PROVIDENCE GOLF CLASSIC

The 22nd Annual Providence Golf Classic took place on August 18, 2020 and included staggered tee times to ensure a safe and physically distanced tournament at Quarry Oaks, a beautiful 440-acre golf course. Approximately 110 people participated and we raised more than $50,000.

VIRTUAL HARVEST FESTIVAL

For the first time ever, Providence celebrated its annual Harvest Festival virtually. The 40-minute event took place on October 29, 2020 using both Facebook and YouTube as our online platforms. We raised more than $20,000 with around 250 participants tuning in.

PREVIEW PROV

Our Preview Prov, which traditionally is an overnighter to help high school students experience campus life firsthand, was transformed into a virtual event this year. It featured a campus tour, info sessions, and a chance to interact via Zoom with professors and current students at Providence.

DAY 4 PROV

Our Providence community celebrated its third annual Day 4 Prov on March 18, 2021, displaying their newest and oldest Providence shirts, hats, jerseys and more as they posted on social media about the difference Providence has made in their lives. This year, a total of 68 gifts were given and we raised more than $7,000!

VIRTUAL GRADUATION

Our Virtual Graduation was held on May 29, 2021. A ceremony for both the university college and seminary was broadcasted over Facebook and YouTube which included a message from Past President David Johnson, valedictorian speeches and warm video greetings from faculty.

PROVIDENCE LEGACY FUND

Did you know that The Providence Legacy Fund grew by 11% this past year? Approximately 200 Providence students received scholarships and bursaries in 2020-2021 that totaled $90K.

The Providence Legacy Fund consists of two types of investments: endowments where the capital is invested in perpetuity and the earnings are used for particular projects or to support general operations, and trust funds where both the capital and its earnings are used over a specified time for a particular project. The Legacy Fund consists of funds held by Providence and by The Winnipeg Foundation which combined on April 30, 2021 totalled $1,803,267.
