“Safer from Wildfires”

Permanent regulations now require insurance companies to give discounts to property owners who have reduced their risk of loss from wildfire by undertaking achievable and effective property and community-level mitigation efforts. Safer from Wildfires framework is an inter agency collaboration between the Department of Insurance and the state’s emergency response and readiness agencies.

“The Seven Steps to Earthquake Safety: Prepare to Survive and Recover!”

Learn key actions for each of the Seven Steps to Earthquake Safety: what to do before, during, and after earthquakes to improve and maintain safety. Attendees will be given “Action Plan” workbooks for taking notes for what they can do at home, work, and elsewhere, and free earthquake fastening materials.

Community Brigade Pilot Program - A Collaborative Approach to Resilience

Built on lessons learned from high impact Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fires, the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles Emergency Preparedness Foundation have worked dilligently over the past 4 1/2 years to develop a groundbreaking collaborative approach to achieving proactive community engagement in WUI resiliency. You will learn how challenges were addressed and success was achieved.
