2020-2021 Highlights

IMPACT 2020

On April 7, 2021, we held a VIRTUAL CELEBRATION to announce the completion of Impact 2020, a fiveyear capital campaign, which raised more than $14.7 million. We received donations from 1,580 people, including gifts from our Board, friends, businesses, staff, faculty, and more than 700 alumni!

CAMPAIGN ART PIECE

A colourful ART PIECE that fills a 9 ft x 6.5 ft canvas is on display near the front entrance of the Hanna Building. It was commissioned to Winnipeg artist, Yisa Akinbolaji, to help the Providence community commemorate the success of the Impact 2020 campaign.

COVID-19

Our ENROLLMENT FOR FALL 2020 remained steady with a total of 433 students registered for classes. However, due to COVID-19, we experienced a significant decrease in international student enrollment and a decrease in residence students living on-campus which presented some financial challenges.

FACULTY IN RESIDENCE

Provost pro tem, DR. NICHOLAS GRECO, and his family made the brave step to move into Muriel Taylor Hall on September 2020. He lives on-campus with wife (Antonella) and daughter (Serafina) as part of an initiative to facilitate ‘student living and learning’ inside and outside of the classroom.

WEEK OF PRAYER

Organized by the Student Council (STUCO) and the Spiritual Life Committee, the week included prayer services in the R.W. Affleck Chapel, prayer walks across campus, worship in Muriel Taylor Hall (the Hub) and an ecumenical panel with special guest speakers.

GRADUATION 2021

Forty-eight students, 15 from the seminary and 33 from the university college, graduated this spring. Thirteen students received a certificate or diploma. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we held a VIRTUAL GRADUATION ceremony for both the 2020 and 2021 graduating classes on May 29, 2021.
