Departmental Overview

Counseling & Mental Health

Alexis Webb

Director of Program Evaluation & Curriculum

Highlights Counseling & Mental Health

• Hope Squad: In 2019-2020 Prosper ISD implemented Hope Squads on all our secondary campuses. Last year we implemented Junior Hope Squads on our elementary campuses. Hope Squad is a Peer to Peer Suicide Prevention Program approved through TEA.

• Telebehavioral Health: Prosper ISD partners with Children’s Health for School-Based Tele-behavioral Health Services. Students can receive telebehavioral counseling during the school day from a Children’s Health provider at no cost to families.

• Parent Education: Prosper ISD hosts four parent education

opportunities each year. This year each campus will host at least two “Coffee with the Counselor” events to go over campus specific needs.

• SEL Coaches: At the elementary level we have four Social and Emotional Coaches. Our SEL coaches will offer parent training on various topics once a nine weeks.
