Introduction Beginning from the simple premise that access to finance can unlock productivity, FINCA International grew one of the world’s global microfinance networks and is now the majority shareholder of FINCA Impact Finance, which provides financial services to 2.3 million clients across 20 countries annually. FINCA International is now advancing its charitable mission of poverty alleviation by accelerating the growth of social enterprises that create new economic opportunities and greater resiliency among households living under £5 a day. FINCA’s success depends in large part on its belief that market-based solutions are critical to creating lasting change. As a global leader in responsible financial services for more than thirty years, FINCA is now engaged in creating and supporting social enterprises creating affordable and reliable products and solutions that address intractable problems and create new drivers of a poor person’s income and standard of living. FINCA’s expanded work includes FINCA Ventures, an impact investing initiative, as well as BrightLife, a triple bottom line social enterprise that unlocks affordable clean energy and financial access for poor and low-income families. With a global focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), governments and the private sector are increasing their support of the flow of investment capital from impact investors into businesses reaching the underserved in difficult geographies. Among the most notable trends in recent years is the global scale up of off-grid energy access. FINCA International is investing in the growth of FINCA UK to springboard FINCA UK’s presence and voice and to mobilise resources among the UK and European donor community. FINCA UK’s Director of Development will lead a fresh, exciting and ambitious income generation programme with hands-on fundraising from a variety of sources including governments, corporate partners and high net worth individuals. Reporting to FINCA International’s Senior Vice President of Business Development and External Relations, the FINCA UK Director of Development is a senior level role with an entrepreneurial approach and a passion to create substantial impact by building strong, long-term relationships and generating notable sums of income from a wide range of programmatic and core funding partners. The ideal candidate will have exceptional stewardship and relationship building skills. An interest in emerging models of investment-based philanthropy is important as well as the ability to understand and communicate these financial models effectively.
