Case Study: Single Dwelling Drain Line, Dublin. Private residence with difficult to access 100mm (4”) sewer drains running beneath the house. The homeowner was extending the house and needed to extend the sewer lines to fit. The sewer drain lines were found to be badly damaged upon inspection, with multiple circumferential breaks, blockages and intrusions. Extending the pipeline was not possible in this condition. The contractors carrying out the works were already under a tight project budget and schedule.
Case Study: Single Dwelling Sewer Drain Line, Dublin. Pipe replacement would have required excavations of the site which would have added significant costs to the project and delayed its completion. Using existing access points, Nu Flow technicians successfully rehabilitated the damaged pipeline using the Nu Drain structural lining technology. The quick, non-invasive process allowed works to continue elsewhere on site and the project deadline was achieved as a result. Nu Flow saved the customer the expense, time, and disruption of a pipe replacement using their cured -inplace-pipe (CIPP) lining technology.
Case Study: Multiple Dwelling Sewer Drain Line, Kildare. Sewer collection pipe at residential estate in Kildare. Multiple dwellings served by the pipeline suffered recurring problems such as blockages and poor flow. 43m of clay pipe with a diameter of 150mm (6”), including one 90° bend.
The pipe ran beneath gardens, footpaths and roadway from the dwellings to the public main.
Case Study: Multiple Dwelling Sewer Drain Line, Kildare. Inspection of the system revealed dislocated joints, vertical and horizontal cracks, and root intrusions, all of which were causing the recurring problems for the homeowners. Nu Flow used existing access points to rehabilitate the pipeline. Root intrusions were cut away and the system was jetted and restored to its original diameter size.
Nu Drain structural liner was installed and cured to the existing pipe, giving the system a new structural integrity.
Case Study: Yorkshire Water Trials, UK. Yorkshire Water adopted the ‘Nu Drain’ technology to carry out trials on innovative technologies for sewer pipe lining. Clay and pitch-fibre sewer drainage pipes ranging from 100mm (4”) to 150mm (6”). Pipes all located in tight, difficult to access spaces extending from homeowners’ landscaped gardens to busy main street roads. Multiple types of problems such as blockages, damaged pipes and cracked joints. One pipe had a displaced joint which had caused a 1m section to drop down 50mm, causing blockages, poor flow, and leaks in times of heavy use.
Case Study: Yorkshire Water Trials, UK. Borescope pictures revealed another pipe had significantly reduced diameter (from 100mm to 50mm in places) due to severe internal damage and corrosion. Traditional pipe replacements would have cost the customer significantly more time, effort, disruption and money to complete. Nu Flow technicians were able to successfully rehabilitate all trial areas without causing any disruption to homeowners and road users alike.
Case Study: Yorkshire Water Trials, UK. Pneumatic pipe cleaning tools were used to restore all pipes back to their original diameters.
Thorough inspections were carried out to ensure all pipes were clean and clear before the ‘Nu Drain’ liner was installed. Structural liner was pulled into place, inflated, and cured to the existing pipe to create a new, smooth surface. Offered a cost effective, permanent solution. Saved one customer in particular over £14,500 compared to a conventional pipe replacement solution.
Case Study: Potable Water Pipes, Prestigious Hampshire Home. Hot and cold potable water lines flowing through the house.
Pipework had been the subject of extensive pitting and corrosion over a number of years, causing numerous leaks and damage to internal furnishings. Pipe replacement would have caused destruction to the internal and external furnishings in the house, taken months to complete, and would have been significantly more expensive. Nu Flow’s skilled technicians cleaned the inside of the pipes using a sand based material and compressed air, and successfully lined the system using ‘Nu Line’ technology. Nu Line is a non-invasive process that uses a blown-in epoxy to coat the inside walls of pipes, without destruction to interior or exterior surfaces of the building.
Case Study: Potable Water Pipes, Private Lake House, Texas. 22,500 square foot prestigious lake house in Texas. 12mm (½”) to 50mm (2”) copper potable water pipes. Located in difficult to access areas, the pipes were experiencing repeat pinhole leaks. Pipe replacement would have required heated tile floors, hardwood flooring and finished landscapes to be dug up and removed. Nu Flow’s epoxy barrier coating was used to successfully rehabilitate the damaged potable water system.
The non-invasive process preserved the finished flooring and landscape.
