Martinsville
The county seat of Martinsville is home to an incredibly intact historic downtown district. Throughout the community, you’ll see reminders of Martinsville’s mineral water and goldfish heritage.
Mooresville
On the northern edge of Morgan County, you’ll discover Mooresville, with its cute downtown district featuring local eateries, antique shops and more. Here, you’ll find a nod to the town’s status as the home of the Indiana State Flag.

nature & rec
Morgan County is also home to the geological “line” where the glaciers stopped their southward advance during the ice ages. As a result, the area has both flat areas and beautiful rolling hills, in addition to the most diverse soil of any county in the United States.
The gorgeous terrain of Morgan County makes it the perfect place to enjoy hiking and outdoor adventures It's easy to see how the ice age glaciers forged the terrain of Indiana The northern and eastern edges of Morgan County are relatively flat, and looking southward, you can easily see the "Martinsville Hills" indicating exactly where those ancient glaciers stopped and the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Indiana begin
The area possesses both beautiful, lush rolling hills and majestic woodlands The wooded areas are home to 80% of the Central Indiana tree canopy When combined with the plentiful water from rivers and streams, this area became very attractive to early settlers In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, mineral water gave rise to several spas that were frequented by visitors from around the world and gave Martinsville the name "City of Mineral Water "
Today, natural resources and recreation options are plentiful, providing enjoyment to residents and visitors alike They include
many hiking options, horseback riding and even Indoor Airsoft! Don't forget to check out the pet-friendly paved and natural trails in city, county- and state-owned parks and forests (and the White River, of course)
