Last month we shared the exciting news about the beginning of construction on the Dawson Creek & District Hospital Replacement, toward which the Peace River Regional Hospital District will contribute up to $177 Million.
There has been a lot of work underway and bulk excavation is now complete. The construction camera is also now available to the public which means that means any day, any time, you can see what construction progress is being made on site.
Visit the Let’s Talk DCDH website at https://letstalk.northernhealth.ca/dcdh-replacement to see photos, read project updates and access the construction camera. You can also register for the site to add comments on posts, ask questions and share your thoughts!
This week, a number of Peace River Regional District Directors will be attending the annual UBCM Conference in Vancouver, BC. The conference is an opportunity for elected officials from across BC to attend workshops and presentations on issues common to many local governments, such as transportation, housing, dealing with emergencies, and to vote on resolutions. The PRRD submitted a motion asking the Province to ensure that BC Wildfire has adequate resources, including equipment, to effectively respond to and manage wildfires to safeguard lives, protect infrastructure, and preserve the natural environment, and to take immediate action to ensure that all available firefighting equipment, including Coulson Aviation’s Next Generation fire suppression equipment, is provided to crews battling wildfires. In addition, the PRRD will meet with provincial cabinet ministers to discuss topics of importance to the Peace Region, including:
Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Low Carbon Innovation, Minister of Forests, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Minister of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship, and the Ministry of Health.
