Christmas is over for another year and we welcome 2023 and all the opportunities it brings with it. It’s always exciting to start a new year, with a blank canvas to paint or draw whatever we want. I don’t make resolutions, but I do make plans, things I’d like to achieve over the year for myself, my family and the business.
We’ve all packed a lot into 2022 and need some rest and some relaxation, doing all the things we love. It’s the perfect time to catch up with family and friends – everyone seems more relaxed when the weather is warm. We love to entertain at home and tend to keep it casual with a barbeque and some fresh seasonal salads to keep it as stress free as possible and it always seems to work for both adults and children. Have a fabulous Summer, and please drive safely if you’re venturing away from home.

The Perfect Cheese Board
A cheese board is always welcome – whether it’s after a meal or just when friends drop in for drinks - it’s quick and easy to put together, looks spectacular and is absolutely delicious! Add different textures, colours and flavours for the ultimate cheese board.
1 Start with a fabulous large board so there’s plenty of room – it’s a lot easier to cut cheese with a bit of space around it. Add a selection of cheese knives – one for each type of cheese is best.
2 You can’t go wrong with three types of cheese – a hard, a firm and a soft cheese. A chunk of Parmesan, a wedge of Comte or Cheddar and a lovely runny Brie (take this one out of the fridge early so it will be at room temperature) will provide three different textures and cater for all tastes.

Add some fruit and nuts – fresh grapes, slices of apple and some fruit paste work beautifully with unsalted, roasted or candied nuts. These sweet and savoury elements not only add colour and texture but will also elevate the flavour of the cheese. Include a selection of crackers and a sliced bread stick (serve them in a separate bowl if you run out of room on the board).
