VARIO pliers –our all-round star.
The Prym VARIO pliers are tried and tested when it comes to working with non-sew items. Every well-organised sewing room should have a pair. Press fasteners, jeans buttons, rivets and eyelets up to 8 mm in size are easy to attach to your chosen fabric without needle and thread.
Where needed, VARIO pliers can also be used to punch holes in fabric using the right tools set (see p. 17, fig. 2, item no.: 673 125).
The non-slip handle fits the human hand perfectly. The sturdy design and specially designed tools sets make working with Prym non-sew items incredibly precise.
The VARIO pliers feature small plastic inlays for optimum grip of the tools sets (see fig. 1, item no.: 673 126).
Super handy: The plastic lever included can be used to remove tools sets (see fig. 2) or to hold the pliers closed (see fig. 3).

Tripod –for flexible positioning
The tripod striking tool can be used to position rivets, eyelets and all kinds of press fasteners (except “Color Snaps”) anywhere on your craft project.
The method, using separate top and bottom parts, i.e. the “plate”, makes the tripod perfect for attaching non-sew fasteners away from the edge of the fabric. Simply place the plate underneath the material and insert the top section into the top of the tripod. The tripod design of the tool’s top section means you can see where you are working. This design, along with the guide plate on the bottom section, is especially sturdy. Push the tools from the right pack (see page 27) into the plate and the top section.

Before you can use most Prym non-sew fasteners, you need to punch a hole in the fabric. Various tools are available for this purpose.
Revolving punch pliers
Revolving punch pliers by Prym are a versatile choice for punching holes in textiles, leather and much more. The punch pliers have 6 different hole sizes: 2.5 / 3.0 / 3.5 / 4 / 4.5 / 5 mm. They are suitable for a range of household, studio and craft purposes.
The handles feature non-slip grips and the locking bolt holds the punch pliers closed when not in use.

The Prym “Jersey” press fasteners are characterised by their easy to medium fastening strength and are especially intended for thin and stretch fabrics, as are often used in baby’s and children’s clothing. The advantage of this press fastener is that no hole has to be punched for mounting - rather the integrated serrated ring only presses down the fabric so that it is protected. Everyone knows them, the rivets on jeans that are used to reinforce the pocket corners and additionally act as a decorative element. Prym’s rivets are available in various sizes, making them suitable for different material thicknesses. The differences are in the diameter of the head as well as in the length of the inner pin. The higher the pin, the thicker the material to be riveted may be, such as leather. In the package you will find the right tools next to the tubular rivets - so all you need is a hammer to
work with the tubular rivets. The tubular rivets are made of stainless, silver-coloured brass and produce visually clean results for every application. Use either the crafter’s hammer or the VARIO Creative ® Tool to attach your tubular rivets.

If you want to improve the look of your project without sewing, it’s easy! You can use Prym’s classic eyelets with washers in a variety of settings and use them for lace-up fastenings, crafts, as a fashionable decorative element, for household items or anything else you can think of. These rustproof eyelets are made of brass and available in a range of colours and interior diameters.
Eyelets with interior diameter 11 mm or 14 mm can be attached using the crafter’s hammer, or keep it simple using the VARIO Creative ® Tool and the matching tools set. Attach your eyelets firmly enough that they no longer twist round easily – this will stop them from falling out when the material is pulled tight. For further reinforcement, we recommend our ‘strong & safe’ Power Dots (item no.: 966 020).

If you want to improve the look of your project without sewing, it’s easy! You can use Prym’s classic eyelets with washers in a variety of settings and use them for lace-up fastenings, crafts, as a fashionable decorative element, for household items or anything else you can think of. These rustproof eyelets are made of brass and available in a range of colours and interior diameters.
Use the hammer, VARIO Creative ® Tool, Vario pliers or tripod to attach sizes 4, 5 and 8 mm. Attach your eyelets firmly enough that they no longer twist round easily – this will stop them from falling out when the material is pulled tight. For further fabric reinforcement, we recommend our ‘strong & safe’ Power Dots (item no.: 966 020).
