FOX Weather: The future of wildfire detection is here: Artificial Intelligence During the Natural Disasters Expo that occurred this month Fox Weather had a chance to speak with industry professionals aiding in the wildfire detection effort. FireScout is using AI and machine learning to detect wildfires and inclement weather AlcheraX Inc. - The Flood Expo Miami earlier with each instance. Using this technology allows first responders to be able to assess potentially dangerous situations from a safe space preventing possible injury and harm.

FireScout technology analyzes camera images and can identify a wildfire with 99% accuracy within minutes, said Bow Rogers, President of FireScout, "And the simple logic is the faster you get there, the faster you can put it out and not let it become a disaster."Cameras identify smoke during the day and infra-red sensors identify flames in the dark. The system then sends a location and image to first responders within a minute. FOX Weather: ‘Not just the hands:’ How to communicate natural disasters to deaf and hard-of-hearing community A sizable part of any inclement weather incident is making sure the intensity and severity is communicated to everyone in the environment and surrounding population. This can include and is not limited to those with different needs. The (ASL) American Sign Language has interpreters that make sure around 16% of the hard of hearing community is aware of any catastrophes or disasters are on the horizon.

For the convention members from Absolute Quality Interpreting (AQI) were present to speak about their communication services and the significance of making sure the ASL is included in any disaster discussion. AQI expressed the importance of people with hearing needs being able to see all expressions, gestures, and movements so they can accurately know what imminent situation is approaching.

A Guide to Rolling Blackouts & How to Stop Them Disrupting Your Life You may have only come across the term ‘rolling blackout’ within the last year or so, but do you know why they happen? Keep reading to learn more about these short-term outages, why they happen, and how to prepare for them.

What are rolling blackouts? Rolling blackouts, also known as rotating outages, are usually short, intentional disruptions of power. The outage 'rotates' through different neighborhoods to avoid lengthy blackouts in just one area. They are implemented in several situations to prevent a complete, long-lasting grid shutdown or, in the case of a storm, when there may be an additional strain.

How long do rolling blackouts last? Rolling blackouts intended to prevent a grid overload should last around an hour. Those occurring in extreme weather situations can last days or even a week, depending on the severity of the situation. Read more of this Post-show article here.
