BC ENERGY STEP CODE

Effective May 1, 2023, most new buildings will be required to comply with the energy efficiency requirements of the BC Energy Step Code.

The BC Energy Step Code’s performance-based energy efficiency approach requires that a building’s designed performance be evaluated through a wholebuilding energy modelling and on-site airtightness testing to validate how the buildings design and construction meets performance targets for the desired “step” of the BC Energy Step Code.

For more information on the BC Energy Step Code, visit energystepcode.ca.

INVASIVE PLANTS DUMPED FOR FREE

Invasive plants can be disposed of for free at participating PRRD solid waste facilities. If you find invasive plants on your property, remove them, bag them in clear plastic bags, and take them to an invasive plant bin at your local landfill or participating transfer station. Black or opaque garbage bags are not accepted; you can pick up a maximum of three clear plastic bags free of charge at participating landfills and transfer stations.
