Carmela Aiello will call Australia home for the next 12 months basing herself in Nagambie to experience the culture of regional Victoria. Carmela comes to us from Italy, from Ischia which is a volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples. Situated on the Amalfi coast with neighbouring islands such as Capri and Sorento. Ischia is known for its mineral-rich thermal waters. Hot springs bubble up at Maronti Beach, in the south and Roman remains lie beneath the sea floor at Cartaromana Beach. The beach has views of the medieval Aragonese Castle, linked to Ischia by a stone bridge. Nearby, 18th-century Palazzo dell’Orologio houses the Sea Museum, devoted to Ischia’s fishing tradition. Carmela Aiello is Emilia Golding’s niece. Emilia and her husband Paul operate the well known Top Pub in High Street Nagambie. Emilia’s family hails from The beautiful island of Ischia. Carmela has dreamt of coming to Australia for many

years and with limited opportunity for young people and the worry of finding work without being taken advantage of it isn’t any surprise that Carmela has spent the last 4 years talking with Emilia about coming and working in Nagambie. A few months ago, Carmela plucked up the courage and booked her flight. She has a 12 month working holiday visa, and Nagambie will have 12 months to get to know her. She landed in Melbourne on December 1 and celebrated her 22nd birthday on December 7th with staff and customers and a special cake. Paul and Emilia didn’t waste anytime to introducing Carmela to fundraising in the community. The Community Voice had the pleasure of meeting Carmela at the regatta centre on December 14 where she was cooking pizza and greeting locals. Carmela loves what she has seen so far in Nagambie with the community being so welcoming and looks forward to the 12 months ahead.

FROM FLOODING RAINS TO STAY SAFE ON THE WATER DROUGHT, FIRE AND SMOKE HAZE THIS SUMMER On December 13 in 2018 severe weather brought rain falls of 150 - 200mm, causing the Hume Freeway near Wangaratta WR ÀRRG DQG UHVXOWLQJ LQ PRUH WKDQ PRWRULVWV UHVFXHG E\ KHDY\ YHKLFOHV ERDWV URSHV DQG KHOLFRSWHUV 7KH UDLQ HYHQW ÀRRGHG KRPHV DQG VZHSW FDUV RII FRXQWU\ URDGV Today it is hot, dry, and we have seen an early start to the summer fire season – with drier than normal conditions threatening dangerous fires. In New South Wales firefighters continue to battle out of control bushfires blanketing towns and cities in smoke. The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) recognises that a changing climate means more extreme weather events more often, including drier summers and intense severe weather events year-round. Storms like the December 2018 rain event can happen anywhere, at any time of year, posing significant threats to homes, businesses and infrastructure, and creating dangerous road conditions. Taking the time to think about emergencies and making a plan helps you to think clearly, have a greater sense of control, and make better decisions
when an emergency occurs. If a disaster happened, who and what would you most want to protect? How would you do this? Considering these questions before disaster strikes will help you make good decisions during an emergency. VICSES works with Australian Red Cross to encourage people to prepare for emergencies. NAGAMBIE RSL CELEBRATES 100 YEARS On Sunday 1st December the RSL held their combined Christmas Party and the Centenary of the Nagambie RSL. There were over 90 people in attendance. The meal provided by Jason, from Broadford, was at it’s customary high standard and the raffles always are entertaining. Committee member, Dawn Newman thanks all those who responded to their invitations, stating that it made the day much easier to manage, particularly from a catering point of view. Entertainment was more than appreciated. The Nagambie Larks sang with its usual gusto with a few old songs. Then followed the dynamic Callum Gleeson who is a worthy entertainer in his own right and has a wide repertoire of songs. Guests of the President included Glen Ferrarotto, representing the President of
RSL Victoria, who presented the RSL with a certificate celebrating 100 years of the Nagambie RSL. Glen spoke briefly about the ethos of the RSL and why all RSL’s should continue to operate. Other guests included Councillor Amanda McClaren, Mayor of Strathbogie, and representatives from local RSLs. Committee member Reg Dickinson read the history of 100 years of Nagambie RSL. Elaine Lodding and Theresa Crick and members of the museum provided and set up the display of army uniforms, bayonets, swords, books and magazines from different generations. Overall it was a great day. Many people have expressed their appreciation for the wonderful day and President David has extended his thanks to all who participated. Nagambie RSL has a membership of over 100, many of whom are now elderly, and some are not always able to attend functions. This is mostly due to poor health. Nonetheless, the membership continues because of what the RSL stands
for; supporting veterans and their families who have supported our country over the last century and beyond. All funds raised go back to those who have fought or served and who now need our support. In such a short period of 100 years Australia has been involved in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan. Many young men and women have lost their lives in these battles and left behind grieving families. The President and committee wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy and safe New Year. Stay safe.

MOVEMBER DONE & DUSTED: IT’S A RECORD
For three years now, a group of men in Nagambie have been raising funds for men’s health and it has been growing each year. The first year a commendable $2200 was raised. The second year it was $3020. And this year saw an amazing $4429 raised. The money has been donated to Nagambie Healthcare in the past and it will be the same again this year. The men held three events, the first was a walk from the Royal Mail Hotel Nagambie to the Murchison East Hotel ($153 raised), the second was a breakfast at the Royal Mail Hotel ($1388 raised) and the final event, also at the Royal Mail Hotel was the Mow Off, where an amazing $2023 was raised. These events don’t just happen, they need preparation and support and for this we must thank and acknowledge the great support that Paul and Emelia from the Royal Mail have given each year. For the first time, the Community House came on board this year and Anna Close was
very helpful and full of enthusiasm. Other support came from the RSL, the Bowls Club and many individual members from the Golf Club as well as the club itself and of course, our very own entertainer extraordinaire, Kevin Phelan. Many financial donations were made including the following: Puppa & Gaehl (Bonnie), Veritas Financial Services (David Guy), Neville & Tholey Forbes, Terry & Jenny Clonan, Larry & Ilona King, John Bond, Edna James, Helen Gilbert, Di Proud, Greg Bazely and Greg Bragg. A huge “Thank You” to all who have supported this cause. The generosity of the Nagambie Community is amazing. Cheers! These people either had their hair coloured, their mo's or head shaved (or both) and Paul even lost an eyebrow.

NAGAMBIE STUDENTS HONOURED WITH WEARY DUNLOP AWARD AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE
Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Steph Ryan hosted students from across the Euroa electorate in Parliament House for the 2019 ‘Weary’ Dunlop Award on Friday. Nagambie Primary School student Tillie Wallden and St Joseph’s Primary School student Caleb Close were among the 11 winners of the award, honoured in Parliament House in Melbourne. Ms Ryan offers the award each year to each school across the Euroa electorate in memory of Weary Dunlop. Students were invited to Parliament House for a formal awards presentation after a fun morning experiencing the city. The award is presented to students who have demonstrated persistence and resilience in order to achieve academically, socially, culturally, in the sporting arena or in another field of endeavour. “Hosting these wonderful young people and their families in Parliament is one of the highlights of my year,” Ms Ryan said. “Each of them has a unique story of how they persisted and showed resilience to overcome adversity.”
Tillie was proudly nominated by her teachers for her many strengths and qualities. Caleb was described by his teachers as a friendly, supportive and courteous student with a great sense of humour. “Tillie and Caleb are great examples of the spirit exemplified by Sir Edward ‘Weary Dunlop’ and it was an honour to have them in Parliament,” Ms Ryan said. Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop was born and raised at Stewarton, educated in Benalla and grew up to be an extraordinary surgeon, serving in World War II. As a prisoner of the Japanese, Weary Dunlop displayed extraordinary courage, leadership and compassion, giving hope to the sick and comforting the dying. He was described by one of his men as 'a lighthouse of sanity in a universe of madness and suffering’. The award is made annually and recognises students who have done their best in the face of adversity.

NAGAMBIE PS - CLASS OF 2019 It is great that many primary schools consider their Grade six year as an important rite of passage or an early coming of age and hold a graduation for their Grade Six graduates. Nagambie Primary School held their Graduation dinner at the Nagambie Mechanics Hall for their 20 graduating grade six students and their families on 11 December. Thanks to Helen Heathcote’s year round efforts the evening was a success and the hall looked festive with the decorations Helen and her helpers had done. Each student’s place had their photograph and a graduation bear in it and the edge of the stage had collages of the pupils taken over their school years. A power point presentation photo presentation of the children’s school years was shown on the stage after dinner. School Principal Rob French and Grade six teachers Kim Pollock and James Bodycoat thanked the students and their families, teaching staff, school Parents and Friends association, volunteers and local organisations for an excellent year and for supporting the Grade six students throughout their primary school years. The Grade 6 awards were then conducted in front of the school assembly. The Weary Dunlop award given by Steph Ryan MP Euroa was presented to Tillie Wallden. The Lions Club of Nagambie and District Inc. Encouragement award was presented to Jack Peterson by Lions Club President Marlene Brew.
The presentation of the Most Improved award sponsored by the Tabilk Junior Football Club was made jointly to Brodie Baker and Nic Drayton by Rose Lindner. Zahra Bourke won the Arts award which was presented by Danielle Palmer of the Parents and Friends group. Neil Lodding Sports Trophy was presented to Jazz Smith by Helen Heathcote on behalf of N.Lodding and Steve Brooks on behalf of the Nagambie Football/Netball Club. The 2019 Citizenship award was presented to Jazmyn Ashcroft by Trevor Cubbin School Council, Larry King Nagambie RSL and Mr French School principal. The Fran Irwin Literacy award sponsored by her husband Keith Irwin and son Clint was presented by her son Clint Irwin to Lee Kaitsis . Grade Six teachers James Bodycoat and Kim Pollock and School principal Mr Rob French presented the Kevin Verge Maths and Science award to Garry Bhour. The Dux of the School final award for Academic excellence went to Charlotte Palmer and was presented to her by Vin Palmer on behalf of the Nagambie Masonic Lodge. Congratulations to all the award recipients and to all Grade Six students on their graduation for 2019. Good luck in your chosen high schools studies in the years to come.
ST JOSEPH’S END OF YEAR MASS AND AWARDS NIGHT - Di Grant
Finishing Grade six is an important rite of passage even more so at a small country school. This year Nagambie’s St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School’s nine Grade six students were congratulated on completing their primary school years at the end of Year Mass held on 1 December at St.Malachy’s Catholic Church. The parish Priest Fr Tony Hill led the mass, and the school song led the start of the service. Grade six students read the Bible readings and gave the prayers of the faithful during the service. Holy Communion was served by Fr Hill Leo Jones and Sue Deane. Fr Hill said he was impressed with the school as they all attended the weekly masses he conducted at St Malachy’s and this helped the children grow in strength in their Christian faith. School Principal, Leo Jones thanked the Fr Tony Hill for coming each week to celebrate Wednesday mass with the school community and publically acknowledged his staff and school families for their tolerance while the administration block was being refurbished and how it was well worth the wait. Mr Jones thanked his staff and volunteers for their dedication, all the unseen extra work and meetings they do for the school. He stated that he was thankful especially for their help with the school camps, excursions, sporting events, and school and church events. He emphasised that quality teaching and learning also happened this past year. Changing the school timetable to have literacy block uninterrupted has worked as well as their four days of numeracy. One big change has been the National Collection of Data on school students. Extra work that the teachers need to be involved with in 2020 as well. He thanked his staff for being always prepared to go that further step. He thanked the School Board, especially the Chair person David Edwards and his board, the Parents and Friends group for functions and fundraising, parents, grandparents, carers and volunteers. He finished his Principal’s report by saying “I look forward to the challenges and achievements we have in store for the school in 2020. I look forward to 2020 with enthusiasm and all the exciting learning we will do.”

What you’ll need
How it’s done
-
1. You’ll need to use moss to
-
Metal wreath ring Moss Your choice of decorations—you can use a mix of artificial and non-artificial decorations. In use here: non-dried lavender, dried whole limes and lime wedges, pink peppercorns and pine cones. Reel wire Wire cutters + scissors Ribbon
create a natural base for your wreath. Attach the end of your wire to the base of the wreath, grab a generous handful of moss, compact it with your hands, place it on to the base and then wrap the wire around the moss to secure it to the base.
2. Leave the wire attached throughout. Continue to take generous clumps of moss and secure each section at a time by wrapping the wire around it. Cover both sides of your wreath ring. If you’re using fresh ingredients, damp moss is great for keeping fresh flowers and foliage looking their best.
3. Any decorations that don’t have stalks (pinecones, limes, etc.) will need a wire stalk. Wrap the wire round the base of your decoration to secure and then leave a 10– 12cm stalk of wire.
4. Create bunches of mixed stems and decorations. As you place each bunch on the wreath, secure to the base by wrapping it with the wire that is still attached to the wreath base. You’ll want to wrap it round several times to make sure it’s secure before layering on the next bunch. All the bunches should face in the same direction but it works well to alternate between placing one bunch facing slightly inwards and one slightly outwards.
5. Continue until you’ve filled the whole wreath. At the end you can fill in any gaps by poking a few extra stems in where needed to complete your design.
6. Finish with ribbon. We’ve arranged our ribbons to cover the stems at the base and added a ribbon loop at the top for hanging.

Nagambie’s local boat hire business has seen several different names and owners overs its almost 30 year span, with the most recent of these being the change from Nagambie Lakes Boat Hire to Go Adventure Nagambie. This latest change has been made by its newest owners Lee and Kymberleigh Rowland, Nagambie locals for the last 7 years, who took the business over 12 months ago. “Go Adventure Nagambie has been created so everyone can enjoy the beautiful Nagambie Lakes and Goulburn River Region, with our aim being to ‘create fun for everyone on the water,’ Lee said.
“The new name has strong linkage and purpose to the messages from Go Nagambie and Go Fish Nagambie that have been developed in recent years, so it only made sense to become ‘Go Adventure Nagambie,” Lee added. “Our business has been hiring out tinnies to fisherman, rowers and visitors to the region for many years, however recently it has been adding more adventure based hire equipment, including pedal boats, canoes, stand up paddle boards, kayaks and hobie boards again supporting the move to Go Adventure Nagambie,” said Kymberleigh.
“Since taking over the business, we have expanded our hire range with kayaks and hobie boards, made improvements to all our tinnies, expanded our hire offering to school
and corporate groups, and launched our new website, all of which have been going really well,” said Kymberleigh.
experienced tour guide can be provided for half and full day tours,” Lee said.
Go Adventure Nagambie will continue to operate out of the Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park and are establishing a summer holiday based hire location in town, to give greater accessibility for locals and day visitors to enjoy the beautiful waterways of the Nagambie Lakes.
“Whether it be an adventure filled day or something a little more relaxing we have all your fun on the water needs covered,” said Kymberleigh.
“We also have exciting plans for the continued growth of Go Adventure Nagambie with our brand new luxury pontoon boat arriving in mid Jan 2020, custom built to hire requirements, the pontoon will suit up to 12 people and is designed to maximise comfort and enjoyment whilst on the water. It will be available as a hire self drive option or an

PLASTIC TIME MONSTERS TO EDUCATE CHILDREN ON WASTE Strathbogie Shire Council is proud to present ‘Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters’, a free theatrical comedy show for kids of all ages happening at the Euroa Community Cinema on Thursday 16th January at 2pm. Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters is a fast-paced performance raising awareness about littering and ocean health. Created and performed by two of Melbourne's finest comedians and aimed at children of all ages, this show has universal appeal for young and old. The play follows the story of two best friends who have been sent back through time to save their world from total annihilation. The dreaded plastic time monsters are hot on their trail. Can they deliver a message to the people of Earth that will change the course of history and save their oceans? Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Amanda McClaren said the show provides a great educational activity for children of all ages these school holidays. “Our community is really kicking goals when it comes to waste diversion and climate action, with a ranking of number two out of 79 local government areas for waste diversion and some fantastic initiatives already completed as part of our Sustainable Strathbogie 2030 Strategy,” Mayor McClaren explained. “Educating young people about waste and caring for our environment is so critical to continuing the great work we are doing as a community to ensure the future health of our planet, especially as we continue to see the impact of climate change.” “If you’re looking for something fun and educational for your children to enjoy these holidays, this show is a must!” The show had an extended sell out season at La Mama and Melba Speigeltent at last year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Attack of the Plastic Time Monsters is a free allages event.

A message from the President
The Gate - By Karyn Thompson
As you all know this has been an extra special year for our Community House receiving, for the first time in its history, Government funding for a Coordinator. We were incredibly lucky to be able to employ the services of Anna Close who has been outstanding in the role. She brings an engaging and inclusive daily presence at the House as well as brilliant ideas for new groups and events. Thank you for all you have done for us this year and for being you, Anna.
Keep out Private property Beware of the dog Trespassers prosecuted Surveillance camera in use But not this gate This gate is open to all It opens and closes all day People bring in items Others, in need, taking food out No questions asked Young or old Rich or poor Non discriminative Any race, religion, shape or size, All welcome A meeting place for many groups Writing, gardening, art or craft groups, to name just a few People, sharing, caring, Whater your passion or hobby You’ll be welcomed , A community hub Or a place for a chat A cuppa with Anna The Nagambie Community House Stands behind this Gate The most welcoming Gate of all
I would also like to thank all the wonderful group leaders for their countless hours of volunteering and those who participate in groups and events, enjoying what is on offer. You all contribute greatly to the life of the House. I think the beautiful poem by Karyn Thompson expresses what many people think of our House. Thank you, Karyn….we need to frame and display it in our entry! We ARE welcoming and inclusive and it is not by accident that ‘friendship’ is the first word in our motto. It is the glue that binds the group together. All attendees are welcome whether they participate in the activity or come for a coffee and a chat. Finally I would like to thank the members of the Committee of Management who do a sterling job in governing the House, ensuring its viability and working on your behalf to meet your needs and those of the wider community. Friendship and respect are important components in our meetings too! Together with them I wish you all the joys of the festive season and a safe, happy and healthy 2020.
Welcome 2020
Wendy Keenan, President
The Community House is not a building, an exclusive group or a place for particularly talented people. It's a home away from home. A meeting place where everyone is welcome. We've had an amazing year 2019 and are looking forward to 2020. But it is your ideas, suggestions and needs that help take out direction for our House and what responsibilities we take on. What do you want our House to do next year? What classes or workshops do you see a need for? Is there anything in particular you wish you could learn more about?

GRADUATION
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
Last week we had a fabulous graduation evening for our departing Grade 6 students. It was a lovely evening, celebrating the achievements of the class of 2019. Students, families and staff enjoyed a lovely meal (thank you Joe Gatuso and the golf club ladies) in the Mechanics Hall, which Helen and Rose had looking beautiful. All students proudly showed their special memory slide show and made excellent speeches. At the conclusion of the evening we had our Awards. Nagambie Primary has a long history of Grade 6 awards, with the Dux of the School being sponsored by the Nagambie Masonic Lodge for over 80 years. Current lodge member Vin Palmer presented this year’s Dux of the School to School Captain Charlotte Palmer. Congratulations to all Grade 6 students and award winners.
On Wednesday we went to Melbourne to see the play of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We went on a new bus and the driver said we were the first passengers on the bus. It took around two hours to get there. When we did get there we had to line up outside the theater and go in very, very slowly. We then had to find our seats and my mum and I as well as Oliver and his Mum had to sit somewhere else. It was very crowded. When we got to our seats we got ready to watch the show. We had to move again. When the show finally started the first scene was Wonka making himself look different so no one would recognise him. Then Charlie came on the stage and sang a song. His house was made up of an umbrella and a bed as well as a small tin roof, and a wall. Then he met Wonka without knowing it. On his birthday he got a bar of chocolate and did not get a golden ticket. Then he bought one more bar of chocolate opened it aaand… GOLDEN TICKET! He went to the factory and went inside with his grandpa. The first kid to “die” was a butcher boy. He was sucked up the chocolate sucker. The next kid was a girl who blew up. Then a spoilt girl was torn apart by squirrels. The next kid got miniaturised. And then Charlie won! He went into Wonka’s office and drew in the forbidden book. Wonka found him drawing in the book and decided that the kid could be the manager. So he took him to his glass elevator and showed him all the places in the world. Charlie became the factory manager. Then all the people came out and did a bow on the stage. Then streamers exploded out of two small canons and hit everyone in the face. I kept one of them and tied it around my tail. We got back to school at seven thirty, I was happy that I was able to go to the amazing musical. By Sienna Edwards

CAHILL CUP
Huge thank you to all our wonderful families that made it to the Christmas party on Thursday. We started with an Elfie, enjoyed a sausage in bread a lots of playtime until Santa drove in on his trusty CFA truck and bought a small gift for one and all. Thank you to the committee for organising the raffle and family contribution congratulations to the winners. Included was a silent auction for the trusty cubby house congratulations to the winner I am sure you and your family will have hours and years of fun ongoing. Thank you for the support in 2019 look forward to the beginnings of 2020
Six of our students took part in the Cahill Cup tennis tournament at Nagambie Tennis Club. This interschool competition between Avenel, Nagambie, Euroa and St Joseph’s Primary School students, recognises the lifetime achievements of Norm Cahill, who has coached young tennis players for over 50 years and is a Tennis Australia Master Coach. Norm was also a contemporary of Rod Laver and Ken Roswell and competed at Wimbledon. Although not retaining the Cup won last year, our six students certainly competed with spirit over the day. Norm was also glowing in his praise for the sporting attitude and good character demonstrated by our students.

SPORT NAGAMBIE MENS GOLF The annual 'Ray Cassar memorial' cross country event was once again well patronized with the composite course proving to be both challenging and enjoyable for all who took part. The determine pairing of Victor and Ben Cassar were the days winners with what some described as the most charmed round that combined both tenacity and jammy luck carding a 55 four under par nett 45.5. WEEKEND PENNANT We held a General Meeting on 15th December and a Xmas Break up function at the Piste. Thanks to all those members who attended and we hope you have enjoyed another year of Petanque. We have 26 members now and hoping to encourage more to join us. As we have a very casual approach to playing, it is up to you to decide when you are able to join in. We use "What App" to communicate who is available, and there are no team commitments, just come when you are free. Some members like to compete in other competitions that are held around Victoria, but others are happy to play at our piste on a very casual basis, so come along and get to know us and our game. We are sure you will find it enjoyable and fun. If you would like to try our fun game at our regular practice times, we meet at 3 pm on Thursday and Sunday at our piste area behind the public pool, Recreation Reserve, Vickers Road. We are quite flexible and have worked on other times that may suit others so please give us a call if you would like to arrange other times. We supply boules, and you will be made most welcome.
Winner was Dave Love with 40-6.5-33.5 nett. Call Jill on 0419567580 for further information.
Round 7 also saw both Avenel teams successful. Division 6E played top of the table East Shepparton at home and two wins from three rinks resulted in a 14/77 to 2/57 win. Kathy Daly, Ruth Underwood, Maria DeMaron, Joyce White (s) had a great win 27-18. Proudly an all girl rink, three bowlers had an average age of 83 years and the other bowler was a first year player. Well done ladies. Ruth King, Mia Cooper, Iris Sidebottom, Norm Billingsley (s) had a ten shot advantage by the seventh end and maintained the pressure till the end winning 31 – 13. Len Underwood, Charlie Kemp, Josh Kelly, Roy Cooper (s) drew at ten all on the seventh end, but won only four ends after the break going down 19 – 26. Rob Kemp, Jake Wall, Pam Pedder, David Furletti (s) won 23 – 18. After seven lead changes, the win was secured by winning six from the last seven ends. Kate Donovan, Graeme Toy, Ian Bradley, Archie Patterson (s) got off to a flying start and were up by thirteen shots on the nineteenth end then Shepparton Park came storming home to win five from the last six ends by eleven
shots but fell short to steal the win with Avenel holding on for a 24 – 21 win. Howard Geldard, Geoff Hateley, Jenny Furletti, Noel Slater (s) in a close game drew even five times with Shepparton Park winning the last end by one shot, therefore the win 23 – 24. Rusty Schwab, Jason Toy, Grace Kenworthy, Brett McDonald (s) were eight down on the twenty first end and won the next three ends scoring eight shot to draw even on the twenty fourth end. However, Shepparton Park scored two on the last end to take the win 23 – 25. Next week the last game for Division 4 before the Christmas break is against East Shepparton while Division 6E play Nagambie. A full complement of members plus family and friends enjoyed a beautiful two course dinner catered for by the ladies at our Christmas party last Saturday evening. As always, the food was plentiful and outstanding. Thank you to everyone that contributed. Celebrations carried on well into the night courtesy of the music box and some pretty ordinary carol singing. A special mention to our surprise guest, Santa. PS We know where you got those red trousers from! Club games are in full swing. Mens and Ladies championship matches have to be completed by Christmas. So, if involved in these matches – get a wriggle on. It is a credit to our small club to be so well represented at events throughout the Goulburn Valley. Since the start of season 2019-20 we have had representation at not only weekend and mid week Pennant matches but also State Men's Pairs, State Ladies Pairs, Mens 60 & Over, Ladies 60 & Over and we always send a team or sometimes two to most tournaments no matter the distance. Thank you one and all your participation and for proudly wearing our colours at many venues throughout the Goulburn Valley.

Did you know bushfires kill from 300m away? Bushfires can reach temperatures of up to 1100°C. Long before the flames reach you, the wave of radiant heat can kill you from up to 300 metres away - the distance of two football ovals. Planning and preparing for bushfire is the only way to survive it.
