GreenFleet GTR MANCHESTER • Etihad Stadium • 15th March 2018 Sponsored by:

WELCOME After 4 years away… GreenFleet is back in Manchester! 2014 saw Manchester host the 2nd “Meet the ULEV Buyer” event we have staged… 4 years and 12 events later and we are delighted to be returning to the stunning Etihad stadium, to bring you GreenFleet GREATER MANCHESTER. Staged in partnership with the Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), supported by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and sponsored by Lex Autolease, this is the forum put together to help the region’s fleet operators understand more about Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) solutions, and establish if this ever-evolving technology can be integrated into their everyday transport operations. TfGM and Manchester’s authorities have underlined their commitment to improving air quality across the region, and with road transport in Greater Manchester accounting for 65% of nitrogen oxide (NOx) and 79% of particulate emissions, along with 31% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, action needs to be taken… NOW! As a result, a GREATER MANCHESTER AIR QUALITY ACTION PLAN 2016 – 2021 has been created. The primary objectives of the plan are to improve air quality across Greater Manchester and to embed low‑emission behaviours into the culture of its organisations and lifestyles by 2025, whilst at the same time supporting the UK Government in meeting all EU thresholds for key air pollutants at the earliest date. This can be achieved by: • Reducing Traffic volume • Increase Efficiency • Improving Company Fleets – by replacing older, more polluting vehicles with newer, smaller, cleaner, lower emission vehicles This confirms just how important it is that Greater Manchester businesses are on-board with the vision of Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and all play their part in reaching the 2025 target. So, you may well be asking yourselves: “It’s all well and good saying that these ULEVs can help save the planet, and save us money, but do they really work?” This event will prove that they do… Today’s event will allow you to make an ‘educated decision’ as to whether electric, plug-in hybrid, standard hybrid and/or gas-powered vehicles have a role to play in your everyday transport operation. So, let’s start that here today, at GreenFleet GREATER MANCHESTER!

We have been able to bring you this event, thanks to the help and support of TfGM, together with Lex Autolease and the other sponsors you will meet here today. We have been fortunate to gather support from key players in the sector so that you can discuss your individual requirements and ensure that all your questions are answered. If it is information on grants, future government policy and the way forward, we have the Department for Transport’s OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles) on hand. Today’s event will give you that crucial ‘Touch, Taste, Feel’ experience, thanks to BMW and MINI, LDV, Toyota and Lexus and IVECO. Please also make sure you talk to Lex Autolease, one of the UK’s leading leasing companies for ULEVs. And be sure to talk to motoring journalist and EV owner, Quentin Willson, who will happily share his own knowledge and experiences with you, and will be joined by the TfGM, OLEV and charging specialists. You will all get an exclusive 30-minute group session with all of them, individually, today. So, make sure you raise your issues, embrace the offerings here today, and then help us help you, in terms of making ULEVs a viable consideration for your business. Food and drink will be available, and the event will wrap up with a final Q&A, followed by the ‘Galaxy Giveaway’, where one of you will leave with a fantastic Galaxy tablet courtesy of us at GreenFleet. If you have any issues or questions, please see a member of the GreenFleet team, on reception. Any feedback you might have would be extremely welcome. Please email us at Anna-Maria.Vassiliou@psigroupltd.co.uk We hope you enjoy your day.

EXHIBITORS Transport for Greater Manchester Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is the local government body responsible for delivering Greater Manchester’s transport strategy and commitments. More than 5.6 million journeys are made across Greater Manchester’s transport network each day. It’s our job to do everything we can to keep the city-region moving and growing. We’re working hard to make travel easier through a better connected Greater Manchester. We put the customer first in everything we do to help make travel as safe and simple as possible. We deliver the transport policies set by the Greater Manchester Mayor and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. We’re responsible for investing your money in improving transport services and facilities, to support the regional economy. We work closely with bus, tram and train operators to help improve the full journey experience. We own Metrolink – the UK’s largest light rail network – and plan for its future, including the new Trafford Park line. We also promote and invest in walking and cycling as safe, healthy and sustainable ways to travel. We keep traffic flowing on some of Greater Manchester’s busiest roads by managing a 360 mile ‘Key Route Network’. We subsidise more affordable fares to help older people, children and disabled people get around. We develop easier, smarter ways to travel and plan your journey by

using data and technology. We also play a leading role in coordinating Greater Manchester’s plans to reduce transport-related air pollution. We’re working hard to improve air quality and reduce carbon emissions, two of the most important challenges facing Greater Manchester. There’s strong evidence that air pollution and greenhouses gases cause significant harm to the environment and to the health of communities, and can damage our economy. Both short- and long-term exposure to air pollutants can affect people’s health, with poor air quality contributing to respiratory illness, heart disease and some cancers. The most serious air pollutants are nitrogen oxides and particulates. Greater Manchester road transport accounts for 65% of nitrogen oxide and 79% of particulate emissions, along with 31% of carbon dioxide emissions. On behalf of the GMCA, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has developed the Greater Manchester Low-Emission Strategy and Greater Manchester Air Quality Action Plan, concentrating on ways to tackle emissions from road transport to improve air quality and to help in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. These complement the Greater Manchester Climate Change and Low Emissions Implementation Plan, which focuses on making the most of the region’s energy and resources through reducing its carbon footprint.
