COUNTER TERROR BUSINESS 365 • 16th July 2020

WELCOME WELCOME TO COUNTER TERROR BUSINESS 365 Thank you for joining us today for the first of many CTB365 online interactive events – brought to you by the team behind the Counter Terror Business brand. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected our daily lives in many ways, not least the current harsh restrictions on staging physical events – especially those that unite the entire security community allowing shared learning and collaboration. However, it has highlighted our increased need for online engagement, networking, knowledge building and self-improvement – this is where CTB365’s series of interactive events come in. Today’s event – Protecting the UK’s Infrastructure – will reflect the CPNI’s methodology that “…protective security measures can only be truly effective if the physical, personnel and cyber elements are considered complementary to each other during the formulation of a protective security solution.” We have a world class speaker line-up of industry thought leaders who will discuss issues that illustrate why the role of Security Officers and the emergence of Biometrics work hand in glove with the implementation of a layered physical security boundary. The modern-day terrorist is as likely to be armed with a high-speed broadband connection, VPN and a piece of malicious software, as they are a pair of bolt cutters, knife, suicide vest or a stolen vehicle laden with explosives. We will hear why prediction, prevention and detection are of equal importance when devising a cyber security plan and how we must look for vulnerabilities in the forgotten pieces of our connected security jigsaw. Ultimately, the lessons we learn from any type of physical or cyber-attack on our infrastructure will only help us build resilience and ensure that our security

practices are integrated, scalable, flexible and (most importantly) continually updated. Working with our partners at the Security Institute, attending any CTB365 event will earn you double CPD points – ensuring that you will not only take home valuable information (available to download) from some of the brightest, sharpest minds our industry has to offer, but also accredited proof that you are committed to your own ongoing professional development. Our partnership with the industry leading events, the International Security Expo and the International Cyber Expo, only goes to reinforce the importance of the undeniable link that exists between the physical and cyber aspects of protecting our infrastructure, as well as the need to network, collaborate, learn from experts and share ideas with our peers, Government and end users. Our series of online, interactive events will be informative, engaging and rewarding to anyone involved in the development, manufacture, installation, implementation, specification and purchasing of physical and cyber equipment, products and services designed to protect our national security, in all of its guises. Get involved with our events, raise issues that are important to you, take part in the polls and Live Q&A sessions – after all, it’s not every day that you get to interact with some of the best our industry has to offer! For any issues or questions, please ask for help from a CTB member of staff on the general chat. For any technical issues, call Rosario Surace on 020 8532 5737. We would welcome your feedback too - email: rosario. surace@psigroupltd.co.uk I hope that you enjoy the morning and I look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
