The College of Business
ForeverTrueISU.com
In its 33-year history, the Iowa State University College of Business has come far in providing a relevant, wide-ranging, hands-on education. As a result, enrollment continues to grow, our doctoral programs are thriving, our rankings keep climbing and our after-graduation placement rate is 97 percent. The future is brighter than ever. With the world population expected to reach at least 9.6 billion by 2050, the college must continue to do its part to educate a vital workforce ready to bring innovation to the workplace, create new jobs and businesses, and address challenges such as food scarcity and data insecurity. Our college is uniquely positioned to prepare these professionals. Our faculty and students are exploring leading-edge practices in fields such as marketing, accounting and finance, and supply chain management. They are innovating in areas such as supporting and starting small businesses, putting entrepreneurial thinking into practice, analyzing and protecting data, and finding new ways to get food to those who need it around the world. During the university’s historic $1.1 billion campaign, Forever True, For Iowa State, we must plan how to strategically direct this momentum as we move forward. The college’s campaign goal of $56 million – and the funding priorities outlined here – will enable us to expand the breadth of our student body and the quality and relevance of an Iowa State business education as never before. These priorities reflect the aspirations of the Forever True campaign: ensuring access to an exceptional education, advancing Iowa State expertise to address global challenges, and enhancing the university’s impact on the economy and quality of life in Iowa and around the world. By focusing on these goals, we will prepare today’s students to meet the challenges of tomorrow – and continue on the path to becoming a world-class institution. Our alumni and friends have always been dedicated partners in achieving success. We are counting on you now to help realize the college’s vision for this campaign. Together, we can ensure an Iowa State business education that sets our graduates apart and ahead, ready to make a difference in Iowa and the world.

ASPIRATION 1
Ensure access to an exceptional student experience that offers practical, global and leadership opportunities that shape the well-rounded citizens and informed critical thinkers needed in the 21st century
In an increasingly competitive environment, the college must attract students who represent the range of backgrounds and voices needed in today’s classroom and expected in tomorrow’s workplace. Scholarships will help keep a College of Business education accessible, ensure a diverse student body, allow the college to grow enrollment in strategic ways, and enable students to participate fully in a range of learning experiences. The college must offer a leading-edge education and remain within reach for deserving students – from the first-generation college student to the third-generation Cyclone, from the single mother who returns to school to the veteran, and from the high-performing student to the sharp young entrepreneur. Increasing student diversity and excellence will benefit everyone in the classroom. It will ultimately draw new and expanded corporate recruitment to Iowa State, leading to higherlevel employment opportunities and higher average starting salaries for our graduates. As the top choice for Iowa business students, our college must increase general undergraduate scholarships to keep an Iowa State degree affordable for the future
“My parents aren’t financially able to support me, but I’m proud that I pay for myself. I feel it proves how much my education means to me. This scholarship means that someone else is willing to help me accomplish my goal. I’ll have less debt when I graduate so I won’t have to take a job just to pay loans; I’ll be able to find a job I really love.” - Katelyn Clough, Gowrie, Iowa, finance
