St.Mary’s and related programs are live!
ePR Milestone 2
Progress: 75% Complete
On October 29th, the ePR system was implemented at St.Mary’s and all related programs. This day was an historical moment for Providence Care as we reached a major Milestone in the way we deliver our care. Most staff were geared up and ready to for this major change. In the basement of St.Mary’s, the ePR team was getting ready to support all staff during this transition. On the units, a horde of purple t-shirts were dispatched across St.Mary’s and accessible remotely. Everyone was ready for the big day, always keeping in mind the patient safety and the quality of our care.
Meet your MHS ePR Champions read more in the middle spread
This historical day was a success. All staff members worked really hard to make the best out of the new system. Champions were always eager to help and resolve some more complex issues. The Command Centre and Helpdesk were prompt to answer questions and to fix the problems encountered. We have grown as an organization and learned a lot about implementing a project of this magnitude. Providence Care is really proud of its people and thank everyone committed to this project. All of the staff efforts and hard work reflected on Providence Care’s broader commitment to high quality care.
MHS, PM and all remain programs are getting trained on the ePR system The ePR system will be going live in January for MHS, PM and all remaining programs . As we move towards the critical implementation milestone, staff are being trained on the ePR system to safely interact with the electronic record. The training for the clinical staff has been scheduled between mid-October to December 13th. We strongly encourage staff members to keep their knowledge active after their training sessions by practicing their skills on devices set up with the ePR TRAIN system. “Practice scenarios” for the ePR Train system and materials to support staff learning are accessible on the intranet page. e Patient RecordNews ePR Milestone 2 go-live champions: they are here to help you Our MHS and PM ePR Champions have kindly volunteered to take on new responsibilities, helping their colleagues throughout the ePR implementation. You will also see them during training sessions, helping those less familiar with technology learn the new system more quickly. They have received some training and have worked hard to know the system very well. Reach out to them if you have questions, they will do their best to help you.

e Patient RecordNews ePR system seen through staff lense “This is really going to work, the second day was a charm.” “We should have done this a while ago.” “Helpdesk has been really prompt and helpful at go-live.”
“If a 70 year old can work with the ePR system, anyone can.”
“The ePR team kept their promise to support us the best way they can. We always get a fast answer every time we call the Command Centre.”
“It likely will take me some time to master the ePR system, but I can tell you right now, the functionalities are wonderful and more effective and efficient.
Learning for our Milestone 1 go-live We have learned from our previous experience going live at SMOL on October 29th. Staff provided great feedback and here is what will be adjusted for Milestone 2 go-live: • Conversion will start earlier as it requires more time than anticipated. • The Command Centre schedule is being reviewed. Staff would have prefered to have it opened for a few more days. We are looking at different options at the moment. • It was suggested that Champions remain on the unit for more days. We are looking at the feasibility for MHS/PM. Milestone 2 is scheduled for January 2014 and the ePR team is getting ready for this next step in the ePR Journey.
Having problems with the ePR system? • Have you connected with an ePR champions? • Have you called Helpdesk at extension 2550?
