MEDIA INFORMATION
Market Change through innovation is inevitable and is happening now FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS, the GreenFleetŽ brand has championed low emission transport. Its portfolio of magazines, events, websites and newsletters provide a leading communication platform for senior decision makers in the fleet and transport industry. GreenFleet’s mission is to help organisations large and small manage their fleets more efficiently and reduce their impact on the environment. It does this by keeping them up to date with developments in the green transport and alternative fuels market. Key to this is bringing suppliers and customers together. Spurred on by stringent carbon and air quality legislation, the green transport industry is moving at a fast pace. It is now well-documented that poor air quality contributes to the early deaths of 40,000 people each year and older diesel vehicles contribute to the problem. The government's Clean Air Strategy has therefore announced the ban of the sale of purely petrol and diesel vehicles by 2040 and several manufacturers have pledged to phase-out diesel engine production. What's more, the imminent arrival of several Clean Air Zones in cities could pose operational challenges to fleets The government's Road to Zero strategy sets out measures to reduce transport emissions by improving and expanding the public charging infrastructure, making existing transport greener, and supporting the uptake of zero and ultra-low emission vehicles. What's more, the Automated and Electric Vehicles Act has passed through parliament and will give government new powers to mandate that chargepoints are put in motorway services and large fuel forecourts.
The enormous buying power of the fleet sector helps to steer the path of the motor industry takes. As early adopters of the latest technology, and with an over-arching remit to reduce emissions while saving money, getting the low down on new technology is vital, as well as timely and accurate reporting to facilitate informed decisions about vehicles, fuels, tax, mobility, finance, training, telematics, and insurance issues. GreenFleet occupies this role, providing a multi-faceted information source to help transport and fleet managers increase their environmental and product knowledge. The award-winning A4 glossy magazine and website are accompanied by a series of nationwide events that provide practical demonstrations on how to achieve these efficiencies. New initiatives, such as the GF 100 Index which ranks the 100 most influential people within the fleet industry, help to ensure that GreenFleet keeps up to date with changes in the market. GreenFleet is proud to continue to support the UK Fleet Industry and is committed to providing fleet decision makers with an unrivalled portfolio of products to assist in their role in reducing the environmental impact of their fleet.
