your household have served in the US military or are currently active in the US military, we can help eligible families sign up for healthcare and other benefits available to you.
