Whisky Galore Scotch Whisky Association The Scotch Whisky Association’s role is to advance the global interests and profile of Scotch Whisky, their members and of the industry as a whole. They re-located to a modern city centre development at The Quartermile in Edinburgh. AKP Scotland were delighted to successfully complete and deliver the fit out works. The project consisted of changing the existing open plan first floor office space into modern corporate headquarters. The project was successfully delivered in eight weeks and to the satisfaction of the client, under budget.
Whyte and Mackay We are currently working on two excellent projects for Whyte and Mackay - We have recently commenced the fit out of their new Glasgow offices in the extremely prestigious St Vincent Plaza and are also working on an expansion at their Fettercairn Distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland, where they produce stunningly pure single malt whisky

Going Green in Edinburgh The Green Investment Bank The Green Investment Bank is the first bank of its type in the UK and was created by the UK government. They finance and back green projects on commercial terms and invest in UK based green infrastructure projects. Akp completed an expansion to the office area for the Green Investment bank on the 7th floor of Atria 1 Edinburgh, to facilitate expanding staff requirements. Additional meeting pods were formed, alterations to the kitchen and an expansion of the breakout area were completed with all associated M&E services.
Park Life Lochside View – Edinburgh Park Akp were asked by Redevco to refurbish their prestigious office building in Edinburgh. This modern office accommodation is situated approximately 5 miles west of Edinburgh city centre at Edinburgh Park, South Gyle, one of Scotland’s premier business park locations. Akp was commissioned to overhaul three levels of the building to create fresh new open plan floorplates. The project commenced with the immediate strip out of all partitions to form the open plan suites on all floors. The air conditioning system was re-configured to be effective within the new open plan office format. The lighting was upgraded, the building given a modern outlook and the project had new flooring installed and was fully decorated throughout. Haymarket Refit Rosebery House Akp was commissioned by Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited, the owners of this 1970’s office building, to fit out and refurbish the entire first floor of Rosebery House, at Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh. Part of the first floor would be occupied by the client, with the remainder being developed for future let. The entire floor was stripped out to prepare the space for refurbishment and fit out. The part of the floor that would be utilised by the client was developed into a new office space by the creation of three new meeting rooms with Comfort Polar glass partitions. A new tea preparation area was created with the installation of a new fitted kitchen adjacent to a common breakout area where staff can relax. We returned to complete a second phase for the client, ensuring our usual high quality finish.
Stamp of Approval The Stamp Office, Edinburgh We are delighted to have commenced a fit out project at The Stamp Office. The Stamp Office was originally built in 1819 and comprises a 7 storey category A listed Georgian building overlooking Calton Road and Waterloo Place.
York Place Playfair House We are completing a refurbishment project within Playfair House, which is located near York Place. This is an open plan, high quality, modern office accommodation. We are delighted to have completed a couple of projects here recently. www.akpscotland.com
Transformation St Columba’s School St Columba’s School is an independent school in Kilmacolm. They have 730 students across their junior and secondary schools. Akp upgraded, refurbished and completed the fit out of the existing senior science block. There was a complete reconfiguration of the building and all teaching rooms. There was new curtain walling, the windows were replaced and we totally upgraded the external façade. We completed the project by installing new laboratory furniture and fume cupboards for the science classrooms and routed the fume cupboard extract via two bespoke chimneys.
Satellite Office Spire Global Akp completed an office fit out for multinational company Spire global. They manufacture satellite based maritime and weather tracking around the world. The company have established a nano-satellite design, manufacturing and data management facility. They wanted to have a European Headquarters and chose Glasgow as their location. We completed a full refurbishment and high quality fit out of their offices.
A Beacon of Light The Beacon – levels 7 & 8 The Beacon is a 9 storey office building in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, built in 1999. We carried out internal refurbishment of floors 1-7 and 9 as well as the ground floor reception, lift lobbies and the enclosed car park within this concrete framed office block. The logistics associated with a city centre site made the project challenging and the team ensured that the occupying tenants’ businesses were not affected during the site activities. We returned to complete floors 7 and 8 to the same high standard.
