GREENFLEET Ambassador Kate Armitage has been a strong advocate of the electrification of transport since 2010. Previously leading the electric vehicle team at EDF Energy, Kate has gone on to be involved in a range of ground-breaking projects including the recharging infrastructure for the London 2012 Olympic electric vehicle fleet. Today, Kate uses her extensive knowledge to host events and conduct interviews, as well as sitting on industry panels to drive the EV agenda.

Head of Transport Environment & Climate Change, Welsh Government

Robin Beckmann is Welsh Government’s Head of Transport Environment and Climate Change. After a successful private sector career, Robin became ELWA’s Regional Director for Mid Wales prior to ELWA merging with the Welsh Government in 2006. He has held several posts in Welsh Government including Regional and Deputy Director roles in Education where he was responsible for the merging of several colleges in North Wales, the reorganisation of education services in south Wales and the creation of a new University.

Fleet Manager Association of Fleet Professionals

Winner of the Barbara Cox Automotive Woman of the Year award, Lorna joined E.ON as an IT Project Manager before moving to the fleet team to head up group-wide telematics and carbon reduction projects, subsequently being appointed Commercial Vehicle Manager. Having worked in Germany on a global fleet project she returned to the UK and joined Royal Mail in 2014. Whilst there she led on the Optimise Prime project, the largest commercial electric vehicle project in the UK. In August 2019 she joined National Grid as Fleet Manager.

Environment Manager SMMT

Sukky Choongh graduated from Kings College London in 2010 with an MSc in Environmental Health. She joined SMMT in July 2017 as Environmental Manager for Air Quality and Ultra Low Emission Vehicles. Working with government bodies and cities across the UK, Sukky supports their ambitions for the increased uptake of ultra-low emissions vehicles and air quality improvement strategies.

Senior Manager Welsh Government Energy Service

As senior manager for the Welsh Government Energy Service, Jim oversees work on community renewable energy and zero emission transport.

He has a demonstrable track record of delivering high quality technical advice, training and customer service and organises a range of workshops/ stakeholder engagement sessions for local authorities and housing associations.

At GREENFLEET Cymru, Jim will share insight of the commonalities that fleets face and will discuss the barriers and opportunities that fleets in Wales are experiencing now and going forward.

COO Zapmap

Melanie Shufflebotham is the cofounder and COO of Zapmap, the UK’s leading electric vehicle (EV) mapping app. Having worked in the space for over 10 years, Melanie is an EV market expert, with deep knowledge of the charging market and EV data sets. As co-founder she developed the Zapmap app, products and initial revenue streams. Now, as Zapmap scales ready for the mass take-up of electric cars, she continues to be focused on making charging simple for EV drivers aswell as providing data and insights to business & fleets to help them develop their electrified services.

Liana Cipcigan

Professor Cardiff University

As a Professor at Cardiff University and part of the management team at Digital Transformation Innovation Institute Liana Cipcigan is at the forefront of the shift to electrified transport, delivering international research leadership and excellence, collaborating widely with industry and being recognised as an expert in EVs and Smart Grids with national and international esteem.

EV Policy Lead REA

Matt is the EV policy lead at REcharge UK, the EV forum of the Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA). Matt has been actively involved in EV policy for the last three years having previously worked at Drax in among other areas their EV policy. His primary responsibilities lie in accelerating chargepoint deployment and system flexibility while ensuring public charge points can be accessed by and are safe for everyone, as well as speeding up grid connections, and supporting local authorities with chargepoint rollout. Matt is also the Secretariat for the EV All Party Parliamentary Group, in charge of bringing to light the concerns of the EV sector to political decision makers.

Steve Offley

Net Zero Transport Manager

Wales & West Utilities

Steve has 44 years of experience in the transport sector. He has spent 7 of those years at Wales & West Utilities as Transport Manager, managing a 1400-strong commercial vehicle fleet, which includes 60 HGVs, plus 300 company cars and 900 items of mobile plant. He more recently joined the Net Zero Team as Transport Lead and will oversee the decarbonisation of WWU’s fleet.

Jonathan Murray

Policy and Operations Director Zemo Partnership

As Policy and Operations Director Jonathan has responsibility for formulating the policy objectives of the Partnership, in conjunction with government departments and members and disseminating the outputs of the Partnership’s work programme to policy makers. Jonathan has direct responsibility for co-ordinating the Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce, its delivery and liaison with Taskforce stakeholders.

Senior Policy Advisor BVRLA

Catherine Bowen joined the BVRLA as Senior Policy Advisor in 2019. She leads the Association’s work on Decarbonisation and Future Mobility, with a keen focus on EV charging infrastructure and how we best support the transition of commercial vehicles.

Catherine has worked in senior policy roles for over 17 years and has experience of working within private, public sector and not-for-profit organisations.

Prior to joining the BVRLA, she worked for the British Retail Consortium, where she held the post of Head of Crime and Security policy.
