The Algorithm People specialise in ultra-low emission and electric vehicle optimisation utilising cutting edge algorithms proven to generate savings and efficiencies of up to 30%. We help all business types and organisations become more efficient by increasing vehicle utilisation, reducing costs and cutting emissions. We achieve this for our clients by introducing algorithms into the planning process and identifying where savings and efficiencies can be made. We can also identify where electric and ultra-low emission vehicles can be introduced into a fleet or organisation and how to optimise these vehicles to achieve the maximum return on investment. Our algorithms can be delivered as a service or for end users to access via an API or easy to use web-based dashboard, where jobs can be uploaded and resources optimised. There is no software to install, integration to consider or complex set up process. Our approach provides all the benefits of optimisation, without the hassle of implementation… We offer a pay as you go service; which can make the introduction of our algorithms self-funding from the outset, by the monthly investment in our technology, being less than the savings they generate. We also provide a benchmark service where we demonstrate the levels of savings and efficiencies we can achieve for your business or organisation and where electric and ultra-low emission vehicles can be introduced. www.thealgorithmpeople.co.uk

Welcome to the GREENFLEET Awards 2020 This afternoon, you join us in your ‘black tie best’ for a celebration of all that is clean and innovative in the UK fleet sector. This year’s Awards may be online but its purpose and significance remain the same; to acknowledge the outstanding work you have done. In many ways, this GREENFLEET Awards promises to be the best yet. Why? The ability to link up, chat, take to social media and enter some competitions for a bit of fun is what will make the 2020 Awards a unique experience. Sponsored by The Algorithm People together with Maxus UK and others, we gather here online to do nothing other than await the announcements from our esteemed Awards Hosts, who include Roger Atkins, LinkedIn’s No 1 Voice for EV, and none other than UK comedy impressionist Luke Kempner. He recently presented Good Morning Britain’s very own ‘Marmite Man’, Piers Morgan, with his Spitting Image puppet and is now one of the key voices on the newly relaunched show. Luke’s light-hearted sparkle is a welcome addition to the perfect way to see out this truly unique year. 2019 honoured a stellar line-up of those responsible for pioneering efforts to reduce emissions from fleet vehicles. Some 20 categories punctuated the live glittering Awards night and winners included online food shopping sustainability champions, Milk & More taking home the GREENFLEET Award for Outstanding Achievement, remote defleet online tool designers Adesa UK scooping the IT Innovation Award and Toyota leaving the Gala night extravaganza with the Award for Fleet Car Manufacturer of the Year. So, who will win these and many other GREENFLEET gongs this time around? We are not ready to reveal this just yet as we give you an opportunity to pour the bubbly, sit back, relax and above all else stay tuned! And as you sip your sparkling, Tweet and share your thoughts and comments throughout the event on LinkedIn and when posting, please tag GREENFLEET UK and GREENFLEET Events on LinkedIn and @GreenFleetNews on Twitter and use the #Hashtags #GFAwards2020. We have a competition to win a brand-new Amazon Echo for the best pic of you watching the event online, so get Tweeting! We are truly honoured to have you with us today for GREENFLEET Awards 2020 - brought to you by the team behind the GREENFLEET online event brand, GF365. We hope you have a fun and enjoyable event and here’s to a successful (albeit challenging) 2020 and a better 2021! ‘Til next time...

Airmax has launched an asset management telematics solution, Airmax Connect for the contract hire and leasing sector. It combines a range of established telematics-based services developed over the past 20 years, with a host of sectorfocused features and functionality. This includes proactive servicing, maintenance, battery health for SMR and downtime management, complemented with FNOL (First Notification of Loss) incident detection to help contract hire and leasing organisations to reduce costs, streamline internal processes, and protect assets better. These services are now expanding to electric vehicles, which advances conventional telematics services. Airmax has been focused on EV compatibility since the end of 2019 and recognises the importance of providing big data technologies to those fleets that are utilising electric vehicles within their fleet. The company is investing a significant proportion of its R&D capabilities into developing an EV telematics solution to provide tangible insight into EV performance.

HEV Café The EV Café was launched on the 26 March by Jonny Berry, EV fleet sales manager of Renault UK, soon after national lockdown started so that conversations around fleets transitioning to a greener future could continue. The EV Café gets more than 2,500 unique visitors, of which approximately 40% are fleet operators, whilst the remaining is made up of EVSE, consultants, OEMS and leasing. It is a platform for anyone in the industry to share and learn impartial advice. The EV Café has covered a wide range of topics such as: MaaS, EV adventurers, data, commercial vehicles, associated renewables, total cost of ownership, innovators and disrupters, public sector, and even a live session from notable locations. Education in all these subjects is paramount and to help achieve this. The EV Cafe welcomed industry leaders such as Roger Atkins, Graeme Cooper, Edmund King, and so on. The EV Café brought 65 different senior representatives from a variety of companies, allowing time for the audience to ask questions of people they wouldn’t normally reach. This results in approximately 30 questions and 1,500 or more cross conversation points in one digital café session.

HLEVL Telematics LEVL has launched its end-to-end electric vehicle transformation programme, helping fleets transition without the risk. LEVL works with some of the largest EV fleets in the UK including, Muller, Milk & More, Nissan, EON, Farmdrop, DROVER and many more fleets that are adopting an EV strategy. To enable a smooth transition, LEVL installs Geotab telematics devices to capture what is happening now, to measure fleet range, driver behaviour and all aspects of vehicle usage to ensure moving to electric is possible.

HLEVL Telematics (continued) With the data collected, LEVL will analyse the fleet and provide a detailed overview of which vehicles are ready to transition to electric, including CO2 reductions, fuel savings and total cost of ownership. In parallel LEVL works with its partners to conduct an infrastructure survey, to ensure sites have sufficient power to charge the vehicles.

H UFO Drive UFODRIVE Mobility Solutions (MBS) is an end-to-end software used to launch, manage and scale an electric fleet. MBS addresses the key challenges for EV drivers as well as for fleet managers. The solution accelerates the shift to electric mobility. Driving an EV is a seamless experience with UFODRIVE MBS, thanks to overcoming the number one problem to user adoption: in-journey charging. Charging infrastructure is fragmented and operating with several payment systems making long EV trips a logistical nightmare. The driver’s app connects the driver, the car, and the charging infrastructure in one elegant solution with integrated navigation and payments. Imagine the Tesla built-in navigation with superchargers, but this time, with all the charging options and available in every EV! That is UFODRIVE. In addition, UFODRIVE developed a proprietary AI engine predicting the EV range. Indeed since 2018, UFODRIVE has collected EV driving data from over 8 million kilometres that has allowed it to build a very accurate range prediction model, outperforming OEM models.

HElectric Zoo Electric Zoo can analyse a fleet of vehicles to show what the benefits of going green are when you switch to electric cars. Electric Zoo’s Smart Tech Box uses the latest technology and is placed into the glove box to gather data on the vehicle’s usage for 30 days. Once the smart box is returned to Electric Zoo in the supplied packaging, the company gathers all the relevant information and prepares an EV suitability study, highlighting cost savings and how much CO2 can be saved for the business. This helps businesses make the switch to electric confidently. If the service does not demonstrate where savings can be made, the service is free.

HADESA UK This year ADESA UK launched ADESA IVI (Intelligent Vehicle Inspection), an all-new service, which helps address the environmental impact of defleeting. In the physical auction world ADESA estimates vehicles typically amass 21 idle days between being de-fleeted and sold. During that time they prompt multiple vehicle movements all of which have an environmental impact. ADESA IVI uses cutting-edge IT to significantly reduce the environmental impact of defleeted company cars for vendors and buyers. ADESA IVI marks the first deployment of Artificial Intelligence in the UK remarketing sector. It is a powerful tool which empowers company car drivers to carry out their own vehicle inspection prior to end of contract. AI is employed to automatically assess any damage and produce a fully costed damage report based on the finance provider’s charge-out method and in accordance with the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association’s (BVRLA) fair wear and tear standards. Once the inspection has been completed the vehicle is offered for sale on ADESA’s online platform. Dealers can then bid for the car online.

AFV Champions Despite the government’s Road to Zero Strategy saying it is “technology neutral” when it comes to its 2030 petrol/diesel phase out plans, it’s fair to say that electric vehicles have taken the limelight. And while they are great for achieving zero-emission transport, they have their challenges, especially for larger, heavy goods vehicles. Meanwhile, other alternative fuels exist and have proven successful at either eliminating or reducing harmful emissions. We’re talking hydrogen, natural gas, and (HVO) Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. And while they

too have their own challenges, there are individuals championing their cause, as well as lobbying government to put the incentives and infrastructure in place to make them more widely used. So, in recognition that it should not just be those championing electric vehicles applauded, our very first AFV Champions recognise and celebrate those individuals flying the flag for alternative fuels. There is no shortlist, and winners will be announced on the day.

(small to medium) H Brecon Beacons National Park Authority The Park Authority added its first electric pool vehicles in 2016 and now 66% of this fleet is electric. By the end of 2020, it plans the removal of traditionally fuelled vehicles from the pool fleet entirely. The Park Authority has introduced two Outlander PHEV to reduce warden fleet emissions and replaced all diesel vehicles with Euro 6 compliant models. In 2016, the Park Authority was awarded Go Ultra Low Company status for its continued commitment to electric mobility. The Park Authority’s electric pool fleet is expected to cover 72,000 miles of zero emission travel per year. This has reduced the fleet’s average CO2 from 122g/km in 2019 to 107g/km today. The Park Authority is also championing electric mobility through its education team using its electric Kangoo van which is powered by the Sun. This year the Park Authority introduced publicly-accessible charge points at its facilities, all powered with green energy.

HCity of Glasgow College Prior to 2020, the College fleet consisted of two large vans, one box van, one people carrier and one estate car. Total emissions per annum were circa 4.01 tCO2e. The fleet age ranged from 2008-14. Total annual mileage was circa 15,500. Service, maintenance, MOT and fuel costs equated to circa £4,900 per annum. The college fleet is now 100 per cent electric, reducing carbon emissions by 4.01 tCO2e per year. Strict usage and monitoring of vehicles is ongoing where users are encouraged to use online virtual media for meetings, walking, cycling, and public transport before a car can be used or booked. Movement between sites for the van have been reduced by encouraging deliveries to be sent to the correct site and waste uplift to be lifted from the appropriate site. This also addresses any non-compliance issues as the College do not have a waste transfer licence.

H Gloucestershire Constabulary Gloucestershire Constabulary currently operates approximately 400 vehicles within its fleet. This is a mixture of marked and unmarked vehicles to meet the demands of a varied and constantly changing operational footprint. Gloucestershire has recently moved to be the largest EV fleet by percentage in the UK. This journey started in 2016 with the introduction of the Nissan Leaf. Since then, it has assessed the requirements of each department through a full fleet review and in 2019 introduced a further number of EVs. The total figure is now 67 Nissan Leafs, nine Nissan eNV-200 vans and three Tesla Model 3s. This total of 81 electric vehicles accounts for 20% of the total fleet number. Gloucestershire Constabulary is proud to say that one in five of its vehicles is full electric. When you break this down further to cars that are marked or unmarked, EV makes up 47% of its unmarked fleet at present. This move to EV has been assessed to have saved approximately 283 tonnes of carbon per year.

H South Ayrshire Council South Ayrshire Council has been running electric vehicles since 2012 and there are 39 electrified vehicles on the fleet with seven more on order. The fleet includes a mix of full electric cars and vans and a number of plug-in hybrid cars. An example of the positive impact of electric vehicles is the Council’s mail van which delivers internal mail around Council buildings. In July 2017, the diesel van was replaced by an electric vehicle which led to a saving of £863.44 per year in running costs and a massive reduction in emissions. Through Transport Scotland, the Council has also procured environmentally friendly vehicles for Community Planning Partners including: University West Of Scotland; Ayrshire College; Police Scotland; NHS; South Ayrshire Community Transport; and Voluntary Action South Ayrshire (VASA).

(small to medium) H First Mile London-based recycling company First Mile has been taking steps towards reducing the emissions of its collection process since 2017, when it launched its first zeroemission collection round in central London using cargo bike. This was followed by the purchase of its first electric vans later that year. Recently, the company has added a further five new electric vans to its fleet. First Mile has had charging points installed at its west London depot, which are powered by renewable energy. First Mile also fuels its trucks on site at its facility, reducing the need for extra road miles to petrol stations. Route technology, drive apps and telematics systems all contribute to First Mile’s low-environmental impact fleet. The company usually operates a fleet of 78 vehicles, however during Covid-19, not all of these are in operation. It is currently operating 47 vehicles which includes eight electric delivery vans and one cargo bike. All of its other vehicles in that number are ULEZ compliant / Euro 6 trucks. Its fleet is also FORS silver.

H McCann Nottingham-based civil and electrical engineering firm McCann has made 53 per cent of its fleet of company cars either electric hybrid or fully electric over the previous 12 months. Six 7.2kw electric charging points have also been installed at McCann’s Nottingham head office at a cost of £50,000, with further investment in the next generation of 22kw charger units planned over the coming years. The company has now been recognised for its efforts by achieving ‘Go Ultra Low’ status and set itself the target of using plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) or all-electric vehicles by 2021, and then going all-electric across its fleet of company cars by the year 2025. All of the company’s HGVs and vans are fully compliant with the latest Euro 6 emission regulations.

HNicholls Transport Nicholls Transport strives to minimise the environmental impact of its operations through embracing the latest fuel-efficient vehicles and technologies, as well as efficient working practices. The company has ten IVECO trucks powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) as well as an on-site refuelling station set up in partnership with GasRec. Its LNG fuel station not only powers its own fleet, it receives regular visits from other UK and European hauliers to fill up with gas as they travel through Kent. Nicolls also has 100 diesel IVECO Stralis Euro 6 vehicles and thanks to its annual replacement policy, the average age of its fleet is three years old. The company also uses advanced routing technology, and practices moving consignments overnight or early in the morning whenever possible, to help its vehicles avoid congestion and reduce fuel consumption. To achieve and demonstrate sound environmental practice the company now follows the ISO14001 standard.

Manufactured by SAIC and distributed in the UK by Harris Automotive Distributors, MAXUS is leading the charge for greener motoring. With a focus on range, reliability, and versatility, and with customer service at the heart of the brand, MAXUS has become a firm favourite with business owners and fleet managers across the UK. 2020 has been an historic year for MAXUS and, having rebranded from its original LDV moniker in April, MAXUS launched the newest EV in the brand’s stable, the e DELIVER 3, which is the first van in the MAXUS portfolio that will not offer a diesel engine alternative. Clocking up to 198miles /320km (NEDC) / (150 miles / 240km combined WLTP) on a single charge (52.5kWh battery), and coming in three variants with two wheelbase options, the e DELIVER 3 offers customers the pure driving experience. (medium to large) H Aberdeen City Council Over the last two years, the fleet department at Aberdeen City Council (ACC) has replaced various pieces of plant equipment for grounds and environmental services, 215 vans, 20 refuse trucks and 12 other HGVs. This has resulted in a lower age profile of the fleet, with improved performance and reduced internal costs as a benefit. The council continues to grow its electric and hydrogen fleet. As well as small vans and cars that are electric / hydrogen, the fleet department has introduced five dual fuel HGVs, two refuse collection vehicles and three large sweepers over the last two years, reducing CO2 Emissions by 19,870kg. Currently on order is the first Hydrogen fuel cell refuse collection vehicle in the UK, to arrive in February 2021.

H The Metropolitan Police Met Police vehicles travel over 52 million miles each year, and are integral to everything the Met does – from patrolling to the most complex operations. The Met Police operates 600 ultra low emission vehicles (using alternative fuels) which, to date, have collectively travelled 16 million miles. 237 tonnes of CO2 have been saved by its electric vehicles, 120 tonnes saved by its hydrogen vehicles and 1,979 tonnes saved by its hybrid vehicles. These vehicles form part of the Fleet Services team’s plan called “Enabling the Drive to Zero Emissions”, which aims to see all general purpose cars become zero emission capable by 2025; all new cars and vans to be zero emission capable from 2025; all heavy load vehicles being fossil fuel free from 2030; and all new cars and vans to be zero emission from 2030. The Met cannot compromise operational capability when introducing hybrid and electric vehicles, nor can it have a negative impact on officer mobility. To ensure the move to EVs does not restrict officers in performing their duties, the Met’s fleet services team has a clear plan to ensure the charging infrastructure is not only in place, but that every officer can locate a charging point with ease.

HSouthampton City Council Southampton City Council has recently added 24 electric vans to its existing electric fleet. The new vans replace existing diesel vehicles and will be used by a variety of essential services by its City Services department, including neighbourhood wardens and waste operations teams. All of the council’s new and existing electric fleet are powered by 100 per cent renewable energy, and new charging units were installed at the City Depot site. The vans have also been enhanced with the extras including heat pump technology. Acting like reversible air conditioning, it produces heat or cools down the vehicle cabin using minimal energy, preserving the battery, extending the range and reducing interruption to operations to accommodate charging needs.

(medium to large) H Sainsbury’s & Argos The Sainsbury’s Group fleet of Sainsbury’s Food and Argos stores operates a fleet of 1,623 tractors, 852 Rigids, 3401 Trailer and 102 shunters. The company’s target of reducing fuel/energy use by 34% by 2020 has been achieved and it is now working towards its target of net zero carbon by 2040. Sainsbury’s have been investing is alternative fuel since 2009, and has operated 109 dual fuel gas/diesel trucks for over eight years. Today the company operates 32 LNG tractor units, five CNG tractor units, and has another 10 Volvo gas tractor units, entering service in January 2021. It also operates two electric vans and is investigating electric powered refrigeration systems.

H Ocado Group Ocado Group has grown its CNG tractor fleet to 60 units; this means that a third of its truck fleet is running on CNG, reducing NOx by 70 per cent. Using Biomethane means the company has reduced carbon emissions by 76% against the government’s base line fuel standard. In addition, Ocado Group has continued to grow its EV fleet of home delivery vehicles; the company has 17 electric vans with a further nine in build and another 30 on order. It is also starting to introduce electric driven fridges in its home delivery fleet in order to move away from diesel to keep the food cold.

HMitie In 17 months, Mitie’s fleet has grown to 790 EVs, achieving its target of a 20% transition of cars and small vans to electric by the end of 2020, three months early. In one year, Mitie has added 714 EVs to its fleet, reduced its average CO2 g/km by 16.6 and saved £1 million. It is now using its experience and expertise to offer an EV transition service to clients. Mitie’s Landscaping Urban City Service is included in its range of Plan Zero services, involving the new Mercedes e-Vito van, using solar panels to charge the electric equipment inside. Mitie has also signed up to the Climate Group’s initiative EV100. Mitie has installed over 625 charge-points at offices and homes and is also supporting major UK EV infrastructure projects.

HNational Grid National Grid has a target for zero emissions by 2030 for the UK. Despite the Covid19 setbacks, that journey has begun in earnest. One year on since the target was set, out of the 1,756 cars, the full EV fleet stands at 244. Of the 600 vehicles due for change in the last 12 months, 50% are full EV, 48% PHEV of some type and only 2% have been full ICE. Of the total 2,856 vehicles nearly a third have been converted to EV or PHEV this year. The work hasn’t stopped there, the shuttle bus that collects staff from the train station is in the process of being replaced with an EV. Two hydrogen cars are due imminently with the hydrogen agenda being extensively explored. Organisations like EV100 have also been signed up to.

HJohn Lewis Partnership John Lewis Partnership’s fleet is very mixed, ranging from 600 heavy trucks, down to cars and light vans. Reducing its impact on the environment is a key policy, and is done by minimising the mileage by smart scheduling, maximising load fill and using the largest vehicles. It also maximises efficiency through driver coaching, using aerodynamics and weight reduction; and using low carbon and zero carbon fuels. John Lewis’ strategy is for all cars, vans and light trucks to be electric by 2030, and all heavy trucks to be running on biomethane by 2028. The company’s strategy is to use a new type of zero carbon biomethane for long distance heavy trucks, or overhead catenary electric vehicles if this technology is both available and better in this timescale. This strategy is predicted to save 500,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2030.

Today the company operates 32 LNG tractor units, five CNG tractor units, and has another 10 Volvo Gas tractor units, entering service in January 2021. It also operates two electric vans.

H Mervyn McIntyre - Hermes UK (Hermes Parcelnet Ltd) Mervyn McIntyre joined Hermes in 2019 and is responsible for the biggest CNG fleet in the UK. It currently consists of 90 CNG vehicles – approximately 40% of the core artic fleet – bringing in financial savings of c£15,000 per vehicle and carbon savings of c13,500tpa. Average km per year is 250,000, almost double the 130,000 forecast at the start of 2020. Mervyn also looks after 3.5-tonne vans (Hermes also has 32 electric vans) and company cars. Since he joined Hermes, the company now has 326 hybrid or electric vehicles available in every class of company car. Hermes invests heavily in tech across the business and sustainability is no exception. Mervyn’s view is that it would be foolish to ignore any alternative fuels, and so is looking at synthetically manufactured biodiesels like HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oils), which can be mixed with conventional diesel to help reduce distance restrictions. Hermes is also working with providers to offer alternative-fuel vehicles to its courier network, and researching fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen power.

HGraham Thomas - Ocado Group Having introduced CNG trucks into the Ocado fleet in 2018 with an order of five, Graham went on to grow this to 29 in 2019, at the same time building a grid connected CNG station at its Hatfield CFC. In 2020 Graham doubled the CNG tractor fleet to 60 representing well over a third of the total truck fleet. With the switch to Biomethane in 2020, the fleet is now delivering a 76% reduction in carbon on top of a 70% reduction in NOx and a 99% reduction in particulate matter. Not content with looking only at the truck fleet, Graham is trialling Hulsteins Ecogen to power its diesel trailer refrigeration units with its CNG tractors, as well as exploring how the company might convert its diesel fridges to work on battery electric. Until this becomes achievable, Ocado Group is implementing HVO for its trailer fridge fleet to provide up to a 90% reduction in carbon emissions from its fridges.

HDave Wake - John Lewis Partnership Dave is responsible for specifying and purchasing new fleet at John Lewis Partnership. This year that was over 800 commercial vehicles of all sizes and types, at a cost of over £41m. This includes everything from refrigerated vans, tractors running on 100% biomethane, light trucks and refrigerated trailers of a complex three temperature and highly aerodynamic design. Despite the challenges of Covid, and many other technical challenges associated with introducing highly innovative vehicles, all these vehicles will be delivered in time for the critical Christmas peak. This has required working very closely with suppliers, both supporting them and pushing hard to achieve the delivery schedules essential to achieving deliveries to customers at this critical time. Over 600 vans for home delivery are of an innovative design that increases capacity from 105 to over 130 crates. In addition, Dave is leading on work to implement electric vehicles in over 250 sites.

H The Phoenix Works The Phoenix Works’ EV charging service plan is a complete end-to-end charging solution that combines the installation of EV chargers on an open, subscription-free network, with ongoing support and maintenance. The service is packed with marketleading features, but two headline benefits are specifically designed to remove two of the market’s biggest problems: upfront costs and charger reliability. The Phoenix Works’ solution not only removes upfront costs, by instead offering a charging service plan from just £1 a day, but it also allows organisations to set their own tariffs and retain all revenue generated. Its service also has a unique ‘100% Uptime Guarantee’; if a host experiences downtime as a result of the Phoenix Works’ systems, the company does not charge them.

H Octopus EV Powerloop is Octopus’ new Vehicle-to-Grid Innovation Project. It is one of the world’s first large-scale trials of domestic V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), which is a new type of charging paving the way for a revolution in how we use energy. Combining car, charger, app and energy tariff into a single bundle, Powerloop is designed to make the switch to an EV (electric vehicle) easier than ever. The V2G bundle includes a Nissan LEAF - the only fully battery-powered EV capable of V2G, a free WallboxTM V2G charger and the Powerloop app - to easily schedule and control your charging. It also includes 100% renewable energy - through Octopus Energy. Powerloop will harness EV technology and let us use it’s full potential, delivering benefits not just for energy systems, but for customers.

HBevan Group Bevan Group is partnering with Nissan and Voltia to convert the base model of the Nissan e-NV200 in the UK and Ireland. The conversion dramatically increases the cargo carrying volume of the original vehicle, which is proving to be too small for most customers’ needs. The order bank is already very buoyant with a large amount of orders already being taken. Whole vehicle type approval is currently being carried out to raise the gross vehicle weight on the vehicle to increase payload and increase the possibilities of the vehicle and its overall market. In the UK, the conversion is being operated successfully in all environments, from its initial roll out in urban locations in London to now operating in rural Scotland.

HMina Mina’s solution allows EVs to be charged at employee’s homes or on the road, and for fleets to pay one single invoice for all the energy used - the equivalent to a fuel card for electric vehicles. Employees don’t pay a penny, so there are no expenses to claim – Mina credits their energy providers directly for the cost to charge. Mina does this by integrating with their chargepoint, the driver’s energy supplier and the national grid. This data is then pulled into a user friendly dashboard which gives the fleet manager complete visibility over the charging activity of their fleet down to the carbon intensity of each charge for each 30 minute period. At the end of the month, they pay a single invoice for all their fleet charging costs. In August 2020 Mina announced that it had partnered with Mitie Group PLC to help power their electric fleet and allow them to easily pay for employees’ home charging.

HGRIDSERVE The UK’s first Electric Forecourt® near Braintree, Essex, is the first of over 100 sites to be built by GRIDSERVE in the next five years, as part of a £1bn programme to help make EV driving ultra-convenient and stress-free. 30 electric vehicles can be charged simultaneously with high power chargers that can deliver up to 350kW of charging power. As well as housing a retail space, the Electric Forecourt® will also include an education centre to showcase EVs.

GREENFLEET Award for Outstanding Achievement

SPONSORED BY THE ALGORITHM PEOPLE

The Covid-19 pandemic turned everyone’s lives upside down in 2020. But the green transport agenda did not lose pace, as the GREENFLEET Awards has shown. The government’s confirmation recently that new petrol and diesel vehicles will no longer be sold from 2030 will no doubt accelerate the green transport agenda. But there are individuals that have been flying the environmental-fleet flag for years and have been making excellent progress in reducing the environmental impact of their fleet operations. Each year year, the GREENFLEET recognises and celebrates such individuals, with the presentation of the GREENFLEET Award for Outstanding Achievement. There is no shortlist, and the winner is announced on the night. Last year’s winner was the fleet team at Milk and More, who adopted a full electric fleet comprising 500 vehicles, which was at the time, the largest EV fleet in the country. This year’s recipient of the outstanding achievement award will no doubt be a worthy winner of during this turbulent year.
