Who we are
The Hospice Lottery Partnership was formed in 1997 with the purpose of raising funds for our partner charities who care for people in their community when they need it most, via a weekly lottery and seasonal Superdraws. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise company, returning all our operational surpluses to the charities that we support, which was 63% of our total income in the last financial year. From covering the daily costs of running a hospice to funding the latest technologies and advanced treatments for patients - every pound played on The Hospice Lottery counts towards our charities’ ability to offer care and support to people and their families when they need it most. Supporters of The Hospice Lottery make a vital contribution to the partner charities income generation. Without this support, many of their desperately needed services might no longer be available to local people, their families, and friends. Players of The Hospice Lottery not only enjoy the chance to win significant prizes; they also know that their purchases directly help those people affected by issues that have touched so many of us.
Mission Statement Raising funds for our partner charities who care for people in their community when they need it most. 4
The Hospice Lottery Partnership | CEO
Since The Hospice Lottery Partnership launched, we have grown to over 40,000 players who have helped to donate over £15 million straight to our partner charities’ funds. The money raised goes to several charities caring for thousands of people across Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire. Last year alone our supporters helped to fund an incredible £1,457,112 of care, and we are aiming to raise even more this year. We also have thousands of happy winners enjoying spending their prize money! We continue to focus on attracting many more new players, who together with our existing supporters, make an even greater difference to people’s lives at a time when they need help most.
Our Partner Charities Our partner charities provide specialist care and services to thousands of patients and their families, and in 2019-20, the money raised from the weekly lottery and Superdraws paid for over £1.4 million of care.
